I have the XJ-1 and it’s WONDERFUL. There’s so many features I haven’t tried yet. The Digital Dual Feed is amazing for piecing and has several soles available for it, like a quarter inch guide , stitch-in-the-ditch, open toe as well as the one that comes standard. I haven’t really gotten into the Design Center, as COVID led to my local sewing shop being closed for a few months.
Have just ordered one direct from Brother here in the U.k. This is the process that our local stores have to follow it seems, ensures that Brother give them little Lea way when it comes to local deals. Still it seems that this will be the last one I will ever need to buy if it lasts as long as my existing one which is still going strong after 25 years. Only problem I had with it was caused by the ongoing process of keep changing the windows operating systems thereby making it partly redundant. It still is able to run on the hundreds of embroidery patterns I made and saved on good old floppy discs. Just run one embroidery off and it has turned out brilliant. Thought you would be interested to learn how long these machines can last although they are older technology.
Wow. I've just bought this machine and am overawed by what it can do. I will have to keep watching your video over and over because there is so much to take in at once..... my brain doesn't work that fast.
@jacquelinelawrence8373 it is an awesome machine which you can be super creative with and always be developing new skills! Thank you for you feedback :)
Wow! Amazing video. Just ordered my XE1 yesterday and I can't wait to get it and start using it. I already have so many projects in my head that I want to make. The possibilities are endless. Thank you so much.
Your videos are just so informative. You mentioned in a video if there was a question I could answer with a video just ask. I don’t know where to ask the question. It’s regarding the StellaireXJ1. I’m in the United States and purchased here but your videos are by far the best.
Hi Judy, we always encourage you to return to the place of purchase. We will try to answer the question should that not be possible for you, please be aware there time differences between Australian and the US and our response may take a while.
what a fab video and so glad I have found it. I am getting a stellaire this week and so excited but clueless in some ways. Will certainly look on your website for more stellaire videos. Thank you
Hi Gary, thank you I love watching your videos, very informative. You’re great at explaining everything about the machines. Really appreciate your guidance
Omg....you are great..tons of information! Thanks so much....and your speaking presentation is not mono toned, I love this video...off to watch more of your videos...again thanks
Hi Gary i love watching your videos on the StellaireXE1 i am still on a learning curve with mine and I have learnt a lot from your video's . But I was wandering if you have any on stitching out a actual photo I lost my dog a year ago and would to stitch her out but for some reason just cannot get it right . thank you
@kathleenholmes8734 Thank you for watching our video. For photos, your machine is only able to recognise 10 colours so your image of your dog will have to be simplified if you can. Maybe take a photo of your dog with a light background to define him better, or a dark background if he is white. The Stellaire is only able to digitise images that are quite simple in nature, not with lots and lots of colours. If you need any further assistance, let us know.
I just got my XE1, what software do I need, I'm still playing with my XE1 and not ready to use it yet, the store that gives class is not ready to open yet, Gary I wish I can pay u, because I learned sew much from u, be blessed and safe.
Good Afternoon, thank you for your kind words. Here is the link to embroidery software you can utilise with your machine: www.echidnasewing.com.au/?rf=kw&kw=Embrilliance
I recently got a XE1 embroidery machine and absolutely love it. Thanks for the insightful information, it is very useful. I do have one question about the machine in regards to "tension" setting, there are 2 places to set the embroidery tension, what is the differences between these 2 and how should I properly set them? Much appreciate if you can clarify my confusion. Thanks again
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely feedback. We are glad to hear you're enjoying your new machine. I would love to support you with your inquiry regarding machine tensions. This will require a little more information from you, if you're willing to share. Please feel free to contact our support team via email - support@echidnasewing.com.au
Hello! For machine embroidery we use these bobbins they are 75 weight - they are beautiful to embroider with! www.echidnasewing.com.au/12xplastic-pre-wound-bobbin-a-style-white-75-weigh
I love your videos on how to use the StellaireXE1. I love the machine but I hate to ask this. why didn’t Brother supply a cover for this machine like they do for any other Brother product sewing/ embroidery machine. thanks for all your helpful videos.
