very cool! i just bought this camera and it is my first time shooting on film (been shooting digital for a while and wanted to try this out). any tips for using this camera? did you buy a special battery for light meter? thanks!
Hi! There are no more reliable bateries for its lightmeter, even if you use an LR44 with adaptor, the reading may not be accurate. It is better to use external light meter be it an analog or an app. This is my favorite 35mm slr so far because of its weight, it feels premium to my hands. 😄
@@feelmanila awesome. what app do you use? does it feel cumbersome to be metering on something that isn’t the camera itself? do you feel like you’ve gotten used to the right settings and don’t need to rely on the app as much? thanks so much!
It is pretty normal to use external lightmeter. Even commercial photographers who use thousand dollar digital cameras use some sort of external lightmeters. Film cameras are already old piece of tech. The mechanisms could still work for another 10 to 20 yrs if serviced periodicaly, but the electronics including the lightmeter will fail sooner than the metal parts. You'll get used to it until you can meter by your eyes eventualy. Ps. I use a lightmeter app called Photo Friend from playstore
