Off the record is 2 anti tunnel perks in one. 2 years ago, having endurance longer after getting unhooked would have and maybe SHOULD have been it's own perk. I say this cause I ran OTR before the buff unironically.
Do underrated next, for me its empathy. Infinite wallhacks to injured teammates and a lot of the times can give you constant info about the killer bc its really easy to tell if a surv is getting chased or not
Prove thyself often comes in clutch when there's only 1 or 2 gens remaining. Also if all of you spawn at 4-man gen, you can get it cheeky fast even before the killer has chance to check it.
What I usually use otr for is when people return to hook to tunnel mid heal/after the endurance would wear off, that way I can loop them for a bit, take a free hit, and be safe, that or paired with adrenaline if the last gen is close to done, u can then either get the free hit from otr or from adrenaline, plus a 6 second sprint burst (edit: but besides those scenarios I just stick on a gen after getting healed)
I miss the old self care even though it wasn’t super super fast it wasn’t as slow as it is now self care was handy when solo queuing since your teammates are either super helpful or absolutely terrible
I get more value out of off the record because of 100% iron will. Even if killer tries to tunnel you, they can lose you when you’re right under their nose because you don’t make a sound. Very strong perk, the endurance is just an added bonus
the real power of OTR is its anti-tunnel and anti-aura reading. yeah it'll never feel like you truly get value, but the second the killer wants to find YOU, you'll probably have OTR to thank for staying alive.
And technically if you use self care with botany knowledge it’s speed is rather decent, so I think on its own not the best. But used with botany, solid. Might need to take another look at this list.
I don’t really agree with off the record because personally my main motive of running it is not to get tunnelled and so that the grunts of pain r gone. Other than that idc if I touch a gen while off the record is active. But ya I understand ppl misuse the perk and stop working on gens-
Self care, bite the bullet, apoctacry, determination. With a high speed med kit is a great build for being chased on naps with tight corners. Like Doc's map
Anyone who thinks prove thyself is overrated just doesn’t actually do gens I swear. I stopped using provethyself to try other things and my win rate legit dropped by 50% . I was escaping maybe 1/3 matches while using prove and then once I stopped using it I was escaping maybe 1/5 games. And I’ve started using the perk again and lo and behold my win rate as solo que survivor has gone back up to around 1/4 and climbing
a lot of players chose off the record to get this 80 sec endurance but it also make the killer dont see your aura and you arent moaning for 80 secs as well. and 2 last things work even if you touched a gen
Prove Thy Self is good early game when the killer doesn't know what's happening and late game when you need to push gens, self care got nerfed to high hell, and Off the Record got buffed to high hell. Prove Thy Self is good, Self Care is not overrated, and Off the Record is incredibly strong with perks like Sprint Burst.
That's the reason why i always run self-care with botany knowledge. Off-the-record works really good if you have a teammate that's exceptionally well at running killers. Anyone who runs off the Record is basically a distraction so everyone else can slam gens
I only used off the record when it first got changed. I completely forgot it exists, I feel like only newer/bad players use it cuz they do need that extra help.
I was so mad when they removed the hatch spawn requirement according to how many survivors and gens were left. Now it will only spawn when there is one survivor left. They just practically made keys useless.
Self care paired with bite the bullet is good tho a med kit would obviously be quicker but that way u can use other items while still being able to heal and helps u hide/confuse the killer
I have never seen someone use off the record through all my years playing dead by daylight, I honestly forgot it ever existed until you told me and I looked it up
I agree with all of this but I do enjoy off the record for old iron will value. I don't use it like some people do and waste it taking an unnecessary hit or refusing to touch a gen. I usually bring a fast Medkit or renewal with it. Either I get to a safe spot and heal silently then my endurance is gone anyway so I do a gen immediately OR by the time it's gone renewal heals me anyway (as long as I've healed someone else. Stack renewal and OTR with deliverance for some great time saving imo. Unhook one team mate and heal them and both perks activate you unhook and heal by yourself and have some safety while you run to a gen. By the time u get there you're full health :)
I disagree with the off the record placement, I can see people misusing it for sure but it also has a lot of functionality. Most times I just find it to be a better decisive strike replacement for if I’m getting hard tunneled. It’s also really nice for if you need to help save the teammate who unhooked you with a flashlight save or body lock (although just be smart when you do it), or for having time to reach someone to heal you without having to worry about the killer catching you out of position. It’s also really nice with the built in iron will so you get like 60 seconds of no moaning which can save your life alone.
