Anyone remember when Pot Noodles had little bits of dried veg in it? Now you get a token pea.
U call that stuff veg it was like dry toilet paper with weak ass flavour
I would like a week on what you normally eat, it would be really entertaining
Nope.
Mike doesn't know how to cook, it would not be fun. Mike does X cookbook would be a lot more fun, make him try to do something.
@@callynd Well, Grace will do/does the cooking anyway 😄
This is what he normally eats
And have him cook it too. The whole lot would end up plastered in grated cheese.
Even though this is a long video I much prefer to watch it this way than the usual 7 instalments which are often full of repetition. Hope you'll continue with the format.
Agreed usually by day 5 it feels like going through the motions to get to the end of the week. Single video allows for tighter cuts/edits. Downside being needing more videos to cover the same amount of video.
Agreed... I just watch the last video for a summary but usually I forget and skip the whole thing altogether.
100% agree!
Clown 🤡 why not watch in 4 ten minute bits. 😡
Far too many people in the comments have main character syndrome.
29:15 I really like how u added B-roll whilst you summarised similar meals. New camera angles too! Solid production addition 👌
golden nogger to you
no hot dogging during this 'week on' for sure
I love you three.
We need an OSW Jeavons collab
A winner is Mike
My brother got a job with golden wonder in the late 70s. Imagine my face when I came home from primary school to see a tower of chicken and mushroom pot noodles in the living room. My mother shouting at my father for eating jungle fresh peanuts in bed was another great memory....
This format works 1 ) for the current YT algorith, the title fits very well for it as well. 2) as much as i love the daily uploads they do tend to repeat by day 4 or 5 so having condensed version helps fix that problem.
Pot noodle really knows their target group. Giving all the debressed students some motivational one liners to cheer them up.
You know it's a real week on when Mike starts talking about his poops
I guess the only issue would be the lack of real nutriention and the explosion of sodium intake which will make you lethargic given the time frame.
And death from gut ache
I dread to think about his blood pressure.
I think combining the week formats into a single video is a good idea honestly. As you mentioned its less work and you don't have the problem of views dropping off. There have been week ons where by day 4 things got really boring (a lot of the diet kits for example get old very fast)
Heads up about Monosodium Glutamate at 4:23 It's mainly called MSG. It just helps amplify the flavor profiles, it doesn't actually taste much of salt, it just brings your tastebuds alive a bit more..!
Used to be the blame for diahrea/headaches from chinese food, but soon proven that it didn't have much of an effect and after testing, it was rare for it to provide any side effects.
Often made as a side product from soy sauce/fermentation products, naturally found within tomatoes, especially if you salt the tomatoes. It's a wonderful ingredient and I would recommend having it in your cupboard for chips! Disodium inosinate I don't actually have but I know it's used to help bring out MSG's effects better and combined it just overall brings out the flavors more.
I love msg 😍
Love the new format! Really looking forward to seeing more week ons like this. ☺️
When it comes to pot & supper noodles, I always squeeze the pot all around & spash the pack of supper noodles to break them up it soaks in the water quickly then just leaving them to go through a solid one😊 oh it's always best to put the sauce in after it has soaked the water in, you'll taste it better😊😊
Love the long-form videos. Can't believe I'm saying this but I want a pot noodle now. Pretty sure I done this challenge a few times as a student (': great work
sitting here on a friday night watching a man eat pot noodles what has my life become !
#british
Worth noting with this longer format, I’ve been subscribed for a long time (was a viewer on a previous account) and this is the only time I’ve been recommended your video on my homepage. The algorithm seems to appreciate the longer average watchtime.
Much better way to do a week on IMO, well done Mike for doing something right. Hope those Pot Noodles didn't do too much damage.
Mike every time ~I see a new series from you I love it even more, keep uip the amazingly entertaining work!
Bombay bad boy is clear, I could eat just that flavour for 7 days
We really need a week on crack 😂
I am reminded of Reeves & Mortimer's Slade At Home sketches and their variously dinner, lunch and breakfast flavoured Cup-A-Soups.
I ate pot noodles a lot in college, usually chili lime shrimp. Being lazy, i would often use the glass of water on the bedstand to make it.
Got a nasty surprise the day I accidentally left Blue Light vodka on the nightstand instead of water. (Still finished the pot cause I was poor.)
You legend 😂
Could you do your studies at the time whilst being drunk?
@@rondonnis6588 I graduated so I guess?
you would use room temp water to make pot noodles?
@@lukebostwick1070 no, I would microwave it first (didn't have a kettle). Hot vodka is not good.
