I remember watching this in 2008 and being blown the fuck away... I miss those days man, being a little kid with a shitty 150$ Ibanez and being amazed at what I was witnessing in my screen, wondering if I could ever play like this dude (and no, I still can't do half the shit he does here haha)
Takayoshi is indeed an awesome player , no doubt! Besides the clean shredding, he's a great composer and can create very nice melodies ... Go japanese ^^ ! Damn I really like his playing style =D
amazing picking technique. very very clean playing a very fluent player. i have seen many videos of this guy he really is something special. great talent.
man i love this guy. his right hand technique is amazing. he alternate picks with just his thumb/index finger. im really trying to learn this way of picking because it looks much more efficient. but i always end up moving my wrist...
@beeps123 Like Herring said. Strats are a body style. Fender started it with the Stratocaster while other companies deviated from them. That topic is very subjective. ESP offers two Strat type guitars, the Snapper and Vintage. Snapper is only available in Japan and I like it a lot. However, when it comes to Strats, my favorite is called the Kraken Nexter. Affordable and plays amazingly.
This is the first time I have saw this, I understand exactly why he is called "The Progidy" ,And he isn't so bad now shredding it for Babymetal either :)
@ProgressiveGuitarist probably cause ESP has an open custom shop - anyone can order whatever they want. Ibanez and Caparison only have CS for endorsers (known ones :P)
of course their are many who can play at his technique-level; but i don't think that everyone is as creative as ohmura(same goes for other well-known guitarists; they wouldn't be well-known if their playing was pure technique) also this guy is really young and there will be a lot more to come in the future; even he will still be improving
Stupid comments. Look at the video and the piece. It's to show off technical vituosity, otherwise he'll play something slower and more melodic and he'll still kick your jealous butts!
@tldn Who said music needs breaks to sound good?...and the song fits good standards. It's just that the melodic riffs he plays are filled with extra unnecessary notes that gives those riffs an interesting touch.
Talk about " The Right Hand of God " this guy has got it in spades. His sweep picking is jaw dropping. Perfect arpeggios - never misses a note. Very , very brilliant indeed. However , I still prefer Ritchie Kotzen @ this time. He's a bit more musical and his hybrid picking technique is second to none. Just one assholes opinion. Peace out .....
Lots of harmony all throughout the song. The song is far more than just arpeggiated. The man is a virtuoso - every note is chosen for maximum effect. Playing fast =/= no emotion. Correct, nothing insane about it, just brilliantly done.
Freaking amazing, but you may want to add "solo" as a tag, lol. Also, what is the effect that makes it sound kind of like he is playing 2 notes at once when he is only playing 1? Is that the effect of a harmonic pedal?
I am not goin to sit around and argue, but I have done a detailed analysis of the tech of various guitarists. Satch has mastered EVERY tech you can name. He plays various styles such as blues, flamenco, prog metal, etc. I know that he is a human, but his melodicity and dedication makes me a big fan (I dont really worship him, its just an expression dumbass) ......
not that its not already absolutely awesome. but i think it could have sounded better with a few minor changes to the amp effects. but this man is incredibly skilled no doubt.
i agree with "axovelleBY9" , he certainly does have a different style, if you neccessarily need to compare him to malmsteen, but there is no need to because like xXxAsiLayDyingxXx says, there is emotion in this kind of playing aswell, and those who claim there isn't simply doesn't have an understanding for it or just can't hear it :)
@rampage222555 then again even if you are Kelly Simonz or Syu, being Marty Friedman's rhythm guitarist is one hell of an honour, and if he does pick you, it must mean you've got something special...just look at other guitarists who have played or toured with him, how many others have that privilege?
None of the guys I've mentioned do aimless shredding. Also, melodic value is NOT fully a personal opinion. Any normal human will agree that Joe Satriani's "Always with me always with u" is very melodic, while his song "crushing day" or "Borg Sex" is a little melodic, but a shred number.
that's interesting but doesn't really change my opinion; like I said, I personally do not think that there are that many people at his level(not technique but overall)
I remember watching this in 2008 and being blown the fuck away... I miss those days man, being a little kid with a shitty 150$ Ibanez and being amazed at what I was witnessing in my screen, wondering if I could ever play like this dude (and no, I still can't do half the shit he does here haha)
same here my dude!
spray32 you know if this is some custom guitar or an actual commercial one? I've always liked it's sound
Does anyone know that he plays guitar for babymetal?
@@dog-eb7sg yes he does
One of the best in the world! Always inspiring.
I love this kid!!! How could anyone be better?! Amazing technique, style, feel, and passion! He has it all!
Just because you can't wrap your head around what he's doing does not make he's guitar playing soulless or unmusical.
@@thegerman3480 music is what you want it to be. As a guitarist I can't help but gaze in awe.
@@thegerman3480 it isnt your just a jelous talentless hater

