On the Buses at the Movies - OFFICAL TRAILER: • On the Buses at the Mo...
On the Buses at the Movies is a feature length documentary that celebrates the 50th anniversary of this classic British comedy film series. On the Buses was released in 1971, with Mutiny on the Buses the following year, and Holiday on the Buses in 1973. The films, like the long running television series, quickly became a firm favourite with audiences around the world.
On the Buses at the Movies features contributions from the writers and original members of the cast and crew, who tell the story of how On the Buses first came about, how the actors developed their iconic characters and the inside story of how the films were made. We hear from actor Reg Varney, who played Stan Butler, Anna Karen, who played his sister, Olive, Andria Lawrence, who played Turnaround Betty and Stephen Lewis, who played the ever popular, and ever frustrated, Inspector Blake.
We hear from writers Ronald Chesney and Ronald Wolfe, Roy Skeggs, Hammer Films' production supervisor, and crew members Brian Reynolds and Phil Campbell who worked on the first two films, On the Buses and Mutiny on the Buses.
Steve Luxton, who heads the official On the Buses Fan Club, gives us unique insights into the films and the actors, and shares some of his extensive collection of memorabilia. Dean Sullivan, managing director of Sullivan Buses, tells us about the buses that were used in the films, and film historian and author, Morris Bight MBE, explains the history of On the Buses and provides unique insights into the making of each film, their enduring appeal and their longstanding impact on our popular culture.
On the Buses at the Movies is released online on 18th November 2021.

They should repeat On The Buses Tv series on TV, you never get tired of them so funny and good comedy
Harmless tounge in cheek comedy
I will Definitely watching taping on the buses, an Institution I could watch 24/7 never get tired of it Must always get my daily fix of on the buses Always
If they ever decide to remake this wonderful series. I and probably many other ex and serving bus drivers could supply truck loads of material. It truly was a great life on the buses. I certainly believe the films caught some of the essence of the Carry On humour.
This is a great video. I'm a huge fan of the On the buses 3 films and the brilliant series. I have them all on dvd and regularly play them and they really cheer me up. I cry laughing. I can watch them over and over. I went to see Mutiny on the buses at my local ABC cinema. It is a great example of situation comedy at its best.
I enjoy on the buses
The absolute best comedy of the 70s 🙏🕊😇✝️💕
Mutiny On The Buses theme music is one of the greatest
It's Hilarious 😂😂
never heard of such beautiful melody, for sure! 👍👏 thank you.
I really do enjoy ON THE BUSES.The T.V show and the movie variation.I could NEVER get enough of them.a very funny show and movie.God bless the entire cast.
It's so good to see old comedies kept alive as we will never get anything like we did in the past due to offending too many people. Look forward to the documentary
Brilliant so good that you are doing this. Keeping well loved British comedy alive. Many thanks.
Wow. They aged really well!! Thanks for sharing this. It is was fun to see.
I'll look out for the documentary!
You've got me on board, ding ding
Good to have on the bus. Hope you enjoy the doc.
With one man buses the ding -ding, an incidental warning to those standing that the bus was about to move off, disappeared .
Can't wait for the documentry I've got a feeling it's going to be good.
We're biased, but we think you're right. Hope you enjoy it.
I have the films on dvd
Sign me up for the DVD if you do one. Cheers
there were 2 more films never made On The Buses Abroad a variation on Bye Bye Blakey and Nightmare On The Buses where Jack marries Olive, Mum marries the inspector and Arthur is a ghost apparently recordings for Man About The House film delayed this but Michael Robbins part in this was minimal as he played a doorman to itv studios more likely The Pink Panther Strikes Again tied up Michael Robbins from an On The Buses 4th or 5th film. and this is in the On The Buses books.
Absoluteĺy fabulous I'm a huge fan of on the buses and the spinoff films they're all so funny. Stan butler a.k.a. regvarney was so funny in the series he loved the opposite sex but it never worked out for him all he did get was a brief fling with a few of theclippies then his boss will say get the buses out you're late heading to the cemetery gates. Blakeyshould have sacked him but he was too soft. If regvarney was a real bus driver he would have been fired straight away a bona fide boss with the company wouldn't have given him a second chance.
Such a shame Bob Grant wasn't involved in this.
Tiberus Grant who appeared in so many eps