Hello Gary. Thank you so much for this wonderful run through of the machine it really seems like a 10/10. I do have some questions though that maybe you could help me with? If that’s alright? I want to get into machine embroidery and this stellaire has loads of features I really like ie a big screen where you can edit on the screen and the big hoops, I fear that smaller hoops would be limiting. I don’t mind Disney however usually there is an added premium price to Disney productions/ collaborations, is this the case for this machine as well? And if yes what machine could you recommend that has some of the same features as this but without the added Disney price? Also perhaps if there is any merit to getting a machine that comes with an application to digitize our own designs rather than getting it separately/ only using the machine to create? Anyways kind regards and thank you for a well explained and clear run through. Ps I already have a brother sewing machine so I won’t need a function of having both embroidery and sewing.
@opheliaa4882 The Stellaire comes with Disney designs already on the machine ready for you to use. No subscription needed to do so. The digitizing capabilities is great for simple drawings and designs. If you are wanting something more complex and specific, it is better to invest in software, especially if it is for business. In saying that, the digitizing that the Stellaire is capable of is brilliant for home users.
Hey Gary, Thanks for this wonderfull video. Is it possible to Import more Quilt Patterns ( To buy or create some yourself)? Other question- Does the Automatic defining of the outline (20:48) only works for the includet Disney models? so I have to always do it manualy with my own desingns ? excuse my bad grammar. Thanks ahead
The Automatic defining of the shape is only if you are embroidering and putting the quilting around it in the same hooping. The Dream, Stellaire and Luminaires all have this capability. If you are defining the shape from a project you had done previously then you have to draw the outline for yourself first. If you need more information, please give us a call or email.
I love your videos! I have a BabyLock Pathfinder. The Stellaire looks unbelievable! Question: if you download a design online can you automatically send it to machine or must you still transfer to usb.
Hi Gary, I followed you on how to use the design center, and how to add the quilting background to one of the Disney designs, I got it right after four tries, now how do I delete the ones I don't need, thank u.
Hello! This does have embroidery decorative stitches. There is no endless hoop but it isn't really required with the amazing Brother technology which makes it easy to rehoop for quilting!
jumping from a 5x7 hoop to a 8x8 hoop 9.5x9.5 hoop and a big big hoop 14x9 hoop, what size hoop stabilizer do i need for these big hoops and do u sell them?, thank you
Hello! We do sell a variety of stabiliser that are suitable for the larger hoops, here is a link to view them www.echidnasewing.com.au/?rf=kw&kw=stabilizers
Hi Gary, Thanks for taking your time to make this video. I bought my machine about a week ago from Echidna in Glen Waverley and i have been having fun with it since then. I have a quick question please……I merge/ combine another design (bought) with one of the in-built princess and i am wanting to add quilting around them and boarder….Following your tutorial, i can only do this on either the princess or the design at a time….i thought combining them should make them to be “one” design but, my machine don’t seem to recognise them as “one” design even though they are combined. Is there a way around this as am thinking that it may be possible but, may be i just don’t know how to go about it……In case it is not possible on the machine, is there a way to copy the princess to a USB stick and i can edit/ combine on my embrillance software. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon. Kind Regards…Deb
Good morning Deborah, when you have the two designs you are able to group them. Go to page 41 of your manual and it goes through step by step instructions on how to do this :) Unfortunately you are unable to save any Disney patterns onto a usb. You can save to the Embroidery Machine if you need to.
Gary could you, or have you all ready done a video on how to download the app and how to calibrate a tablet. I am not user savvy with apps, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have had trouble getting the tablet to capture the image and send it to the machine. Thanks.
Hi Judy Brother USA have done a series of video's on how to use the App, here is a link to the first one. Once you have watched this video, there are 3 others in the series that may be useful too. I hope this helps! ua-cam.com/video/-Pbx7VHvWsI/v-deo.html&ab_channel=BrotherSewsUSA
thanks Gary i been watching your xe1 videos and i got my machine in the uk today thanks for doing the videos. are you planning on any more xe1 and design centre ones??
Im having trouble getting nice embroideries on sweatshirts. im a bit confused with the tension, i see that there are 2 tensions i can change, the first one is on the settings page and the second one is when you are going to embroider, there's a tension you can change. i don't know the difference and i don't know what number they should be on. what number do you recommend the tensions be on?
