- OK... THIS IS CRAZY COOL! A Resin Art Video by Daniel Cooper
Here is a Resin Art video of me experimenting with UV resin and hair shampoo, OK, the results are not going to be to everyone's taste, but, I think it's still pretty cool and it has given me more ideas to play with! As mentioned, a big shout out to @DuncanCustomAirbrush for the inspiration to try the wires! Here's Duncan's Vid below where he tried this technique:

I love this my friend and I appreciatethe mention!! The colored resins look AMAZING and so many possibilities!!
Thanks Duncan 😊😊😊 No problem 😊 Looking forward to more resin vids 👍
I know this is very different, it's definitely not going to be to everyone's taste, however, I have already tried dipping one if these in my dipping resin and it came out looking like Amethyst! 😳 There is potential here 😊
Put it in a nice round bubble somehow. 😉
I love the idea and results, one of my favorites.
Would make a cool sun catcher.
Why not make a small loop in the top and pop a bench in. It would make it easier to turn .😊
Pencil in
Couple things I thought about while watching;
Maybe slide the wire down into the shampoo and then sweeping it up through the resin to get the top that is left open.
Also, maybe putting the resin in not in a filled in area but with an open middle so when you swirl the wire through, it's not such a solid chunk to see how that turns out. Just thoughts...! I would try myself but I can't currently afford to be so liberal with my resin as this technique requires. Good job on the projects and I agree and appreciate your open mindset about learning and being inspiring to each other through this video sharing method. It's a strange sort of brainstorming collaboration almost to do things this way, and it's good to seize it as an opportunity, not view it as a creator and poser type of situation, kudos! 👍
Awesome shout out to Duncan Custom Airbrush. He is insanely talented. You amaze me with your experiments🤯 ! Brilliant
Thank you 😊 Yes, his vids rock! 🤩
It is not copying, its flattering to a designer to have someone take their work and use it as inspiration. We all have to learn somehow,so repetition is the best way to go about it. This is so interesting to me,and im so glad ive found your channel!❤
100% true 😊🥰 Thank you 😊
This is cool Daniel. Once you have the first dip done, you could immerse the piece and draw lines of coloured UV resin on the surface of the shampoo, then slowly pull up and turn the piece to create a pattern.
Thanks Patricia, that's a great idea! 😍🤩
My thoughts exactly, Patricia!😊
Thought that too. Bet that would cover the top area well.
I know late comment, yes glad you acknowledge Duncan's efforts, it's all a collaborative affair. Thank you both for the inspiration ❤
There is always going to be someone in the group that tries to bring down the vibe. We will pay them no mind. I love watching your videos because you are always so positive even if things go awry.
So true! Thanks as always Mike 😊
❤️🤗🕊️
There's no such thing as a failure, only learning opportunities.
That last one with the pink, the coral colorfade was stunning. Definitely see that as a pair of earrings!
Thanks Duncan 😊 Much appreciated 👍 😊😊
When many minds come together, nothing is impossible, think of how many great things have been accomplished through the inspiration of one collaborating with the different perspectives of many others (medicine, bridges, airplanes, space exploration, deep sea exploration). You did justice to someone else's inspiration 😊
inspiration is the greatest gift you can give others and yourself , It’s what pushes things forward. Sharing is what bonds creatives together and being generous is important in life it is how we evolve . x
That's a nifty effect, kind of reminds me of rock crystal candy with the pastel colors. Very cool. You and Pouring Your Heart Out have inspired me to take the plunge, I got a beginners kit and have begun playing with it, I hope to get my granddaughter interested. Thank you!
Thank you so much 😀 Yay, have fun 😊
That candy is what I thought too!
Ohhh, I wonder if you could use you glue thickened resin…. Might not drop as fast. 🤷🏼♀️ sooooo cool and interesting! ❤️
Thanks, will test that soon 😊😊😊
Hi Dan, I like it so much. Two ideas: #1 Making the top of the wire a T shape may help with the grip. #2 While the crystal is submerged the second time .. no light ... dribble resin down the wire enough to fill cavity void of resin, turn on light and swirl. This is so much fun!! Have a great day.
Great ideas Anita 💡 😊😊
Makes me think of a stormy ocean, smoke swirling, and cotton candy/ candy floss 😊❤
Love your experiments Daniel.
