Imo, it's my least favourite album, aside from a couple of stellar songs, such as, "Lord of the Last Day" and "Feed my Head."

DIO was nothing to do with actual METAL!! His bands were HARD ROCK, but not HARD enough!!!

Hard rock = AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Rainbow, GnR
Sabbath = beginning of metal/hard rock
Metal = Maiden, Priest, DIO, Venom, NWOBHM
Thrash = Big 4, Big 5, German thrash
When metal got faster it became thrash.
Solo DIO is definitely metal. Listen to Holy Diver and Last in Line.That's classic metal (per most people) although not the twin guitar metal attack of Iron Maiden. Nowadays people just use the word metal to call anything metal, even stuff like: Korn, Slipnot, Marylin Manson, Ghost, 5 finger Tool, etc.
