Wow I forgot how intense Zavala used to be. "Forget what they say about enemy of my enemy, if something stand between you and Oryx, put it down!" Yikes! That's nearly fascist! "Let him take all he wants, he won't be around long enough for it to matter." Yeah because you are all safe in your Cozy tower while I am fighting the endless legion of death cults and knockoff Space-Marines here! I love Taken King! Lots of nostalgia to be had here!
7:28 this mission is a reskin, but it was done right. Unlike shadowkeep where it was just lazy reskins (doing the exact same missions in the form of Nightmares). It was one of the best missions in the campaign because it was so unique and it was a visit to a raid.
After over 700 hours in D2 (PC) I decided to boot up my PS4 and play through Destiny 1 for the first time because of this series. Did main story/dark below/house of wolves today! No boosts either. You're a legend
Dude, I found your channel when you started this series. I'm feeling so much nostalgia seeing you play through all this D1 content. Please keep making these, they're amazing!
Thanks to you- I came back to this game. I came back to the nostalgia. I came back to all the good times. Thank you, for reminding me of when life was better.
Remember when hunter cloaks didn't have pieces of trash on them. D1 design was almost perfect. Also I think having a ton of perks for a weapon made D1 better than D2. It gave vendors a reason to exist, by selling a different roll each week for like 9 different guns.
Amazing. Love this series. Brings back some good memories.keep it going. Am eager to see the Raids. Please do mention the exotic sword quest steps. I felt like I won the Olympics when I got all 3!
Lost to Light is one of the greatest Destiny missions. Just because of the sole fact that it didn't end when it said "Mission Complete" - when I first played The Taken King in 2015, this felt so jarring to me. It honestly symbolizes The Taken King's place in Destiny.
This is why Destiny was so cool, it implemented Sci-Fi with fantasy elements. I mean, at the end of the day, what's the premise of this DLC? A king wants to avenge the death of his son. Boom! So simple, yet so much develops off of it. Less was truly more, and I really miss the fantasy elements in the story. Everything's so convoluted and sequel-bating now that I'm just tired of the story.
Honestly the only campaigns I have ever enjoyed in Destiny have been TTK and Forsaken, both of which have fantasy elements as you mentioned. I agree this pyramid ship stuff is getting old, it really just feels like Bungie baiting D3.
Wasnt Foresaken a just a western like revenge story? Wasnt D2 vanilla story one of an exiled warrior wanting to oust the invaders? Warmind was a story about guardians trying to stop an ancient evil? It's not that hard to make a story sound incredibly simple when you break it down to the bare bones. Also D1 was also known for its sequel baiting.
@@RJLiams Forsaken wasn't just a revenge story, that is what it was on the surface but once you got to the Dreaming City at the very end of the campaign and did the raid the fantasy elements to the story were amazing.
My god Taken King was so good! Hands down the best story in Destiny so far. Oryx was an amazing antagonist, you visit awesome new places and revisit some old places in the coolest way possible, plus the story stays strong at every turn, and I genuinely feel that this is the only story mode final boss that is actually good. Destiny story telling at it's peak
I just wanted to say I’m really enjoying this series I just started D1 myself. I’m a new light player and your vids give me hope Ima keep grinding bro. I’m hoping I’ll be able to do Wrath soon
People said Bungie was lazy using story missions as strikes in CoO and Warmind but the mission to kill Oryx would have made a good strike with the pretense being we were hunting down Echoes. Decently long, a couple minibosses halfway through.
I will never forget the first time I saw Eris pick up the sword piece. I got really evil vibes coming from her. I'm still not 100% sure she is fully on our side
I guess it's a bit frustrating that Val caour is a raid boss and nokris isn't. I love strikes and want cool bosses and d1 had them like sepiks prime, omnigul, Taniks! But we have no reason or to believe that Val caour is stronger than both xol and nokris which I believe is the reason it upset so many people. If the raid lair had been like savathun or something it would've been less of a frustration for nokris to be a strike boss.
I’m kinda salty, I was 5 when this game came out. My uncle had it. I never played it because I was in to stuff like LBP. I’m 12 now, the first time I played D1 when I was 10. D2 was already out when I played it. It turned out I liked it. I didn’t get any expansions tho, honestly, I should’ve played it the first time I had a chance.
I never had the chance to play Destiny 1 but Crota seems so much more memorable than nearly anything from Destiny 2, simply from the great usage of cutscenes actually showing closeups of him in action versus the lame "radio chatter" dialog they do now
@@KingJerbear what you described as to what made Crota memorable literally was what they did with Ghaul. I'm also pretty sure killing Cayde was an incredibly memorable cutscene. Actually thinking back Crota didnt have a cutscene. He had one cinematic trailer. You dont see crota in the game until the very end of the raid.
@@KingJerbear and then there Cayde's death in Forsaken. Surrounded on all sides by the enemies we're gonna kill. Fighting to the bitter end before Uldren puts him down. Disappearing behind the door with his new allies. I'll agree Warmind and Curse of Osiris was lackluster. However D2 had the kind of cutscenes you were praising. Close ups of them in action.