Hello! Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there is not a one size fits all remedy for tension. The tension in the settings menu changes tension for the whole machine. The tension on screen in a particular design will change the tension for that design. One of the most important things you could do is invest in a bobbin tension gauge, here is a video on this tool and how to use it. ua-cam.com/video/kdwoqHnmbB8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=EchidnaSewing
When a design has to be re-aligned because of a thread or bobbin issue that it continued to stitch without thread, how an alignment be obtained? I've watched tutorials on older Brother machines but the screen is very different. Can you help me? I love your tutorials by the way.
You would select the icon which has a needle picture with a plus and minus - this is found at the bottom of the embroidery screen. You will then go realign by selecting the numbers on the left.
Can I fuse some stars on a piece of fabric and have it stitch the tackdown and or satin stitch or a decorative stitch around it? Would I have to do that in simply applique and import it from there?
@deannas1515 Yes you can create the applique stitch to go around a shape. You would use the My Design Snap App or a picture image to then use in the My Design Centre.
Hi Gary your videos are amazingly well done, thank you for sharing, can you tell me if you think the Brother Stellaire XE1 could handle EB's or Cubbies (Bears), I was leaning to the Brother VR but this machine looks fantastic.
@staredsky Were you refering to a badge being made with a logo? Here is a link to all our articles on how to create embroideries. www.echidnasewing.com.au/article/embroidery/ Embroidering a logo starts with getting it digitized and then what the clients would like the logo to be stitched on, we try to cover all this with the videos that we have available about doing embroideries :) We encourage people to give us a call or reach out with any questions.
Love your informative videos! Really appreciate these sessions. I have a question for you if I may... I was following your directions on the Disney embroidery and ended up with 6 designs saved in memory. How do I delete these designs? I know I have made an error whilst following the directions(yes, on all 6 of them!). I cannot go past and start a new one as it tells me that this design is saved. Help !! Thanking you in advance
Hi Vasanti you will need to give us more inormation to assist you! Please email sales@echidnasewing.com.au and ask your question. You will need to provide the steps of what you were doing so we can replicate!
Thank you so much for your tutorials. I have a loaner on this machine and considering trading in my Quatro for this machine and I just receive a quilting/sewing machine for Christmas. I was ready to give up on the design features.and just turn this one back in. But... when I slowed down the video and did exactly what you did on my machine, I was able to do ti! I'm testing out the designs now, to see if I can use this machine's capabilities. I have Embrilliance and have it pretty well mastered. I am wondering if the designing on this machine will compliment Embrilliance, or duplicate. Is this just doing an auto digitize, or are their more functions? Can I pick out a small part, like a bowtie and make it the same color as the buttons when one button is a different color? Thank you so much for this video and your others!
The machine does auto digitising, you get to choose what colours you use as you create the design. Very easy to use and fun! A great asset to your home sewing :) and will compliment you using Embrilliance as well.
Hello, I transfer my design successfully, thanks so much, but I have a other question….. for using die snowman stickers I have a problem With app do I need, ore is there a video that you have made? Thanks again for your help 👋👋🥰🥰
So excited to have found this video! I’ve had my Stellaire for over a year and I still am clueless when it comes to MDC. Thank you for showing these quick and simple projects. One question - when you added the stippling around the train, which setting did you use on the app when you snapped the photo to send to the machine? Ty!
So after watching this video and must ask....What makes this machine different from the Babylock Solaris apart from its name? I am seeing the same features. Am I wrong? Or did I miss something?
1. is there any pecific vector design file format i can use and convert into the machine? (like pdf , eps svg or something like that) or i can use only these "photo" input version + predefined elements? i mean a correct convertion is way more acurate then to do a picture. 2. is there a PC Software i can use to create designs on a computer? or it has all to be done on the machine or in a mobile app? 3. can i import new Fonts into the machine any which format those fonts should have? (ttf or otf) ? Thank you for your answers in advance.
Hi Jason, if you were wanting to create from a vector file, you are better off using Hatch Digitiser Software. www.echidnasewing.com.au/hatch-embroidery-digitizer-version-2-by-wilcom It is well know and used by professional digitisers. The Stellaire uses picture files to digitise and create the embroidery files. You are not able to increase the fonts on the machine but if you were to purchase Hatch (or any other digitising program) it usually does include different fonts as part of the software. You can also bring in other TTF to use in the software. If you have any further questions, please let us know
Hallo, I am from Belgium and i like you’re video very much, thanks for so many new things 🥰 I hope you can tell me how can I take a embroidery design from my innovis 2600 to my Stellaire. I tryd to put it to a stick but it doesn’t work. What dit I rong? Thanks 🙏
Evening, how do you stop plucking around the designs, I lay the stablizer down and then put my fabric on but after I finished the project and take it out it puckers. Please help.
