Hello, please tell me - in the intro you are doing hit-up-hit-down-up all the way through, yes? It sounds like there is a lot more going on, thats just skill? Thank you very much for this video, id love if you would do more on the topic ❤
@@UkuleleGo thank you for getting back! I love the way it sounds, if you ever care to make a tutorial about how you are playing it precisly, id be delighted ;) anyhow, your skill is impressive.
I see all of these cool ukulele percussion videos but I have one question, what's the recommended size of ukulele to get for this, or if size matters at all when it comes to it
The only thing I can say on this is what works for me and that's playing the size that I'm most comfortable with. I go for a concert scale, but that's what I prefer to play for any kind of music
What a *great* lesson, thank you for that!
A whole new world of pain but it sounds great. Thank you.
It does tend to make your thumb sore
My first percussive ukulele lesson thank you Simon !!! 🎉 Lina
I've only ever been called Simon once before in my life, my games teacher at high school. Maybe I look a bit like a Simon.
Amazing thankyou for this tutorial!
You're welcome, thanks for watching
Thank you
Great teaching!
Thank you
This sounds so cool, I'm not really into percussive playing but you're killing it here! Thanks for the great lesson :-)
137 takes for the intro
You are a very good teacher. Thanks for the lesson.

I'm playing a slightly more complicated version in the intro but the same principles apply

Quick question Simon, does it damage the wood of the uke to flick ? Thx 🎉
I need a sheet music of this video , please 🙏
Hi. I noticed you don't have nails but ukulele strumming sounds very clear. Is there any trick ?
I do have nails, they're very short but enough for me to hit clearly on down strums.

@@UkuleleGo Thank you for the reply! I had my eyes on a concert scale for awhile so it's nice to know it's capable :)
@@wesocheesy no problem at all. I'm playing a concert in the video, admittedly I'm not a giant (5' 9") but should give you an idea.
Brain go backwards, flick bridge, hurts
Yeah it does hurt, just take it real easy, hit it very lightly just to get the movement down. You can increase the power later.
i cant figure out how to do the flick. maybe i dont have the finger nails to do it
I really don't have long fingernails, it's not the end of the world if the sound isn't perfect to begin with. It will get better with time.
@@UkuleleGo ok thank you for the advise
