- My husband came up with the crazy new acrylic pour technique, the skewer pour, and honestly I didn't think it would work but it came out awesome :) Let us know what you think in the comments.

Love the end result! Bet you could refine the technique and get even more interesting results. Nice to see a guy involved and excited about the process and using his creativity to suggest trying new things. He's a keeper for sure. My bro was visiting from out of state and I introduced him to pouring while he was here. He couldn't get enough of doing paintings and took home a bunch of his own creations. It was a blast to watch him getting obsessed with pouring. LOL Keep creating together.

Totally cool, and I love that your hubby likes being involved with what you enjoy!!! I sure wish mine would hop in there with me, or at least LISTEN to my ideas lol... But I did think of something as you were pulling the paper towel holder up... What if you squeezed the tube from the top down after you got all the sticks out, and right after you allowed it to flow naturally for a minute... and then pull it up!?! Not a hard squeeze, just gently working your way down so it flows out the holes a little more!?! That may work!?! Either way... I LOVE THIS!!!

Absolutely love it. Looks 3 dimensional. Makes me think of a recently exploded volcano with the eye looking into the crater bit and the lava down the sides. Birds eye view of the volcano

Gorgeous! When you lifted the paper roll the last time and there was that BLOOP of paint, I just had a feeling that was going to be a big thing in the final result! Your husband has good taste in color choices, LOL!

Alyssa - I suggest going to a place (community college? local studio?) where they give instruction on art and enroll in a class, maybe there will be some men participating... I do pottery and though the majority are women, there are quite a few men too. ... or hang around art galleries or museums and see if you find a fellow art lover there!

Wow! That was really cool! I thought you would just pour the paint in the tube and then lift it up like an open cup pour. Running the paint down the sides was a nice surprise! It would be interesting to see what would happen if you stopped the skewers halfway or maybe a little more up the tube and then fill the tube up to the top. Brilliant idea for an experiment!