amazing picking technique.
very very clean playing a very fluent player.

So talented!
Impelliterri is everywhere in this song from 17th century chicken picking to boogie, and it's actually cool! The skip string goes even further !
man i love this guy. his right hand technique is amazing. he alternate picks with just his thumb/index finger. im really trying to learn this way of picking because it looks much more efficient. but i always end up moving my wrist...
this is some of the greatest sweep picking ive ever seen
That was superbly executed. Ohmura's technique is very efficient. That usually mean that it is likely to hold up much better under stress.
14 years ago. Are you still alive? 😅
Well that was a pleasant surprise to find this in the recommended section
what he plays at 3:36 changed my life.
It's so god damn good!
a bit hard to believe this guys current job is being a rythm guitarist
damn i want him to teach me his right hand technique.damn relaxed and fast!
3.35 is so awesome, that's true.
This guy is amazing! He's shreding so fast!
Dude, youre awesome! =D
so impellitteri like. so awesome.
wow his picking style is crazy!!!!!! OHMYGOD!!!
2:30 starts the Impelliteri Influence ;)
this guy is amazing
@lordtkn So is Caparison, Ibanez Prestige's are made in Japan, there's still heaps of other options haha.
Listen Emotions in motion Álbum of Takayoshi Ohmura.
DAT ALTERNATE PICKING.
@beeps123 Like Herring said. Strats are a body style. Fender started it with the Stratocaster while other companies deviated from them.

Sounds like synthesia in the background lol,but god dam Takayoshi is nasty, see some Chris Impellitteri influence!
This is the first time I have saw this, I understand exactly why he is called "The Progidy" ,And he isn't so bad now shredding it for Babymetal either :)
this man would eat herman li's soul this is shredding I like to hear
@ProgressiveGuitarist probably cause ESP has an open custom shop - anyone can order whatever they want. Ibanez and Caparison only have CS for endorsers (known ones :P)
he has a phenomenal picking hand
his right hand technique is amazing, hell everything is great
BABYMETAL sure knows ..spotted a Talent, Ohmura is sure Very Talented Guitarist from very young age..
I can clearly see the feeling in this song. I Dunno bout you.
DAMN!!! This guy is the REAL DEAL. Shredder.
of course their are many who can play at his technique-level; but i don't think that everyone is as creative as ohmura(same goes for other well-known guitarists; they wouldn't be well-known if their playing was pure technique)
also this guy is really young and there will be a lot more to come in the future; even he will still be improving
3:35 is so....beautiful =) My favourite part.
Sounds like a Impeliterri's song. Awesome.
Stupid comments. Look at the video and the piece. It's to show off technical vituosity, otherwise he'll play something slower and more melodic and he'll still kick your jealous butts!
the early Takayoshi was very neoclassical... now he's more hard rock, but everything coming from him is fucking amazing!!! ^^
SOUNDS LIKE IMPELITERRI ^^
louissiana?? how many vurtuosos come from lousianna?? besides this guys great and hes still so young he has so much to still learn
So fucking SICK!!!!
@tldn Who said music needs breaks to sound good?...and the song fits good standards. It's just that the melodic riffs he plays are filled with extra unnecessary notes that gives those riffs an interesting touch.