Thanks so much 😊😊🥰
Oh, now, those are just cool, Daniel! I'd wear them! 😊👍💕
9:04 It's starting to look like rock candy. 😂
Everyone is going to be trying this out. I'm going to be watching experiments this week.
Did you see what Tea Nad Art did with your putty idea?
Thanks, yes, she did an amazing job with the putty! 😍🤩
Oh my the Prof is at it again. Thank you Daniel for sharing with us. And thank you Duncan for your advice.
Thanks Irene 😊😚
It is a lovely effect. To finish, cover the rough spots with your thickened clear, it would make a gem. Thanks for your experiments.
Cool idea, maybe attach the wire to an inexpensive resin paddle mixer to spin it.
Im LOVING this!! They look so unique...no one would be the same!! I think theyre STUNNING!! 💜😍💜
I think they would make great pendants. Love them.
Thank you 😊
That wrapping of the resin looks so cool! Love it Daniel!!! ❤ You are amazing and always laughing at yourself and just always being kind.
Thank you for sharing! And I truly mean that! Big hugs 🫂 to you.
Thank you so much! 😊
You really like to experiment (play) don't you love watching your endeavors in creating new techniques 😊
Thanks, yes, I sure do 😊😂
Absolutely not copying. You always give credit to the original artist for the inspiration, just as others do for you. I can see the amazing possibilities with this method 🖤
Thanks 😊 It wasn't meant that way 😊
These are so coool!!! Can you do this again but make big spheres with lots of dips (bigger shampoo bottle probably lol). Maybe do one just clear but between each dip attach the nail art powders and on another magnetic nail varnish - it would layer those colours in a crazy way! If they are spheres or other random shape depending on how you build the support structure (could play with the colour wire of it too) you could turn them into lamps which i bet would be epic, highlighting the inner structure and givijg off great shadows!
You need one of those rotating display stand so you can just keep your hand still and container will move around. 😄
There needs to be a love button!
Thank you 🥰
Wow! Awesome idea to take what you did to the next level. And then you come back and take it up a notch or two. ❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
I love how they all turned out! This gave me many ideas to try! Thank you
You are so welcome! Thank you 😊
Those are so cool! I really love them!
I love this!!!! Great job!
This is cool! I’m glad you expressed copying. Totally agree! Inspiration! Group effort!
Thanks so much! 😊
Looks awesome Dan!
How cool! Love these experiments!
This is really amazing !!! I cannot wait to try it ! It is really cool !
Very unique, it looks like cotton candy possessed 😂 it does have a huge potential to be something great, I know you’ll pull it off. ❤❤❤❤ thanks Daniel
It does doesn't it 😂 thanks Maddie 😊
I can just say..Amazing!!!!😊❤
That first one with the blue weirdly quite pretty x
Thank you 😊
WOWZERS 😮😮😮😮😮😮 SOOOOO COOL
This is so fun and interesting! Wonder if you could start with the wire in the shampoo, sort of on its side, and then drizzle the resin over it as you turn it. Would need a flatter, more open vessel for the shampoo, though.
That sure made some crazy shapes. 😊
Thanks Bob, sure did 😂
That is wild!!! I love it!
Thank you 😊
I’m going to rename you “Professor Cooper” our very own mad scientist! 😂 you got some amazing results there!
😂😂😂 thanks Anna 😊
I'd love to see an experiment of layers of shampoo and resin poured over ice chips with bits of twisted wire connecting everything.
Idea comes from hot wax poured over ice to make holey candles.
I think it would make a gorgeous sun catcher.
Oooh, I'm trying to picture it but I can't 😔
Looks so cool. Love your work, really gets the inspiration going.
Thank you 😊
WOW!! Stunning and unique!❤
Thanks Dolli 😊 🫂
It has a Voltaire flair lol. I can see tortured souls, and elements of water, so maybe even a Poseidon type atmosphere. Very cool 💕
Thank you 😊
That is really cool! I can't wait to see what you come up with next!❤
Thank you! 😊
I love this can't wait to try it.
Thank you 😊
So cool! Reminds me a little of making lampwork glass beads
Thank you 😊
Love this! These are beautiful!!!! Again you hit a resin home run!