I always over fill my pot noodles because I like to drink the broth after 🤣 but I've never had an issue with them tasting to salty...and I'm not 1 that likes alot of salt...maybe it's because you're underfilling them that they taste extra salty to you
i don't think hes lying its written on the packet lol
but yes watering it down would make it less salty for sure
Dude is just living my day to day
I used to love the bacon flavour pot noodles! They were the best ones.
Every couple of years i see pot noodles on the supermarket shelf and think, haven't had these in a while i'll by some, then after the first mouthful i remember why i haven't had one in years.
I did this once in my younger days. Think it was for around 3-4 weeks, I ate nothing but Bombay Bad Boy ones. I had managed to get a few trays of them for really cheap and I had no money to get anything else, so these were the only option. To be honest, I didnt feel any different, and my weight stayed around the same.
I had nothing but 39p Lidl Snack shots every day for 2 years. They’re excellent. I didn’t get paid until nearly 5 months into the job then had to replay everyone I borrowed money from to commute into work so kept with them for a long while after
MUCH prefer these long videos compared to the multi video series! Cheers Mike
You should've done this video last December they had a limited edition Xmas Dinner pot noodle then. I enjoyed it
Thank you for doing the week on videos. Been watching for a long time. This one made me worried for you. Hope you were able to get rid of that crazy salt and start feeling better. Liking the new format.
really enjoyed having all 7 days in 1 video much better sit and watch a longer video than wait multiple days for them.
love these videos
This new format is amazing
As a kid I was quite into F1 and my usual Sunday afternoon race requirement was a sweet and sour pot noodle (with peas removed), an apple, and a pint of milk! No idea why
Some combination 😅
@@DanskiV2 probably some early teen hormones involved!
I still remove them from the curry one!
@@BeccaB00xox they put them in everything!
@@paulhawker4653 I know! The last one I had must have had 30 of the things in 😬
I salute you! Tough challenge that. I’m interested to know what your first meal was after the ordeal was over
Subscribed for the pain you put yourself through 😂
they say that you pay more for the king pot noodle for less thana normal one the king is only 20% bigger on average normal 0.90p king £1.40 only thats 50p for extra 24g so you can get more in 3 normal than 2 king for the same price so 270g instead of 220g about 50g more for the same price
Welcome back Mike its great to watch your "week on" videos. .😊 Have you seen the Inside No.9. Episode To have and to Hold? If you like Pot Noodles and a bit of dark drama, its worth a watch. Keep up the good work.🙏👍
A week on ramen/dried noodles? Now you know how I feel! 😂
Prefer the 7 video format! Glad you’re uploading again 😎
Great video, pot noodle is my go to at work. I add more water and leave it longer to stew. Works well and not watery
Loved the video 🎉thank you
Love the video but I feel sick even thinking of doing this challenge 😂
The donor kebab flavour and the fusions are my favourite😍
I love the longer style video! Only thing id add is day 1, day 2 etc in post so ppl can more easily follow along
Oof this was rough. Loved every second of it 😂
Loving the new format... enjoy one long video rather than the seven individual ones. Still plenty of Basilness and questionable food choices... nice job Mike!!
man needs to go to the nearest asian market and discover Indomie, Samyang, and Nissin
Samyang's hot noodles are bloody lethal but they're really nice.
Aye, this week on feels like a little bit of a missed opportunity.
You should of made a mega pot noodle at the end and mixed all the flavours together, in your experience do you reckon it would be nice and groundbreaking? Love the content
Shout out to the millions of students who have completed the 3 years on Pot Noodle challenge
Yay! More Mike!
I do, on occasion, eat the Nissin Cup Noodles. Usually either Shrimp or Chicken Terriyaki styles because those are the only two flavours on the shelf in the supermarket around the corner.
i prefer the old format. maybe a meet in the middle where you do days 1-3, days 4-7 and then an aftermath (if needed)
You are doing gods work
Did you clear this with the Country Urban Noodle Testlab kitchen? Surely, Eli was notified of such activety!?
This is making me hungry and I've already eaten some food 😂
I generally have a craving for things like Mr. Noodles and Kraft Dinner a couple of times a year. Then i realize why I don't eat them again and repeat it 6 months later. Must be a nostalgia thing...my memory correlates eating this stuff with childhood and teenage times.
You could have done a ranking / tier list based on your opinions. Maybe on the next one :)
Love this it's a great idea
i only like 7 day weeks on if its a supermarket because you can do price comparisons, you cook and i like seeing other peoples food shopping and weekly meals in general. especially if its the cheap range, redoing them to see the Chane in cost and shrinkflation would be interesting
Simply the best 😎👍
8:03 the camo on that watch is amazing, can't see it at all :)
The response to the donner kebab one 😂😂😂
Have you tried the Korma pot noodle, if so are they any good ?
