- INVADERS OF THE HEART is from the album NEXT POSITION PLEASE. The seventh studio album by American rock band CHEAP TRICK, produced by Todd Rundgren and released in 1983.
As with all my guitar lessons and guitar covers, I make no claim that this is the correct way to play a song as recorded on the original album, it's simply how I play it.
I'm more than happy to provide more easy CHEAP TRICK guitar lessons, if folks are interested. Just let me know.
Thanks for watching

Produced by Todd Rundgren, Next Position Please marks a return to the more pop-oriented sound of 1977's In Color. The LP spent 22 weeks on the Billboard 200 LP charts and peaked at number 61.
The then-band members (Zander, Nielsen, Jon Brant, and Bun E. Carlos) consider it one of their best albums. "I Can't Take It" has become a concert staple over the years. Several of the album's tracks were re-worked versions of older material, such as the title track and "You Talk Too Much."
Cheap trick lessons are back . Yes .
Do you think Rick is doing the bluesy verse bit on the A string to make it easier to reach the fill when the chord switches to E? I found it was easier to reach doing it that way. Thanks for the lesson!
Could well be the case - would definitely make it a wee bit easier.
I got into Cheap Trick through your channel, Dunsy. I’ve played along with so many of your CP playalongs over the past year or so. So much fun and great tunes. Keep as much of this stuff coming as you want to and very many thanks. Cheers, Andy.
Thank ya, Sir. Yeah, got another couple of CT lessons to go live. I plan on using the midweek slot to have a guitar lesson every week rather than me just playing along with something.
Rick Neilson is brilliant
A songwriting genius - what a back catalog these guys have. Incredible.
Dunsy, thanks for posting this.. long time lurker, first time poster. One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands.. Keep up the great work. Nice Hamer by the way.
Thank ya buddy - yeah, when I saw this old Hamer for sale a few years back, I had to get it.
Good album excellent lesson 👍Thanks 🍺
Rock on!
I remember seeing Cheap Trick years ago in Sydney.... Rick had that multi-necked guitar ....We used to play California Man and Surrender in a cover band years back too....
Always a fantastic live act. And killer songs. And LOADS of guitars!
👍🏻👍🏻
Great lesson Dunsy! 👍
Thank ya buddy!
@@DunsysGuitarWorld My Pleasure! You Rock Dunsy!
I love those old Hamers.
I absolutely had to get this one a few years back when it came up for sale.
That guitar will be mine one day . Oh yes it will.... Possibly my favourite Cheap Trick song from my favourite Cheap Trick album .
You can have a wee shot when yer roond!
@@DunsysGuitarWorld Im getting quite roond thats for sure.
very well done
Thank ya - appreciate you checking it out. Love CT.
I remember seeing Cheap Trick at the Edinburgh Playhouse. They battered Motley Pöo right off the stage. And I don't even like Cheap Trick, but they were great live.
I recorded both bands that night - still have the tapes somewhere!
@@DunsysGuitarWorld Would love to hear them. I used to record gigs too. Did lots from the playhouse.