his right hand technique is amazing :o
@Fluffypopcicle dude, he was giving takayoshi a huge compliment.
Oh, you're right, I haven't seen the date.
I thought this was shot at the time his first album was released in 2004.
My mistake.
Amazing!!
Fred (Holland)
that main riff gets my goat.
Takayoshi Ωura !!
Lots of harmony all throughout the song.
The song is far more than just arpeggiated.
The man is a virtuoso - every note is chosen for maximum effect. Playing fast =/= no emotion.
Correct, nothing insane about it, just brilliantly done.
My friends would wholeheartedly agree with me.
Check out Fernando miyata, Gustavo guerra' Cesar Huesca or Mattrach.
@ProgressiveGuitarist Because ESP Japan sponsors many young j-artists in rock and metal
the second part is very similar to 17th century chicken picking by chris impelliteri...check it out!
as long as im around, he'll always be second best!!
-mikio fujioka
Wow!
@KuraNigh you can always go to japan and buy one :]
Those Hughes&Kettner's are hot, I want one.
HOLY SPIT!!! \\ROCK ON!//
monster..................
Freaking amazing, but you may want to add "solo" as a tag, lol.

extremely well done imitation of 17thCCP
your name immediately declares your argument apocryphal.
new japan man 😎

perfect picking
man it would sound so much better if he made some gear modifications but i guess he definetly made due with what he had that was still great
17th Century Chicken Pickin' to the max.. wow and Eye Of The Storm too.. did this guy study from Impelliterri?!?!?!
@Solidiquis Economy picking my friend very difficult to do but very helpful saddly i cannot do it very well lol wish i could do it like this guy
T.Ω. owns!!!
@Solidiquis by wearing leather pants. try it some time. just put them on and somehow incredibly (dont ask me how) you can pick like him
practice, practice,practice!!!
not that its not already absolutely awesome. but i think it could have sounded better with a few minor changes to the amp effects. but this man is incredibly skilled no doubt.
@KuraNigh luckeeeeeeeyyyy :P I would like to go there myself, good luck with getting one :D hope you get what you look for
SUGOI!
asian chit san maung amazing solo
@killerbiene243 very technical!
@jocelyn2276 he's actually 27 but he was 23 when he performed this
pleasant surprise
This is an old video. Can he still shred like this? I'm going to find out!
3:19 sounds like "i'm going home" from alvin lee
i agree with "axovelleBY9" , he certainly does have a different style, if you neccessarily need to compare him to malmsteen, but there is no need to because like xXxAsiLayDyingxXx says, there is emotion in this kind of playing aswell, and those who claim there isn't simply doesn't have an understanding for it or just can't hear it :)

この頃から抜きん出て上手いな
he's frets has a scalloped style haha!

kick ass !!
Pretty sure the album is Nowhere to Go.
@jocelyn2276 but yes he's very young to have that talent
Which means the description is wrong i guess
@ProgressiveGuitarist maybe because ESP is a japanese brand.
xD
lots of impelitteri!!!!!!
17th chiken pickin stuff!!!
and uh ............race into the light stuff
guitar playing starts at 0:55
Yea man ESP's the huge thing in Japan. EVERYONE has an ESP. All custom.
@KuraNigh ahh.. thats too bad, I want one of those guitars xP
does anyone know where i can get this song? its not on itunes
i am wondering, is that a esp vintage plus or is it some custom stuff?
plus theres no reason for a tempo change because the song sounds badass the way it is anyway
Yes, he is 25 now, but at the moment this video was made, he was 20.
song name,please???????....i search pleasant surprise by yjm but i don't find nothing..
that's interesting but doesn't really change my opinion; like I said, I personally do not think that there are that many people at his level(not technique but overall)
