The 9th #Baithak of #Hamsadhwani [21st April 2018] was celebrated with great musical fervour with the vocal performance by Smt. Aditi Joshi . Aditi has impressive credentials with a prolonged taleem under great stalwarts of music such as Smt. Neela Ghanekar, Pt. Yashwantbua Joshi, Dr. Smt. Veena Sahasrabuddhe, Pt. Shankar Abhyankar and Smt. Apoorva Gokhale.
Post the break, the evening had set in and it was time for some deep emotional melody. Aditi’s selection of Ragas is really to be appreciated. The next one she chose was Raag Rageshree.
She began her Rageshree recital with the ektaal bandish “Ali ri Palakan lagi” and decorated it with beautiful development on Nishad as well as Gandhar and Madhyam, the hearts of the raag. The following drut bandishes were “Lagan lagi tumhare charan ki” in addha teen taal and a tarana “Tana dere na deem tom”.
Aditi sang in diverse melodies and diverse talas, a characteristic that is rarely seen in many artists. One sees the balance of all the influences of her Gurus in her vocalism.
She was ably and aptly accompanied by Sudhanshu Gharpure on #Harmonium and Mandar Puranik on #Tabla. Accompanists played the important role of highlighting and supporting her presentation.
