  • The Lockerbie disaster was Europe's worst terrorist outrage, but was it also Britain's biggest miscarriage of justice? This film investigates the case against Abdel Baset al-Megrahi and finds evidence to suggest he may have been wrongly accused.

The people demanded justice and Gauci was used by the authorities. Al Megrahi was the unfortunate lamb to slaughter. Gauci may not be able to live with himself, but the authorities that orchestrated it all certainly don't give a damn. :-/

That Al Megrahi was released by the goverment was a suprise for many, and questioned by several.
People say there was some kind of exchange with Britsh and Lybian politics. In the east it often happens to release prisoners as a polictal sign, as maybe also happend between these countries
9/11 was offcourse nothing else then another reason to go back in to war for the US. Sad to see that many people had to sacrifised, and still are, for the cause of money.

  • @dinoschachten

    Two questions:
    1. Why was the umbrella, being one of the few consistent elements of Gauci's statements, never mentioned in the 2011 Al Jazeera documentary that is referenced here?
    2. No one ever seems to have asked: How did the suitcase get on the plane? Who checked it in? You can't tell me that there's no record of that. Also it's sad that these documentaries never mention how it was determined which items were from the bomb suitcase, and how it was determined that this was the suitcase containing the bomb...
The list of passengers should be THE vital clue to find any connection from those who had the opportunity to check in the suitcase to those who planned this act.
From my point of view there is a lot wrong with both the original investigation (no doubt there!) AND this documentary.
Last time they doubted every document and claimed they were altered later on, now they show us a man who keeps his diary from twenty years ago and happens to have noted down in it when he turned the lights on - and it looks perfectly fresh, like he bought it yesterday. That is not impossible, just highly unlikely.

2 My understanding was this flight was Frankfurt to New York via London. It was suggested as far I can remember that a passenger boarded in Frankfurt on the first leg but got off the plane in London leaving luggage on board. There has been some dispute over passenger luggage reconciliation. Alternatively checking luggage in but not boarding was a possibility.

I think the circuit board was manufactured elsewhere. It looks the same but is not the same. That’s the case with many consumer electronics. Lead is used in bullets and many other other explosive devices subjected to intense heat. And somehow that does not vaporize the lead in those cases.

As the handwritten letter is CLEARLY not verifiable official or even admissible evidence in ANY Court, as it is not on an Affidavit, the entire letter can not be taken as any part of official or even legitimate evidence. As such, at this point, all the questions below come into play, as it is not reliable as evidence.given by Tony G.
This begs the question of possible FAKE documentation to discredit the the evidence used against al-Megrahi.
His release 20 years ago also begs that question.

Still, it's good to have a video to point to when the ill-informed (media-informed) repeat the usual slander that Libya did it. Hundreds of millions keep hearing Libya did it and less than 6,000 have heard about the final evidence coming apart! Tough sell to beat. Maybe there's money to be made. The Lockerbie case was just closed as of 2023 and Gaddafi did not order the Lockerbie bombing but rather Iranian regime ordered the Lockerbie bombing in 1988 and paid Libyan officials to carry out the bombing so nations can blame Gaddafi for the Lockerbie when in reality Iranian gov ordered the Lockerbie bombing.

If you want to find a country with an actual motive then don't look any further than Iran!
In July 1988 an American warship accidently shot down Iranian Airliner 655 killing nearly 300 civilians in Iranian waters.
The crew of the warship received honours instead of a Court Marshall, and the US didn't accept any blame or responsibility for their trigger happy incompetence and culture of looking for "action".
It's no coincidence that Lockerbie happened only 6 months later in my eyes, that was Iran's revenge

To whom was the handwritten note at 20:34 directed? Where was it written? Who wrote it?
None of this is mentioned or shown at 20:34.
As it is handwritten, it CLEARLY is NOT official testimony, as that would be typed and on a form. This is NOT EVEN on an affidavit.

@@Rhiannonganon just because he paid the families doesn’t mean he was involved. He only paid compensation for the victims but denied that he ordered the bombing. It was common knowledge by intelligence agencies and evidence that Iran was behind the Lockerbie bombing who had contracted a group known as the popular front for liberation of Palestine (general command also known as Autumn leaves which was a Syrian based group founded by Ahmed Jibril. There were prior warnings that there were going to be attacks by this particular group and the phone call was even made before the bombing. Jibril right hand man was arrested two months before the bombing in Frankfurt with a bomb maker who was working as a informant for Jordanian intelligence. It’s been confirmed by US officials that they were monitoring pan am factilaties at the airport and the arrest of Egyptian Abu Talb etc. Iranian defector even admitted that Iran was involved in retaliation for Iran air flight 655 which was shot down by USS vinenneces

I don't know why Megrahi's prostrate cancer should be considered terminal. Perhaps this has something to do with Britain's socialized medicine and desire to control its population size.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Sulindac (which inhibit growth and induce apoptosis in human prostate cancer cells) might lengthen his life considerably.

this is how they concluded that he has bought things on that day, because he arrived on the 7th. the issue is that the man who claims he sold things to him is inconsistent in what he was saying, finally, the person would probably be the most honest on his death bed, it is so clear to me that this man is innocent, and evidences were hidden or manipulated just to convict Libya or to push it away from confronting the us policies in the middle east, with out caring for that innocent man, and his reputation, or the right of the victims and their families to know the responsible for that horrible act and get them punished, just dirty politics

The absurd release of the "dying" .al-Megrahi as a "humanitarian" gesture, when al-Megrahi took 20 years to die, is simply to obvious to be ignored as direct evidence of a cover-up by the