Hi there, you will need to check you are using the correct stabiliser and also that you have enough stabiliser. It can also be due to how dense the design stitches out. There is software available which will help with density like the Density Repair software by Embrilliance. Here is a link to the stabiliser guide we have available on our website: www.echidnasewing.com.au/article/product-guides/your-guide-to-embroidery-stabilizers-and-backings
Hi Cindy, if you turn your machine off then on again, it should recalibrate itself. If this doesn't fix it then it may require a visit to a local technician.
Yes you can use pre-wounds, the bobbin is an 'A' style bobbin and here is a link to our pre wounds: www.echidnasewing.com.au/12xplastic-pre-wound-bobbin-a-style-white-75-weigh www.echidnasewing.com.au/12xplastic-pre-wound-bobbin-a-style-black-75-weigh www.echidnasewing.com.au/pre-wound-bobbins-a-style-plastic-sided-white-box Hope that helps :)
You will absolutely love the Stellaire if you enjoyed having the Dream Machine :) www.echidnasewing.com.au/brother-stellaire-xe1-embroidery-only-machine
Hi Vivian Therrien - the best machine for embroidering caps would be the PR1055 using a cap frame. Here is a link for your information www.echidnasewing.com.au/entrepreneur-pro-x-pr1055x
Are you in Australia Milani? You can order it through us if you are: www.echidnasewing.com.au/?skw=Stellaire If you are overseas, please see your local Brother dealer as they will be able to help you find the model equivilent! :)
Good morning Cecelia, here is the link to the Luminaire with the current pricing: www.echidnasewing.com.au/brother-luminaire-2-innov-is-xp2 Thank you for your enquiry :)
No matter what I get stuck on, I return to this video and it helps me find my way. Thanks, I would be lost without it.
Glad it has been helpful for you. Keep on stitching :)
Thanks for sharing! Enjoy your machine.
Brilliant demonstration of the embroidery capabilities of this machine, Thankyou.
You are very welcome!
This is one of the best tutorials for the Stellaire I have seen...it has everything I've been needing to know. Thank you so very much.
You're very welcome!
I have had my xe1 for just over a year, learnt so much from your in informative tutorial, look forward to more Thank you😀
Great to hear!
What an amazing machine, and you are doing a great job showing the machine and all it's great features.
Thank you very much! Great to hear that you enjoyed our video :)
Your videos are brilliant, I love them. Sooo much information here that I didn’t have a clue about! Thanks so much 😀
Glad you like them!
This is the machine I bought from Echidna - love it, and seeing it demoed here makes me excited to go and use it!
Wonderful!
What’s the price??
Have just ordered one direct from Brother here in the U.k. This is the process that our local stores have to follow it seems, ensures that Brother give them little Lea way when it comes to local deals. Live this video! Can you do a photo of a person?
@deniseliscoumb7670 Thank you and in answer to your question, it needs very simplified cartoon-like images due to it being limited to 10 colours.

One of the most important things you could do is invest in a bobbin tension gauge, here is a video on this tool and how to use it. ua-cam.com/video/kdwoqHnmbB8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=EchidnaSewing
Thank you for your very informative videos. I have watched both for the XE1 and the XJ1. So easy to follow and understand.
Glad you like them!
Yes, absolutely!
Excellent vid Gary.
Thankyou!
Gary, how do I delete image from My Design Snap after image has been sent to my machine.
Hi Betty, are you meaning as your background image?
@@EchidnaClub After I send my image to the machine ...how can I delete the image from My snap design saved on my mobile phone.
If it is a picture file, you would delete it in your phone's gallery. If you are not sure, give us a call on 1800 000 360 if you are in Australia.
Hi I have just purchased this product could you give me the lead to your site to watch the tutorial and any information plz thank you
Hi Julie, for our products please look at our website:
www.echidnasewing.com.au/
Sometimes clients ask to embroidery their logo... what about a tutorial about this subject on one of the Brother machines?
