They better pay them the same rate they would be making out in the field. LOL

It speaks volumes about a workplace when they have employees that have been with them for multiple years. Usually means the people there enjoy who they work for, love what they do, or get paid well… or all of the above. Love to see it.

Good to see local machine work being done in manufacture. When I say local, I mean Canada/US.

You sure the guy (Cameron Davie, I think he says) welding the eyes on the rod isn't a machine?

  • @CosminCosyCodes

Those are not Robots, they are just Machines.
Machines require direct human input or pre-programmed instructions to function. For example, a dishwasher needs manual activation and preset cycles.
Robots operate autonomously once programmed. A Roomba vacuum navigates rooms without real-time human guidance, illustrating self-directed task completion
A good analog for this is a manual mill, vs a CNC mill. Both are machines, and both need human interaction to perform their tasks. We don't call CNC mills "Robots". Now if there was a CNC machine that could write it's own G Code, and even design it's own CAD files, then we would be in "Robot" territory.

Is it Cam who's missing the tooth? If the whole tooth (including the root structure) is missing, please consider having some work done, like getting an implant-supported crown. A missing tooth leads to long term problems, like bone loss and migration of adjacent teeth (resulting in malocclusion, damaging loading, etc.). Gotta maintain the machinery to make it all last!
Am enjoying your videos - keep it up!

If your supervisor has to put the information in the CNC part. So you can cut the parts I wouldn't hire you that should be your job

Those Faro laser scanners are only good to like 0.002", assuming a good operator and good calibration. That's hardly CMM territory. That's like caliper-grade accuracy. I would expect better from precision hydraulic parts.

This shit is full of classical inefficiencies, process redundancies and a total lack of automation. Looks like your typical American machine shop full of know it alls and backstabbers. China is way better setup to do this same products at a much lower labor costs.