I use off the record so I can heal up in a corner far away from the killer. The fact that u don't whine helped me a few times. The endurance is just a nice bonus for when you are being tunneled
I used prove thyself to farm blodpoints. I do muxed selfcare with soem healing perks and emdlits if i want to experiment a medkit build. But usually, i just add spinechill in cuz im bad at tracking
Off the record is so clutch when your getting tunneled, or near the endgame when your getting focused on and so you run the killer to the other side of the map so your team can focus on gens, while you keep the killer busy, not great if your bad a looping tho
#1. Off the record is a very good perk if you get tunnelled by a killer that you juked or flashlighted during the whole game. #2. Self-Care is okay but takes you a minute. Since it takes longer than that, I mixed Stake Out and Hyperfocus with Self-Care and I'm absolutely fine. #3. Prove Thyself is a god perk for me because I run a Gen Build each and everyday for blood points.
Omg yes i did use off the record for a while until i realized that it's so hard to get a good value from it (mostly meh value) changed it to adrenaline afterwards
i bring self-care with bite the bullet sometimes, makes hiding when injured a lot easier. also nice for me to have in situations where i'm completely alone and have time to spare.
I prefer lucky break to off the record, not that I use either in my usual builds though. frankly I didn’t even know about all the conditions to off the record. I prefer lithe, plot twist, parental guidance and distortion. Or a totem build like some combination of overzealous, circle of healing, shadow step, dark theory and inner healing. Usually I’ll go with shadow step, circle of healing, dark theory and overzealous because I find you don’t need an exhaustion perk if you put the boon on a totem in a good jungle gym with good loops. the haste from dark theory and no scratch marks from shadow step can carry you around the same jungle gym forever if you’re good with the mind games and looping. And every time I encounter the killer no matter where I am I just head to the boon to loop, there’s usually enough vaults and pallets on the way to get you to it without needing an exhaustion perk. And eventually they give up and leave you alone when you’ve looped them enough, and eventually it gets to the point where they just kind of leave you alone when they see you and go for someone else because they know you’re just gonna take them back to the same loop over and over again and there’s not much they can do.
Bottany knowledge was a useful perk especially if you brought a med-kit. but now you don't get that healing item efficiency like you did before because its reduced.
Honestly, with solo queue being what it is, I use Inner healing to not lose 10 medkits per day. Sometimes I take a medkit to heal others quicker, but Inner healing is sooo much better than Self care
Prove yourself is one of the few things you can bring vs gen control killers. It can make progress on important gens faster, which avoid 3 gen situations. Sometimes it's better to do 1 crucial gen than 2 gens on the same edge of the map.
OTR is amazing if you don't take Discordance. 90 seconds of *No Grunts of Pain* and *aura hiding* is amazing since you keep them even if you lose the Endurance. It helps if you are hard tunneled (which is a lot more common now). But I do agree. A lot of people misuse this thinking it's a huge second chance perk like DS or DH.
i’ve had off the record work when all gens are done before, it only happened once then i went on my very long break from dbd cause i forgot it existed so idk if it was glitch or what
I’ve always hated having off the record for that exact reason, it just feels like a wasted perk slot when I could be running another chase perk that helps me in chase (like resilience or e)… idk I’ve never liked it that much
Prove thyself is really efficient done right. Obviously you don’t waste time doing a gen with someone at the top of the match with 4-5 gens to go, but after pressure is spread out and it’s mid-late game, those 10 seconds it saves can be game changing to remedy some gen regression and prevent 3 gen lockdowns
I agree on the point of of the record being annoying when people don't want to lose it, but it's super nice to have just in case. I use it as a safety perk. Don't always use the extra hit.
Those extra hits are key to an assertive defense, of course we are going to use that extra hit point!!! I’m in it for the Iron Will though :) When I play killer I rely on the sound of injured survivors, it takes away the line of sight problem
I used to advocate for self-care but since the last few nerfs there's no defending this perk, it takes WAY TOO LONG. It takes an entire build to make that perk half-decent.