Thanks so much! 😊😊
Unusual, love it 👍Thank you 💖
Thanks Alison 😊 So very unusual 😂
Sir, not use to putting comments but man! I really respect the content and creative energy you put in the work! Thank you for sharing us and the community !❤ Always very inspiring and always watch your video!
I appreciate that! Thanks so much 😊
Love this Daniel. Looking forward to more experiments with this genius technique ❤
Thanks as always Dale 😊🥰
I love your experiments. They give me so much inspiration! You’re brilliant.
Thank you 😊
Great experiments Daniel love all your work 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you 🤗
Love to see the jewellery you make of them, they are amazing!
Thanks Sue 😊
I love it even the first go-around❤
Thanks 😊
I love your intuitive play!
Thanks 😊
Hallucinant !!! C'est magnifique !!! Merci Dan 😘❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
this is cool, i wonder what it would turn out if after the initial swirl you did an up and down plunging movement
This is awesome! I love the black! My husband and nephew have been obsessed with the new spiderman game so I definitely wanna try this venom looking experiment 😁 thanks for all your awesome experiments! 🙌
Thank you 😊
Amazing!
Thanks Deb 😊😊😊
Well done these look really cool.
Thanks Kim 😊 🫂
Loooooveeeee it ❤ gonna try some tonight… thanks 🙏
Thank you 😊 Have fun 😊😊
Thanks!
Thanks so much for the Super Thanks 😊 😀
I watched Duncan Customs video after yours which was totally worth it for the Daniel impersonation. I loved that some didn’t work too well after a product swap. Made me realise sometimes it doesn’t work like yours 1st go but to have fun either way. Thanks for sharing your amazing experiments!
He's great isn't he! 😂
@@daniel..cooper He had me smiling the whole video. Very funny fellow!
So cool! About the coolest thing I have ever seen
Wow, thank you 😊
Another fantastic experiment - I’ll need to check out Duncan’s video now. I loved the “Venom” pendant most but the other two were fabulous too. Thanks again for all your experimentation, making it safer for us all to try these things. Can’t wait for the next one 😊
Thanks so much 😊
I love your experiments. You are really interesting and creative. We all inspire each other and we better ourselves by trying new things. Keep going! We will all learn together right!
Thank you so much! 😊
Love the free form dips. And inspiration is not copying it's just exploring techniques and ideas.
Thanks, so true 😊
What if you start with the colored UV, then find a way to encase the whole capture in a smooth clear epoxy or UV bubble? You would see the crazy design with color inside, but it would make it more smooth for wearing as jewelry. It would be similar to blown glass..
Another idea is taking a filament like fishing line and attaching a pattern to your wire? I imagine that line capturing the resin in some interesting ways.
That's a great idea! Most of the pieces were really smooth, just some odd bits but not overly sharp 😊
Very cool 👍🤩👍
Thank you 😊
I love watching your experiments even though resin is not a medium I actively dabble in. And I really respect your attitude that while so-in-so was inspired, and tried something you’d put out as content, it in turn inspired and got your creative juices flowing in turn. 💕💕
I wonder, if you wanted things further up, if you partially submerged the wire frame, then added resin if it would cover the areas you wanted with a little more control? I do love the idea of putting things in a drill to get a more consistent spin… would a dermal or nail file have more adjustable speed settings then a traditional drill I wonder?
Thanks, I will test those ideas next time, I have a few spinny things I can try 😊😂
Fascinating to watch.. very crystal like..❤😊
Thank you 😊
Thank you so very much Daniel Cooper!!!! I intended to try resin many moons ago and purchased the resin along with a few other things. Unfortunately life got in the way, so the Resin etc was packed away in the box room. Since then I concentrated on paper crafts and forgot all about the resin, until Marion Emberson gave you a shout out on her channel. After watching only one of your video's I was hooked and have subsequently caught up on possibly all but certainly most of your video's. The video's that intrigued me the most were the petri effect and the sinker. So off to the box room I went, fully expecting the resin that had been sitting there for who knows how long to be useless. Rather than waste money, I decided to see if this resin was still usable for experimentation purposes and it was [it was a good quality resin]. I also made up some alcohol inks with mica powder and would you believe I had some white pigment paste; I was on a roll. Did the necessary last night, and have just de-molded. Almost Eureka!!!!! there was some slight evidence of the petri effect, which of course means I need to work on the sinker [in process as we speak] and had my colours not been on the anemic side [more work required] the final products could have been usable. Actually my test piece, which was a coaster, is usuable, it certainly works with red wine; haven't tried it yet with white wine. Not sure what your background is, but you are a natural teacher!!!! and I speak from experience
Yay! So glad you decided to take the jump Tish! Congratulations on your experimenting also! It sounds like you have sucked everything up perfectly and are now putting the info into action! So happy for you! 🥰🥰🥰 Well done Tish 😊😊😊🤩
🎉I love ❤️ your experiments. They are so very cool 😁 😊
Thanks so much 😊
A shout out to Duncan and youfor sharing!