Leave 10 mins instead of four. Seal top fully and weight it down to make a perfect seal. Stir every couple of mins and replace the lid. That’s some propa cooked noodles for me. 4 mins is not enough to get a good cook on the dried noodles
When I worked in an office I used to keep a case of these stocked in my cubicle. While electric kettles are rare in America we did have a coffee machine with a hot water tap that was more than sufficient. I always liked Maruchan brand best.
I live in America and have an electric water kettle, they have them in the stores, they are not rare
The pot noodle spilling was the lord trying to save you from pickling yourself to death from all the salt 😂
I'm a big fan of the doner kebab flavour myself, really nice flavour
28:28 - Here in Australia we do not have Pot Noodles - we have Suimin Noodles! They have individual sachets for the salt, seasoning, and sauces. So you COULD reduce the salt!!!
yeah there not the same tho pot noodle way better
What was your first meal after? Was there any particular food you were craving? I'd imagine an apple would taste like heaven
I don't know why I ever unsubscribed from you but you're back baby
8:02 Amazing Mike’s bare arm can tell time!😂😂
I hope the manufacturer is watching this
The kettle's going to be working overtime on this one!
‘None of them, so let’s have BBQ’ yeah I wouldn’t know what to have for breakfast noodles either 😂
'A Week On' The Oldest Person In The Worlds Diet
I think this is the way to go. I saw your update video and I'll be honest, I subscribed to your channel back when you were a movie reviewer and still prefer that side of you. While I find Week On entertaining it is hard to get through 7 episodes of a subject. I think this is a good way for someone like me to stay engaged. But I still miss you reviewing movies in a fancy suit!
Agreed. Hearing him tear videos down with British scathing wit is something I sorely miss.
The reason why I subscribed was Infomercialism really (It was by the time I was in my Infomercials rabbit hole) so I hope he does those again as well.
He quit the movie reviews for copyright reasons. Those were great yes.
Lemongrass is the fly-spray taste in green curry.
I never add as much water to instant noodles as it says.
Its like eating elastic bands and snot. The curry ones are ok I suppose.
A week on crack.
A week on alcohol.
A week on bread and water.
These are the videos I wanna see.
Then you need to get your head on straight
@@WWG1WGATRUMPISKINGfr
He's already done a week of egg and wine XD so the above mentions of yours aren't all that hilariously silly.
best pot noodle .... chik mush peel back a small portion of the foil add hotwater to the line use fork to hold down small portion of foil lifted leave 4 mins then stir leave 2 mins and enjoy butter a piece of bread to mop up the soup thats left
"You can make it"
"How do I make it?"
“this is really salty” *puts less water in* “this is even more salty” etc etc
I swear I better see a Pot Noodle butty this week or I'll be mad! 😆
Urgh sounds revolting lol
@@rondonnis6588 You haven't lived 😂
Though calling it a sandwich is generous, typically hold the buttered slice of bread over the pot noodle, fork some noodles onto one side, fold it in half and dig in, letting it drip back into the pot since can be a touch messy haha, don't knock it til you've tried it! (But yes very decisive topic some people swear by it others don't. Maybe it's a regional thing haha!)
@@NerdySatyr it sounds a bit soggy . I'll try it when I'm very poor but I'm not rich now by any means.
this is glimpse of my life as a student in Brighton back in 2010
A week on dialysis :P Thanks for the upload!
Absolutely pissed myself laughing when i saw the title of this, its just a standard week at uni 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just had the donner kabab pot noodle for lunch today, not sure what Mike found so gross about it... maybe they've changed the recipe because it just tasted vaguely meaty and spicy! Lol or maybe my tongue is broken, fantastic content as always Mike!
Yeah I’m wondering if it’s recipe change as I loved the donner one lol
He’s back 😃
Im eating a pot noodle watching mike eat a pot noodle very Meta !!
I bet I'm not the only one who likes Pot Noodle sandwiches.
I dip my bread rolls in them, and I have put the noodles in them as well….loads of butter on the rolls, sumptuous 👍😉🇮🇲
Ok been watching since the British Person days ;) been around a while lol. - For this kind of food - pot noodles I.E similar items I do prefer the longer episode. However, for the larger more varied meals - maybe multiple episodes but just focus on the food? I know your audience as a whole prefers this so its whatever works best for you mate. Cape Cod, MA USA ;)
I've never said this to another man before but I like your kettle.
Doner Kebab was brought back by popular demand, lol
Fill level.. not to be mistaken as Philip Neville 🤣
Funnily enough, I did that last week.
The doner kebab one is my favourite 😂
Sorry Mike, early flavours were Curry, Beef and Tomato and Chicken and Mushroom. That was it. Also, fill it to max and then as soon as it will stir, get that dry mixture off the bottom!
Has the peter rabbit chopping board gone? Nice fancy biscuit one i see