@@dandantsm6560 exactly why u should bring perks like reactive and resurgence, those perks can come in clutch and can only be completed with that bit of self care touch
My brain:"is this man doesn't put dead hard or Sprintburst in the number one spot he's insane" l Also him: "makes otr the number one spot" My brain:"*casually has a seizure*"
Off the record is great but yeah losing endurance from just doing tasks sucks but paid with decisive strike and deliverance with sprint burst is amazing
Borrowed time is a waste 99% of the time. It’s helped me a total of 3 times in its entire existence. As a killer I pretty much NEVER fall for it, and will punish you for unhooking your friend.. just bring deliverance or a perk that’s always active, like empathy is one of the best perks in the entire game, hands down, in terms of information it’s one of the best perks. Because if I can see a hurt survivor, I essentially know the killers location at all times too.
I respect your top 3 choices, I’d say #1 goes to dead hard for me. If you use it once, killers are more than likely going to remember you have it and bait it out.
Adrenaline. It's a perk that only activates once in the entire match - right at the end so in many matches it does literally nothing and you are essentially playing most of the match with only 3 perks. Even if it does activate, you're not even guaranteed to get the full effect of it as you might not even be injured when the last gen pops. How it's one of the most used survivor perks will always baffle me.
They nerfed boon circle of healing to where you could only heal others and they could heal you. But before, you could heal yourself right away and heal yourself.
breakdown one of the underrated perks. even though once hooked, the hook appears again after 3 minutes which is very helpful if the killer uses a scourge hook🤗
Time spent healing with self care is still lower than running across the map to find totem, blessing it and healing afterwards. With inner healing it’s pretty much the same. Also the fact, that killer can destroy coh when you need it the most makes it even more useless. And also if you consider coh as a team perk, that takes only one perk slot for all survivors, it’s not true at all. If the only person that has coh is tunneled out of the game (which is 90% of games currently), you don’t have any healing perk for the rest of the game and still need to rely on your teammates. I don’t use SC, just grab medkit for endgame situations or when I’m DoH, but imo it’s still better to have opportunity to heal yourself in current camping meta, even if it’s slow
I also dont agree so much, but there are plenty of other good perks which people often overlook like the gen perk from ada wong. Its fantastic. Helps you in chase, helps people to find gens and warns you if a killer is coming to you.
I played 5 games all five i died and had seen my teamates with self care healing instead of doing gens or getting me of my 1st hook before i die 1 game i survived only thanks to kinship cuz all the people were running next to me to just do a random totem

@@muiibaf Ds can only be used once and will get you barely any distance against almost all killers
@@D-Doc-C buys more time than otr
@@muiibafhow come one can last for 80 sec the other last for 60. One stuns you 4 seconds which is not a lot of time the other give you a speed boost when hit and gives better iron will.
Off the record is 2 anti tunnel perks in one. 2 years ago, having endurance longer after getting unhooked would have and maybe SHOULD have been it's own perk.
I say this cause I ran OTR before the buff unironically.
BT: am I joke to you?
Me: only when the killer waits 10 seconds to down me again.
Do underrated next, for me its empathy. Infinite wallhacks to injured teammates and a lot of the times can give you constant info about the killer bc its really easy to tell if a surv is getting chased or not
Don't spill the tea bro 🤫
Now you can tell if someone is being chased by looking at there icon if they are being chased little claws/spikey teeth show up and twitch a little
Bond is superior to be fair...
@@TheLudwigWan I mean its fine but it just doesnt have near as much reach

Prove thyself often comes in clutch when there's only 1 or 2 gens remaining.
Also if all of you spawn at 4-man gen, you can get it cheeky fast even before the killer has chance to check it.
Prove thyself is good because it helps you get those end gens done quicker. Those extra seconds can be game changing, especially in this meta
The big thing about off the record for me is the old Iron Will effect for a minute, which you don't lose even after a conspicuous action.
Off the record is amazing end game. Off the record + Deliverance is an amazing combo.
you didnt even buy this game did you
@@이지환-e5m I think there trolling
No I'm being serious, unless it deactivates endgame and I never knew.
