Great video. You've inspired me to make a skirt for my Melissa & Doug doll. I put the waist band on before sewing the back seam so I could work on a flat piece. Turned out great.
That was excellent! Good job editing and with clear, easy, instructions 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I’m going to try this, and thanks for the extra tips, as a beginner myself, I’m sure this will make it easier for me 😁
Hi! Your sewing tutorials are fantastic! I have been sewing for many years and your instructions are so easy to follow. Thank you for your time in making these.
I usually pick based on which measuring tape I have handy. Centimeters are usually easier because the dolls are small and so are the numbers, but sometimes I can't find my CM tape and I use the one with inches instead. I prefer CM for most because it feels much more precise, but for length of skirts, pants, capes, etc. inches is fine. So I sometimes mix if that's easiest. Don't really have a better reason than that ^^;
It's to find the radius of a circle. The radius is determined by dividing by pi (3.14) but if the fabric is folded in half, we are only marking half the circle, so 6.28.
I'm so lost on measurements. My doll has a 9 cm waist making it a 1.44 cm radius? Where is 1.44 cm on the measuring tape? All this math is making my head hurt. I think I'm gonna give up, put the sewing machine I'm trying to learn away and go back to what I know. Crocheting.
"Hi, Evan!" My bad. XD
At least you weren't saying anything inappropriate XD I would've had to start over!
I love, when you show stuff, that can be easily resized to all sizes of dolls!
It's fun to share completed patterns, but I think this is a lot more helpful overall. :)
Very clear instructions without extra chatting is perfect.

That's a great idea! I'm glad it worked for you!
Yes, great idea! I thought the same, waistband, back seam, hem.
Thanks for showing the hem trick! Those have been pesky for me FOREVER! And the waistline as well, thank you so much :)
You're welcome! I'm glad you found it useful!
What's hilarious, is that I just made a circle skirt for a dolly I made earlier today. This is exactly what I did too!
Yes!! Aren't they fun to make?

Thanks for the video. Thanks also for teaching how to sew correctly and tha correct finishing for a high couture clothes for dolls😍😘
Where did you get that third measurement, to divide by 6.28? I'm lost about this one.
It's from finding the radius of a circle--two times pi :)
thank you so much for this tutorial. you are so kind to do that. it is extremely helpful!. thank you again!
Thank you! I'm really glad it helped you!
I never heard about the hem trick but I will try it out
I learned it from a friend's grandmother, who picked up the trick in the 50s when circle skirts were all the rage. :) It definitely helped!
Lomi's Playground and I always wondered how these skirts got popular after sewing the first. They are so hard to hem
This is just what I needed!
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for watching
Lovely .Thanks
Thank you!!

When measuring is it best to in centimeters or inches? Your reason for your choice.

Can someone pls tell me y the waist was divided to 6.28? Where did the 6.28 came from?

What does she mean with that third measurement? When she divides the waist by 6.28?
She divided it by Pi twice so she could get the circle’s radius
Linda saía adorei viu parabéns 😘🇧🇷
I guess im the only one who sews over the pins...
How did you get 6.8?
It's the math they teach you for measuring circles. 2 x pi

I feel you. It was not also clear to me. But do not give up just keep on searching other skirt tutorial till you will get it right
I know you commented that a year ago, but 1.44 cm will be 1 cm and 4.4 millimeters. I would probably do 1.5 cm for ease of measuring.
