I Cannot get over how he can pick a different melody (Dr Dre bit!) over another melody (his song!), while Rapping so Fast too!!!
People have no idea just how difficult that is!!!
Ren puts so much thought into everything. I appreciate how he adapted it to pay tribute to Dr Dre and Snoop since he was in LA.
I hate being that person who always seems to say, "I prefer the live acoustic version," but damn, how can one not? And this is no slight against the studio/MV original, which I also love. Many thanks, great reaction as always!

It’s not long since he recorded this while visiting LA. Maybe that’s why the nod to Dr Dre and Snoops Next Episode is in there too. I think the Biaaaaatch is also a nod to Snoop.

I'm not sure if you picked up the Easter eggs Ren dropped as nods to his musical influences, here's what I noticed. Ren's giving homage to Barrington Levy & also Damian Marley's "Welcome To Jamrock" in his new opening (In the streets they call it MURDER) . Ren also gives homage to Dr. Dre with the guitar riff after the word (Blood Splat) from Dre's "Next Episode" ft. Snoop Dog. Also after the Toblerone line he say's "Beeotch" this time instead of "Bitch" which he said in the original track, this is a homage to Snoop Dog who made that slang word famous. All this was added probibly because he's recording this in L.A, when he was on holiday from his treatments in Canada for a few day's. ❤🤯❤. Also, Ren's guitar solo was an homage to another one of Ren's musical influences Django Reinhardt. Reinhardt was probibly one of the most famous Jazz guitarist who; if I'm not mistaken, was actually the 1st person to bring Jazz to the UK. In my humble opinion, that was very much a 30-40's Jazz riff reminiscent of Reinhardt's music. Let me know if you agree or if you think I'm just reaching Jeff 😁. Until next Rensday, Cheers for now.

Another great reaction, I love your enthusiasm for Ren and can’t get enough! Here’s a suggestion - why not do all 4 ‘Love Music’ parts in one go? (Part 4 being his most recent release.) Part 3 is one of my favourite things he’s done. So much fun, vocal acrobatics and even impressions. It’s a winner!

Your comments about his careful and clever arrangement of this acoustic version and interplay between the guitars are interesting. I was struck by his great vocals, perfect pitch and the sound quality of this outdoor recording. Someone mentioned he might have been using a Zoom Mike, as well as the ones we see. I don't know what that is, but whatever they used, it WORKS!
Another Reactor was 'certain' that was the LA Skyline. Maybe, but I thought he was back in Canada? I also thought I saw a plastic hospital ID band on his wrist!?
If so, did he duck out of a clinic somewhere, temporarily, to go up this hill overlooking the city, to record this?!? Questions! Regardless; a great Live performance, which, in many ways I prefer to the original clip.

I think Ren does the acoustics for us mostly. There is a goodly number of us that prefer the intimacy of these. He actally did a poll regarding what people would like for a concert. I also think he likes thst persoal, live connection. He loves his busking and has said he misses it
My favorite part of this performance is that he plays The Next Episode by Dr Dre & snoop dogg WHILE rapping that crazy second verse. Amazing!
I thought surely this Renesday would be the one you'd get to this and you didn't disappoint. Thanks for bringing up the idea of planning, I think it's easy to overlook due to the campfire-esque vibe but to divy up the parts, as well as incorporate the references, the original Murderer (Barrington Levy) in the beginning, not to mention the tried and true "out in the streets...", as well as the later Dr. Dre reference. I just love how he doesn't mail in an "unplugged" version but thinks about how he can make it unique.
Loving RENsdays!!! His for Joe is one to watch if not react too as well! Similar backdrop, much more beautiful! And it has some of his Su1cide lyrics... but whole different vibe! Much like his acoustic versions do!

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Ren develops. He is, or they are, as there's clearly more than Ren involved, more than just a musician. Song writer, musician, producer, location researcher, sound, video producer, and the list goes on. His videos cover almost every aspect of performing art, yet there are so few involved. Does he continue as a musician or go off in another direction. So much talent in so many areas. Yes, I look forward to where this leads, and how it influences others. Exciting times ahead.

I read somewhere that Ren got a new Martin guitar about the time for this video. Ren makes it sound so good. I'm partial to Martins since my mom had 2 of them (RIP Mom).

All of us used to sing and play leads at the same time, know how difficult it can be, until the muscle memory sets in. But I'm not sure everyone else are aware about how easy it is to slip up. So it's really impressive when he raps fast in one melody while playing the lead in another, of Dre and Snoops "Next episode"!😊

The more i listen to Ren The more he reminds me of a young Manu Chao (singer of the Mano Negra)
Solo songs like Bongo Bong or Clandestino. Or songs like "Out of time Man" and "Pas assez de Toi" from the Mano Negra. I am sure Ren would enjoy Manu Chao as both are quite "out there" and talented to no end!

Brilliant analysis as always, I’m not a musician but I love music. I’m drawn to Ren and not just because he went to school with my daughter! Normal listening for me would be Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd etc. but Ren resonates somehow. I can’t wait to see your next reaction.

I get the feeling you would have an amazing beard if you let it grow out a bit. Like an inch to an inch and a half. If it were me, I would let it grow for 90 days to see where it wants to lay and then shape it.

A suggestion: people are watching to see your reaction, maybe make yourself the bigger portion of the video. Just about everyone tuning in has seen the original.
I appreciate your comment but as soon as I do that I will get a dozen comment asking me to make the artist bigger so they can get more into the video. The way it is now has proven to be the way most of my viewers prefer. Go figure hahaha.
