Thank you very much and appreciate Harsha for sharing such a valuable knowledge . I always confuse on how compounding works in stock market when people say stocks are best way to compounding. If 100 INR stock turns 950 INR in around 20 years, it would be like 12% compounding i think. But we are not sure whether if that stock reaches 950 INR . Can you please enlighten us on this

But sir what about the investors like Buffet who hold stocks for long term(10/20/30 years) So why they do not sell their stocks at high pe and buy back at low pe according to the trade cycles in the economy.Also,companies eg. D mart are even better at 100+ pe because they have so much profitability.

Hi Ashay,
Great question.
See, All PE will tell you if your investment is over-valued or under-valued. In specific cases of long term holding, shares are held irrespective to the PE because you will never loose in the long run.
PE Ratio is just a tool whereas in long term investing in fundamentally sound companies is the safest bet out of the lot.
A lot of Fundamental Investors prefer PE Ratio to buy and sell which is also very effective.
It all depends on the investor himself.