@staredsky Were you refering to a badge being made with a logo? Here is a link to all our articles on how to create embroideries.
www.echidnasewing.com.au/article/embroidery/
Embroidering a logo starts with getting it digitized and then what the clients would like the logo to be stitched on, we try to cover all this with the videos that we have available about doing embroideries :) We encourage people to give us a call or reach out with any questions.
@@EchidnaClub thx!
Hi Gary, Can you explain how the applique button works? Thank you!
Hi Cindy, can you please explain which icon you are referring to?
@@EchidnaClub I'm not sure if your manual is the same as mine, but on page 71 it shows an icon that looks like a shield.
Hello, I transfer my design successfully, thanks so much, but I have a other question….. for using die snowman stickers I have a problem
With app do I need, ore is there a video that you have made? Thanks again for your help 👋👋🥰🥰
Hi Rafaella, the stickers are not necessary when using the App. Hopefully this answers your question. :)
@@EchidnaClub hello, how stupid can I be, I looked back the video and now I understand how it work. Thanks again for your help 😉👋👋🥰
So excited to have found this video! I’ve had my Stellaire for over a year and I still am clueless when it comes to MDC. Thank you for showing these quick and simple projects. One question - when you added the stippling around the train, which setting did you use on the app when you snapped the photo to send to the machine? Ty!
Hi Krsty - Gary used the middle App - My Design Center - snap capture with frame for pattern editing.
So after watching this video and must ask....What makes this machine different from the Babylock Solaris apart from its name? I am seeing the same features. Am I wrong? Or did I miss something?
The Solaris is similiar to our Luminaire that we have in Australia. Our brand and names vary from those in the US.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!!!
@MandycandyL337 You are so welcome!
1. is there any pecific vector design file format i can use and convert into the machine? (like pdf , eps svg or something like that) or i can use only these "photo" input version + predefined elements? i mean a correct convertion is way more acurate then to do a picture.
2. is there a PC Software i can use to create designs on a computer? or it has all to be done on the machine or in a mobile app?
3. can i import new Fonts into the machine any which format those fonts should have? (ttf or otf) ?
Thank you for your answers in advance.
Hi Jason, if you were wanting to create from a vector file, you are better off using Hatch Digitiser Software.
www.echidnasewing.com.au/hatch-embroidery-digitizer-version-2-by-wilcom
It is well know and used by professional digitisers.
The Stellaire uses picture files to digitise and create the embroidery files. You are not able to increase the fonts on the machine but if you were to purchase Hatch (or any other digitising program) it usually does include different fonts as part of the software. You can also bring in other TTF to use in the software.
If you have any further questions, please let us know
@@EchidnaClub thanks for the info

Hallo, I am from Belgium and i like you’re video very much, thanks for so many new things 🥰 I hope you can tell me how can I take a embroidery design from my innovis 2600 to my Stellaire. I tryd to put it to a stick but it doesn’t work. What dit I rong? Thanks 🙏
Hi there, yes you can transfer designs from the 2600 to your Stellaire. Check that your usb is functioning correctly as sometimes they can fail. :)
@@EchidnaClub Thank you so much, I try it and let you now 🥰🥰👍👋👋
Can you perform all these things on the j1 as well
@carolegyte3703 Yes you can! The only difference is yours is a combo machine! :)
AMAZING VIDEO!!!! Thank you so much, i have the XJ1 and learn a lot here. :)
Glad you liked it!
Here is a link to the stabiliser guide we have available on our website:
www.echidnasewing.com.au/article/product-guides/your-guide-to-embroidery-stabilizers-and-backings
Thank you for a very fast response, have a great day and stay save. X
How do you recalibrate your hoop if it accidently hit the wall? The manual doesn't show how.
Hi Cindy, if you turn your machine off then on again, it should recalibrate itself. If this doesn't fix it then it may require a visit to a local technician.
Thanks. I hope I don't have to visit the shop.
Your video was so informative, Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Can you buy pre wounded bobbins and if so what size do they take. X

Can I transfer my Embrilliance software from my Pathfinder?
@Kalaura In Embrilliance you can save in any file type for embroidery.
Does this machine require a software, if so does it come with the machine or do you have to purchase it separately?
Hello! This machine has extensive software built into the My Design Centre. It really depends on what your embroidery goals are?
