The last time I bought Nemesis stuff, boxes were like $160-$180. I love how one foil can ruin the prices of every product in an entire set. I'm looking at you, JTMS.

Oh man....your videos got me addicted to Magic again. And that 10 years after I sold all my cards. I didn't even keep my boxes full of lands back then. Just threw everything out. Now I'm starting from scratch....but opening boosters is so much fun. Greetings from Germany!
So much nostalgia. I started playing MTG just after Mercadian Masques came out, went to the Nemesis and Prophecy prereleases, and then quit shortly after the next set. I have SOO many cards from those sets, really wish they had more value. At least i got all 3 full sets in set boxes. :)
Nemesis was my favorite set from my childhood, not necessarily because of the mechanics or the rares, but because of the art and the flavor... Been a Vorthos since 1998 :)

I remember when Masques block came out. Lin Sivvi was the biggest bomb back in the day, so much creature ramp that she got banned in Block play. Great intro too, I dig it.

I remember being super stoked for the release of this. My dad got me a booster box for my birthday, I had to be 13 to 15 (I am pretty horrible with dates and don't care to figure out how old I was when this came out). I really just wanted the Ascendant Evincar to go in my vampire themed deck. My friends and I never played tournament rules so it was all about getting out huge creatures.
Saporling cluster is great for aggro, pair with burn, your opponent will discard out of desperation for blockers, burn them away and just keep the beatdown going

Yeah, it only dominated that format, hahaha. Hopefully there was some sarcasm there that I didn't pick up on.
For a reasonably long time, many considered Lin-Sivvi to be the single best creature card ever printed. In her day, she was utterly incredible...and even today isn't bad. The biggest problem with the future of Lin-Sivvi is that there have now been creatures with "Rebel" in their title who did not have that type (Quicksmith Rebel). It seems the type is entirely retired...so she's now officially screwed...or she would be if not for Arcane Adaptation from Ixalan which allows you to use Lin-Sivvi to fetch every single creature in your deck.

The foils back then looked really good. The ones now are often hardly noticeable.
Why does the Nemesis box look so much cooler than other boxes I've seen?
you should do a end of the year re-cap video where you put together all the clips where you go through what you got in your box openings.
Urza's Saga next!!! I just finished watching you unboxing of merc, and you made money on that box for sure. COunterspell, Dark Rits, and Brainstorm for example are bank in Merc, Also the lands in this trilogy have value. Seems like pre 2000 you cant just overlook the commons, there people TOO!

Lin-Sivvi used to be that shit. Still have a UW Rebel deck built with her as toolbox enabler. Saproling Burst was also a great card...combo'd with Fires of Yavimaya for insta-kill. Massacre was wicked with Death Pit Offerring and some sort of animate all land sorcery...beat a mother in front of her children at my LGS with it. Still feel bad.
daze is a legacy staple its not worthless even as an non foil

I was lucky before when visitted mtg store and pull a pack of Nemesis and got Foil Tangle Wire. I sold it few days later since i dont play it. Sold for $15 while a pack was $1. It's a good trade, right ? ;)

These boxes are $150-$200 on ebay atm. Its almost impossible to make your money back since the most expensive non foil is Kor Haven at $7. Even getting a foil Daze at $100 doesn't come close.
i think back on how many Nemesis foils i had back in the day and i get sick....bah. They were not worth anything. Fading is a very cool ability though because it brought out some crazy power in cards. Blastoderm is the best common ever made btw!
Nonfoil daze is 2.20. Not worthless, but not particularly expensive either.

Masques block overall had the best art to ever grace the game, imo.
I like the new format, but I'm still put off by the way you don't fully read the cards and mispronounce them. Best example from this video would be Skyshroud *Poacher*, which you always mispronounce "Skyshroud *Preacher*".
Another thing is that you've got your set orders mixed up. There's an official, chronological list of all of the blocks and sets on the Magic homepage that you can fine by going to the 'Trading Card Game' tab, then click the arrow next to 'Products' in the left column and click on "All Magic Card Sets".

You could have it open as a reference or maybe have it printed out or written down somewhere on a wall where we can't see it if it helps you get things right.
Some people who come here solely for the pack openings and not commentaries might tell me to shut my mouth, but I for one would like if you could improve your commentary.

Zach Hex See, shit like this is why I rarely comment on youtube videos, providing constructive and useful criticism, because *some* people have a tendency of not reading the entire comment, but instead make up assumptions about what I'm writing and then replying to my comment based on those assumptions.
Assuming you're still reading, I did not type 19 lines "bashing him". I provided constructive critique on his video. Look it up if you must. The difference between "constructive critique/criticism" and "destructive critique/criticism" is that, with constructive critique, you explain your opinion and provide reasons as to why you think so, while also providing *tips on how to improve* (as in "helping). Destructive critique, on the other hand, would be flaming the creator of the video, calling it shit without explaining why you think so or giving the creator any input on how to improve (as in "bashing/flaming").
Learn the difference before you start making assumptions and accusing me again, because I'm fucking tired of people being morons on the internet towards people who are just trying to help people improve.
And in regards to the 'fully read cards', I'm mostly talking about card names, although he sometimes mistakes a card for having a different ability and then just skips along without reading the card to double check.

I am merely commenting the video, expressing my views and giving constructive feedback. That I'm getting flamed for politely and fairly doing so is really only a sign of you guys' incompetence and inability to see critique as being anything else than negative, and I suggest then that you don't reply to my comments if your narrow little brains can't comprehend the fact that I'm not bashing, flaming or otherwise unfairly judging mtgheadquarters just because I'm providing feedback on his video.

Nemesis boxes are actually pretty affordable compared to most other slightly older sets. They go for about 150-200. It wasn't a very good set. In fact it was a bad set.
I wanted this for Christmas and Santa was a jerk and got me a cheeper booster box.

The last set in this block is prophecy, not onslaught.
Onslaught was actually the first set i played. I was about 8 or 9.

All the value in that set is in the commons/uncommons. It bothers me how you brush over Submerge, Accumulated Knowledge and Flame Rift.
