- A brief tutorial on VW's voice commands for the Bluetooth system. All new VW models, the Jetta, Passat, CC, Golf, GTI, Eos, Tiguan and Beetle uses these commands, while the VW Touareg uses these and adds voice commands for the Navigation as well. On the newer cars you can do some basic commands like "next track". Its much easier to use the left/right steering wheel buttons to change the tracks though.
My Bluetooth voice command is in French, how do I change that??
How do I get the voice to speak in English? My car's system reflects that english is set already. But when I press the voice command button on the streering wheel it speaks in another langauge.

I just bought 2010 GTI, and the featured button in your video, on my car, only seems to mute all audio. Is there a way to set up so it functions as a voice command button? Thanks.

mate how do i pair my VW polo 2010 bluetooth with my phone? I have tried to do it multiple times but the car blue tooth is not visible to my phone when i search for it. I have tried to go in the menu section as well and confirmed that my bluetooth is turned to on position in the settings. i am guessing there is some obscure way to connect the phone that i cant figure out. Can you help?

@@matthewvanderschilden1582 i bought a 5 dollar device from Ebay that connected through Aux to the radio and then I could use that to get phone connected through bluetooth for both phone calls and media. it turns out that the lower end models of the Polo had the feature listed in the menu options but it wasn't actually available in the Radio. :(

i accidentally hit this button all the time and the darn thing just keeps going on and i can never get it to shut up. is there a way to tell it to shut off?
Wait for the beep, then press the button again, or just say "cancel" after the beep. You are not alone! Happens to me all the time.

Hello, I just bought a 2014 beetle and hit this button today. The voice command prompt went off, but it also seems to have muted my radio. Is this common? How can I resolve? I turned off/on radio and am experiencing same issue

My 2013 Bluetooth system has been working perfectly for years but all of the sudden, when the call connects it no longer goes through the speaker thus the caller cannot hear me. The voice commands and prompts are clear up to that point. Any ideas what I should try to fix?

My 2013 CC Bluetooth can't connect. I tried to reconnect and it still wouldn't work. I cant delete the phone out of the car, I don't get the option to. I turned off my phone and the car still thinks that there is a phone in the car. All of the other places I've read about this people are able to name the phone and go into the phone menu and delete the phone. I've tried unplugging the Bluetooth under the passenger seat and disconnecting the battery, all to no avail. PLEASE Help

I just got a 2015 Jetta and when I give it the command, "Call Adam" it says "Call Paul." I said, "Call Chin" and it says "Call Nick." So I was wondering is there some kind of voice calibration or something I can do? I had a friend try and got similar results. I have connected my Galaxy S6 phone to it and that's the phonebook it is using. Thanks in advance for the help.
Ronald Williams Do some work and others not work or are they pretty much all off? It is difficult sometimes even with the ways we enunciate the words. There no calibration on the Jettas unfortunately.

Ronald Williams Cool, if it happens still, try pairing a different phone from a friend or relative,(preferably not another S6). If theirs works, the problem is most likely your phone. If theirs doesnt either, its most likely the car and you may have to get the bluetooth module looked at by your local dealer,
I have a Scirocco. And i have the same problem with the language. Its French and want to switch it back to English. PLS help me with my issue
Its an educated guess as we dont have the Scirocco here. (The US never gets the really cool stuff!) But its most likely in your MFI (Dashboard settings menu, steering wheel controls) settings to switch the language.
On my 2011 jetta the voice when I push the microphone button is about 3 times louder than the ring tone and talking on the phone. It there anything that can be done about this.

How do I turn it off. Mine just says voice recognition active and I can’t use Bluetooth
Cant turn it off entirely. If you hit the button you have to wait for the prompt and say "cancel" or just hit the button again.

hey socalvwguy - is there any way to use Siri w/ the steering wheel controls?
Siri will work with the voice commands, but has to be initiated from the phone itself, not the steering wheel controls.
I know this is a year on from your comment, but if you have an iPhone plugged into a USB and is charging, you can say "hey Siri" and you can use it hands free. That's what I do with the Bluetooth in my car here in the UK. The fines and penalty points here are rather severe if the police catch you with your hands on your phone

Yes! There is. When you press the voice control button, say "options" and then "Short Dialogue" and it will cut the responses waaaaaayy down!

+Chasen Lasalle Probably not, you may have to install the BT, wasnt standard then. Start the car, and search for a BT device from your phone. If nothing comes up, it doesnt have it.

My 2014 Beetle is speaking Russian. Can't change it to English. Don't suggest changing language in the MFD as that has no effect. Anyone know the voice commands to make it reset to English.