Forcer yeah sort of I guess 😂 it’s like having a backup of yourself in a creative minecraft world in which you can slowly rebuild your reality form
So the are the Sunsingers actually taken in disguise 🤔
HERE THERE..
YOU ARE..
EVERYWHERE !!!!
Rise Of Iron next? Hell Yeah!
TTK had a vibe that no other expansion gave me. This was truly Destiny at its highest.
Why can’t story missions like this be in destiny 2 bruh 😤😤
Because the team is more focused on releasing bounties
@@seanmurray6380 lol
yeah, his boss fight start is so remarkable, while D2 boss fights are just ''eh lets kill this meaningless guy''

The music and atmosphere of the taken king is so good. Loved hearing it again!

You have made me miss D1 so much that I'm gonna start over and play it again.
These story missions had a certain intensity that Bungie just couldn't recreate in Destiny 2!
The taken king was the pinnacle of D1 IMO, so much content upon release it was amazing
That gaze at felwinter's peak at the end
i was too young to remember much but remember all the bosses!
Keep it up with the channel bro. It’s gonna keep growing

Matthew Webb Yes!
10:10 you missed a perfect cinematic opportunity here by not clipping when she says "guardian, come with me" in like 10 voices
In the lore Oryx's ship was actually a worm but then he turned it the dreadnaught.
Bro ur gonna make me re-download destiny 1.
I remember playing Chamber Of The Night for the first time…
Rank up packages always give the same stuff every time you reach rank 1 so you could get something if you hit rank 2
sunrizete5 Good to know!
I still don’t know what Eris did with the shard she took from the sword was it to help Mara create her throne world.
you gotta grind for the dead orbit exotic hunter cloak :P its the best in the game
I've been replaying too and this game was way more challenging at times compared to D2 which made things feel more rewarding
Blame the community. Difficulty was one of the many things the community complained about.
Now that we've seen Oryx's blade fall apart i think it's time... For Shaxx to return MY GOD DAMNED SWORD!
Kings Fall is the best raid, legendary.
Destiny 1 is the best thank u so much for this
Nice Golden Gun Finish!
u gonna be doing raids on D1?
SteveM29 yes!
Black spindle baby. I can’t wait to see it.
thank you so much bro, because of you I chose to buy destiny one again because I lost my old account on my old xbox 360 years ago
same sad times but im 380 almost. rip xbox 360 account.
The death singers always used to creep me out
You can be less than level 40 but the first rank up package is always 4 notes and strange coins
Regicide is still my favorite music piece
This was the best expansion to ever hit a game.
And now the best part crafting a sword
I will never forget the first time I saw Eris pick up the sword piece. I got really evil vibes coming from her. I'm still not 100% sure she is fully on our side
I felt the same way the first time. I agree. She's a little sketchy still
Takes me back ...
I like how oryx didnt need any fancy titles. It's just "Oryx" and we know we have trouble brewing
This makes me wanna restart my hunter in D1....
Hello NovemberHotel.
Also, taking the cabal wasn’t 100% intentional. I didn’t mean to send the entire empire after you, and eventually the Doritos.
I never had a titan in D1, so I think just to remember the game I will make a new Titan and do the campaign
You could actually use the nightstalker super to tether oryx and have more time to damage him without oryx being able to fight back.
Man I love taken king
one thing i disagree on that every cool boss has to be an some kind of raid boss so why

I returned to orbit and I had to restart the mission
I love these vids I play d1 all day cause I don’t play d2

Is it worth paying 50 something quid for destiny 1 this year? I've only played the trial
why do i feel like Eris is talking to Savathun at the end?