Thanks Lisa 😊
❤so cool
Very cool Daniel. I really enjoyed that experiment. It was seriously suspenseful.. ‘What’s it gonna look like now?!?’😆 There is a lot of potential there. I wonder how it would look with an opened back bezel? Maybe a heart one? Thanks!❤
Thank you 😊 Yes, that could look crazy! 😍
You should try this with a string with little knots in it to see what you get! Looks like fun!
Maybe the silver ball necklace strings would be really good for this?? Also I'm curious what would happen if you put the copper wire in the soap then added the UV resin and raised the wire out as you had it spinning under the light?? You definitely have me curious ❤
Thanks 😊 Will try this soon 😊😊
Fascinating to watch, thank you for your imagination
My pleasure 😊 Thank you 😊
Ok now I’m checking my notifications all the time because I’m waiting for another mind blowing video!!! No pressure Daniel 😂
There are what, close to 7 billion ppl in the world? We learn or get inspired by other ppl all the time! It’s how us humans learn. Pls don’t let that 1 person bring you down. You are an inspiration for me and so many others. You are a rockstar imo! ❤
Thanks 😊 oh no, it wasn't meant like that 😂 I felt bad for Duncan as someone accused him of copying 😂
I love this! I think once the initial base has been established, I'd just pour some resin directly onto the piece and then plunge into the shampoo to cure.
Thanks, yes, that's a great idea 😊
In order to get the top of the piece perhaps you can dip the wire in first, THEN drip some resin in before you turn the UV light on. I find this all fascinating!
Will be trying this next time 😊😊😊
Resin ropes/webs! This is so cool! I think I'm gonna try this, but instead of an open wire I'll use a stone to see what the ropes/webbing does! So excited to try this!
Thanks, have fun 😊
I like that wrapping effect. I wonder how it would look if you took a resin heart from your mold, attached it to the wire then tried this technique to wrap it.
Id like to see how you finished those pieces. Have you already done a video and i just haven't watched it yet?
Thanks for pushing the envelope.
Hugs from 🇨🇦
Personally I think the effect is very beautiful! ❤❤❤
Wow, thanks 😊 It's so different but I'm certain if done in different ways, these can look a bit more gem stone like... if that makes sense 😂
Very interesting technique. Curious to see what you create next. I appreciate how dignified you stated that its not copying. Heck if people want to go there, you'd just about have to say most artists would be considered copy cats. We all started some place.
Thanks 😊 So true 😊
Just a thought if you want just the top of it. To cover maybe leave it in the shampoo and drop some over the top and allow it to drop down over it.
Will try this next time 😊😊
Maybe use a hand drill with the wire mounted in the chuck for easier twisting.
Yes, I thought this during the experiment 😊
Also try taking a pretty stone attached with some resin or glue the doing this I wonder what it would look like!?
Another great experiment, D! Maybe attaching the ends of the wire in a power screw driver or drill. Turning it faster may make it less globby... Don't think that's a word. 😂 V
Thanks, yes, will try that soon 😊😊
I love your imagination. Heads arms Venum he was pouring resin onto it while the lite was on. Free fall resinart yeah
Thank you 😊
Cool
To fill in the top part try putting the jewellery piece in the shampoo first then squeeze in the uv resin over the bare parts, spin the jewellery piece whilst curing with the uv lamp.
Yes, will try this next time 😊😊😊
Fun!!
Thank you 😊
I like these. Maybe something to turn slowly, like an electric stirrer?
Thanks, worth a try 😊😊
