I just remember this anime as a recommendation from a friend years ago... and yeah There are some funny moments but at the same time you feel awkward or disturbed
Kumeta leaving hints of his manga's ending to Shaft knowing full well they'll probably won't adapt the entire manga into anime and there's still a couple years before the manga ends is just insane.
yep 100% with you, the first anime got already approved with the series going over a year, so the 1st op almost 6 years before the ending already hinting the ending always leaves me speachless, author is really a master of his craft
Yeah, I call those "un-spoilers" or "non-spoiker": future plot bits presented with so little of the context needed to make it mean anything, it spoils nothing
That chorus still one of my favorites of all time like holy shit they didn't just cook they fucking conjured that, and even that's not all they had the audacity to have Gekidan Inu Curry create some of the most memorable imagery potentially ever, in any visual medium, i love this aesthetic so much.
Watching Madoka Magica and falling in love with the aesthetics of "Witches Barrier" I'm not in Despair finding this artstyle again has taken me out of Despair
The OP really out here giving all kinds of hint that i never knew existed until you read the manga and watched the ops again lol. What a great Anime and Manga.
By hiding it under a full minute and 30 seconds of information overload and also being smart enough to put it in an ova after the main animated series has ended with no true intent to continue it further…duh.
I remember when this was still on going and the author said this at the beginning of the series "7 years from now, we will all be laughing" Then he finished the manga and everyone lost their minds.
I never read the manga. But I decided to read that last chapter anyway. Holy shit the foreshadowing is indeed fucking crazy. There's no way somebody would have understand that back then🤣

'Tis merely foreshadowing, as the reveal itself was so left of field that no one would guess it from some anime openings.
