If you want to watch a funny Danish Christmas series, with a funny combination of Danish and English, I highly recommend checking out 'The Julekalender' from 1991
@@j.h.2967 It's my experience from other foreigners who have watched it, that they don't particularly care for the show. The Tv-Show was from an era when everybody was watching the same thing, and then talked about it in school's, work places ect. I think it's a show for people who grew up in Denmark, knowing the different personalities and cultures of different regions in Denmark. And when your Danish skills on top of that, aren't the best they won't get the show. The same goes for me and the American legend Don Rickles. I don't find his humor that funny, but just about every American does.
@@bulleranse8323 Makes sense. I just thought that the funny combination of English and Danish ("Danglish") between the three elves, Fritz, Hansi and Gynter, could be something for foreigners to give a good laugh.
Honestly the highlight of this video is how far you have come on the annunciations of the Danish language. Truly amazing to follow you guys and your adventures. Glædelig Jul!
You probably meant "enunciations" (pronunciations, articulations) and not "annunciations" (announcement, proclamation). Yeah, I had to look up these to be sure...
But on that topic, I wanted to nitpick a bit on the pronunciation of "Fyn". I am Norwegian and don't use Danish in everyday life, but I do believe pronouncing it "Fun" is too far off. I know the Danes move the "y" more towards "u" than we do in Norway and Sweden, but I think that "y" as in "Young" is a better starting point. Just my two ... øre ... worth. And thanks for all the great videos. Your channel is one of the most entertaining of its kind.
@@benttranberg2690 thanks. Sure yes it was what I meant. Not a common word for me and I took the easy way. And sure there are still a good way to go for it being perfect enunciations, but still impressive. Imo
So sad i didnt know your were comming to Otterup.. Im a huge fan of your videos and i live 50 meters from the Marked..Would be awesome to have met you :-) Merry Christmas :-)
The market in Odense, there are a man dressed up as H.C.Anderson, he's making a short play with 15 kids and adults dressed up as caracters. (wich I am a part of). we play all around the country and in the summer holidays, we have a 25 minutes play, at the fairytale castel in the fairytale garden.
would have loved to have met you in Otterup, I live only 6 km from Otterup. This year is the first time there is a Christmas market in Otterup and it was the last market this weekend. Best wishes for Merry Christmas to the Hole Family🤶🏻🎅🏻🎄
You folks are the real troopers in this weather! Great video! I can’t believe I’ve stayed inside doing nothing and meanwhile other people such as yourselves are out there visiting places that are just are just around the corner from my neck of the woods🎅🏻🎄🤶🏻 I’ll try to catch up tomorrow and the day after! By the way, have you ever visited the Heartland Festival in the summer? It’s right next to Egeskov Castle also, with great music and great food! Glædelig Jul to you! 🎄
Nice video as always. Next year, you should visit Nyborg Christmas market and also medieval days in the summer :) Nyborg Castle is probably not open, But I still think there is much to see. Nyborg is called 'The heart of Denmark's kingdom' Its the first capital city in Denmark dated 1100 something. And it's by the way the cradle of handball. :)
@@TravelinYoung Great :) I drove over i last summer on a motorbike and even though I don`t have problems with heights, I did feel a bit small on a 200kg bike.
I might be from Sjælland, but Ålborg has a fantastic Christmas Market, in the Ols Town..check it out!! Glædelig Jul og Godt Nytår & hello from Hundested 🌸❄️
"one of my favorite castles.." Johs, you are aware that most "American born" people probably never see a single one (apart from the one in Disneyland) - and then you just stand there superficially and say... "-one of my favorites..." O.M.G... lol.
I’m definitely aware how fortunate I am - and to expand what you said a lot of American may never even leave the country in their life. But regardless, I do love castles and have been to many - Egeskov is one of the tops :).

Josh, you're getting really good at pronouncing the Danish 'y'-sound (in Fyn)

Dejligt i kom forbi Fyn. Glædelig jul til jer
My favorite Christmas Market is the one in Lübeck, though that might be because I love the city.
Happy Winter Solstice, the days will be longer from now on.😊

Glædelig Jul! How did Josh handle "the nightmare bridge" this time? has it gotten any easier to cross?
Otterup is my home town! ❤️❤️❤️.
Rigtig glædelig jul til jer. Thank you for all the great vids. I look forward to meeting you next year at Roskilde Festival
As a hardly weapons producing country, Denmark actually produced a "Rolls-Royce" competition rifle in Otterup, for many years!
Glædelig jul 🎄🎅⛄❄️♥️
Glædelig Jul guys!
Are you celebrating Chistmas on Christmas Eve like we usually do in Denmark or on Christmas Day like in the US? Or maybe a mix of both? :)
Well Christmas markets on a grey and rainy day isn't quite as fun as after dark with the lights and some snow, I guess...
So you got to drive over your favorite bridge again ?
I did! And I went back to Fyn the very next weekend and drove over it another 2 times! I’m getting better and the nightmares are subsiding :).

Is it in Fyn or on Fyn? 🤔
We are saying on Fyn, but when we are saying about the citys, then it is in Odense..
Is that a bow on the top of your christmas tree?
It is! I cant fit my star topper on the tree in this house so I use a bow 😂 - M
@@TravelinYoung 😂 I like that you just dont buy a smaller tree! Thats dedication! 🎄