And I’ve started using the perk again and lo and behold my win rate as solo que survivor has gone back up to around 1/4 and climbing
a lot of players chose off the record to get this 80 sec endurance but it also make the killer dont see your aura and you arent moaning for 80 secs as well. and 2 last things work even if you touched a gen
i love just four stacking prove thyself and deja vu with a purple toolbox and brand new part and banging out two gens in 30 seconds😂
You should always spilt up on gens so prove thyself is only useful late game which it saves 6 seconds
Prove thyself makes it not more efficient to split up on generators. That’s kind of the point.
"Get someone else to heal you"
My teammates- "hurrr durrr skill checks R harrrd"
Even if you tap a gen in the first 5 seconds off the record is still pretty cracked for the no scratchmarks effect
Off the record does nothing about scratch marks.
I use self care with botany knowledge it's like the same speed as a boon and you don't have to be in the range of it. It's very good for solo queue
But you end up wasting two perk slots
Off the record has saved me so many times and i just started using it, not overrated, just used incorrectly
Self care with botany knowledge is perfect
I like prove thyself for the psychological placebo effect, I feel more inclined to coop with people while affected by the perk
Oh that’s really smart
Self care was clutch on the old freddy days, you can easily loop him the entire game hahaha
OTR blocks aura reading and grunts of pain? That’s the best reason to use it and you keep it even after doing a conspicuous action
Like the fact that you only get 4 choices of perk each match, and to this day, you still see people wasting self care on one of them, astounds me.
Idk, proce thyself has helped me a lot in those situations where the killer is harcore patrolling one key gen
I agree on the point of of the record being annoying when people don't want to lose it, but it's super nice to have just in case. I use it as a safety perk. Don't always use the extra hit.
Self care is good if for example the killer opens the door you are injured and your teammates left you can just self care in a corner then escape
(For self care you can also bring bounty knowledge to sped it up to 85%)
Those extra hits are key to an assertive defense, of course we are going to use that extra hit point!!!
I’m in it for the Iron Will though :)
When I play killer I rely on the sound of injured survivors, it takes away the line of sight problem
Anything speed perks as well! You use sprint burst to get away from the killer and next thing you know they're instantly right behind you again smh
Self care isnt meant to be run alone, it's really good with reactive healing+Botany knowledge
My brain:"is this man doesn't put dead hard or Sprintburst in the number one spot he's insane" l
Also him: "makes otr the number one spot"
My brain:"*casually has a seizure*"
Off the record is great but yeah losing endurance from just doing tasks sucks but paid with decisive strike and deliverance with sprint burst is amazing
I only run Self-Care if I'm running Bite the Bullet along with something like Parental Guidance.
The best part about Off the Record bodyblockers is that they start complain about tunnel.
Circle of healing doesn’t work when i bless it and stays inside no matter what i cant heal myself? Whats wrong
breakdown one of the underrated perks. even though once hooked, the hook appears again after 3 minutes which is very helpful if the killer uses a scourge hook🤗
its still shit
self care has saved me so many times. i also dont have any other perk in this video unlocked or bought.
Off the record is only good if somebody is being chased next to you when you get unhooked since killer will probably wait out bt time
I also dont agree so much, but there are plenty of other good perks which people often overlook like the gen perk from ada wong. Its fantastic. Helps you in chase, helps people to find gens and warns you if a killer is coming to you.
For only 40 seconds tho
I played 5 games all five i died and had seen my teamates with self care healing instead of doing gens or getting me of my 1st hook before i die 1 game i survived only thanks to kinship cuz all the people were running next to me to just do a random totem
Friendly competition is better then prove thyself. Pair it with Bond and you got yourself some serious fire power
nonono, the first one is Windows of opportunity (I think thats the name): its literally worthless, just a wasted perk slot
I use off the record only for flashbang saves bc of me being silent 😂
I can't agree with the last one since Off the Record also have side effects that are very helpful even if you already took a hit with endurance.
Bro I love Off The Record, but never do I worry about losing the endurance. Although I don’t use the perk anymore! But I always try to get my teammates to spread out on gennys but everyone wants to double or triple team it
Windows of opportunity, I stopped using this perk about a month ago because I realized it was a crutch, and I relied on it too much.
I've looped a killer for like 90 minutes thanks to off the record it makes you make no noise no bloood, it's really great
