My wife and I have having a short break in London in August, so we are trying to work out an itinerary for our stay. A river trip is certainly one thing we really must do. My only question ... is it better to travel from Westminster to The Tower of London , or from the Tower of london to Greenwich. When I say better .. I really mean, which section of river has the most famous sights ?

OK Kev and I are trying to remember what the stops were. We went Greenwich to Westminster. All of the major London sights are between Tower and Westminster. But the whole cruise was fantastic and Greenwich was a cute town. Short stop over I'd do the short one. Make sure to go to Covent Garden and walk around. If you find a place called EL Pacifico, they have great food and drinks! The Covent Garden Social Club is a neat stop there too! I've been to London a few times, but this trip was the best!! Oh man the escape room we did so cool!!
How long y'all there? Where are you staying?

@@roamingknights Many thanks for the great reply. i think the Westminster to Tower Pier will do us, as we can then walk to the Walkie Talkie building; we already have tickets for the Sky Garden
We are only staying for 3 nights, at the Premier Inn 'Hub' hotel near Goodge Street.
Last November, to celebrate my wife's 60th we had a few days in London, same hotel and LNER train from Newcastle .. our first trip away for many years, and we loved it.
On our return we had itchy feet, so for my 65th in February, we had 3 nights in Edinburgh. (P.I. Haymanrket Hub hotel) which was only £167, together with the £38 return on the train from Newcastle. Another fantastic time.
May, was a 3-night trip to Glasgow (P.I. Buchannan Galleries) .. brilliant ! and so much to see in Glasgow. Heatwave too.
So, it'll London again in a few days.
      Then ... Manchester / Liverpool (2x 2-nights) in October
I don't know why we didn't do this sort of thing sooner.
With a Two-Together railcard, there are some bargains to be had on the train, especially if booking advance tickets, available 12 weeks ahead.
