A new “Game of Thrones” prequel about Aegon I Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros is being actively discussed at HBO, Variety has learned exclusively from sources.
As the project is in its very early stages, no writer is currently attached, though sources say that the search is underway as HBO is keen to move forward and get it into development. Sources also say that there may be a feature component to the project, i.e. HBO and Warner Bros. would produce a feature film that would then lead into the potential series, though plans remain in flux at present.

House of The Dragon writers changed soooo much of the original story: Dance with Dragons, I do like the prophecy thrown in there though bout the great war, since King Viserys told his heir, as is the custom, Rhaenrya was the only one that knew and she died with the knowledge of what’s to come.
in my opinion unless grr martin makes arya kill the knight king in the books she's not the promised prince, especially since the reason she did it in the tv series was because the writters didn't want the one that was being build up to do it john snow aka aegon targerian.
Damn sure wasn't Dany. I thought it was for a LONG time, but she proved to be crazy. She was no savior. She said she wanted to "break the wheel," but in the end, she decided to BECOME the wheel.

She did break the wheel, she just didn’t prepare for its aftermath…I would’ve snapped after losing sooo many allies while on the path to seize the throne..Don’t forget the last one Cersei had murdered was Missendai!
Read the books, the show changed sooo much from what was written.

The Stark children too and they didn't slaughtered innocents, only those who wronged them or killed their parents or siblings. Daenerys has her father's insanity
Like an earthquake, seasons eights "Long Night" might not have been the that of the prophecy, maybe it was no more than the precursor to a far more dangerous wave of catastrophe, where we might see Ice Dragons, Ice Spiders, and other types of undead in an army that will have a true Night King, revealing the first one was no more than an important underling
Uniting the realm for the war says nothing about the one doing it actually being the killer of the Whitewalker King who takes both the dead and living into his realm of zombies undead. Targs in the show did unite the peoples and Arya FirstMan descendant and follower of the god of Death brought an end to the NightKing
Maybe lightbringer isn't just a sword, but a person. Maybe Aria with the catspaw is light bringer.
everything was correct. she is a princess of a stark. The kings of the north. most people want hero to be from their family so think it’s the main family of themselves.
The Show Universe and the Books Universe are separate songs with the same beat. Think about the songs "I Want a New Drug" and the main title for "GhostBusters" and you'll understand my meaning.

Hi guys i think Arya is the Azor Ahai coz king Viseries said when the darkness comes there must be a Targarian sitting on the iron throne to help in uniting pple to fight the one enermy from the North... that's what the Targarians did (John & Danny) nd then comes the Azor Ahai to finish the job even b4 it wasn't a Targarian to kill the night king so the Targarians are just leaders whose job is to unite pple of the Kingdom
The prophecy states "The dragon must have 3 heads".....Clearly Dany is one and Jon ( Aegon VI ) is the second. Which brings us to the question of who is the third head ?
Another central character or should I say THE main protagonist who had dragon dreams as a child, had an affinity with Dany's dragons and an undeniable charm and wit often associated with Targeryens........Yes it's Tyrion....who will ultimately be revealed as the Mad King's child and the third head of the dragon.
This is not a crackpot theory of my own, it is heavily supported throughout the book series via GRRM's love of foreshadowing in the book series and believed by many content creators deep into ASOIAF.
Tyrion will be the prince that was promised....bet you didn't see that coming.
Jon and Dany will not have a child or children.....hoping so won't make it happen.

Just because he didn’t kill the NK doesn’t mean Jon isn’t the Prince that was Promised. GRRM is all about subverting tropes and expectations. He hates the chosen one trope anyway so turning that on its head is something that he would do.

Jon Snow is the Prince that was Promised. D&D fucked up the story and did their own thing. I think House of the Dragon confirmed it to me. Jon was supposed to kill the Night King using that dagger but because D&D didn’t want the obvious & they did things their way.
What is written on the dagger is a key clue - “His is the song of Ice and Fire”. House Stark is ice. House Targaryen is fire. Jon is the product of the union of the 2 via his parents. He’s the song of ice and fire, and the Prince that was Promised.
My theory is that the whole story is about the Song of Ice and Fire which I think is represented in different ways. One as a conflict which is fuelled by Dany as is the extreme of fire and the Night King as the extreme ice. Both needed to be destroyed to restore balance and peace. Really both dragons should’ve died too. The other side of the song of Ice and Fire is unity represented by Jon Snow as the literal union of ice and fire through his parents. It was Jon’s role to destroy the two extremes to bring peace and balance to Westeros. Having fulfilled his purpose he rides north and leaves Westeros. If there is be a sequel then it suggests he hasn’t fulfilled his purpose so what is left for him to destroy? Bran? I can’t imagine a 3-eye raven who is a literal god-king is good for long term peace. It’s a possible storyline.

Jon was the prince that was promised as he united the armies to fight the white walkers. Doesn’t mean he had to do the final deed.
I think you're on to something canner. This gets Araya back into the story if for no other reason than to bring the dagger to John. Heck maybe John goes looking for her on his dragon he finds in the crypts. Seriously a lot of really good possibility and house of dragon could serve to tee all this up.
If Daenerys comes back I’ll continue watching if she doesn’t this is where I’ll stay. Her death was a sour taste I was not impressed
Ok this is my theory, maybe we aren’t to look at Jon or Daenerys. Dragon took her away so we aren’t exactly sure if she is truly dead. What if she is pregnant. She went through the fire, emerging with new life (dragons). Jon literally died and was reborn to new life. They had sex what if she is pregnant and her child is the one born of fire and ice. He is fully Targaryen. I like this plot twist❤

By the shows telling, Giants are now extinct, the last killed attacking the wall. Also, how do you conclude Dark children control Bran?

it has nothing to do with what everyone believes but what the creator of the universe George R R Martin has said, he himself confirmed that the prince he promised was never either Daenerys or Arya, Let it be favored that it could be Stannis or Jon, not only because they both have Valyrian blood, as we know the phrase says "From my blood, comes the prince that was promise" this was written on the dagger that Viserys Targaryen had before Aegon and Maegor. But the question is, was the Night King really the darkness that the prophecy said? probably not, it is not enough to kill the king of the night or to take the throne to be the prince that was promised, I have not believed that the king of the night was this darkness.The actions of the characters of the series and especially of Daenerys in the last season were unacceptable and she had more power than the Night King had, so does the prophecy speak of the Targaryens' Insanity?? hmmm....

Euron Greyjoy is the darkness. He’s pure evil in the books, he wants the Night king and the war to happen, he wants the world to fall into darkness.

The Arya theory is the dumbest one I've ever heard. The show fumbled and dropped the ball. D&D had no idea what they were doing. They left out so many important things like Victarian Greyjoy, Faegon(Young Grift), Quathe's importance, changing Euron completely, Changing Sansa's story arc, leaving out Lady Stoneheart, leaving out the conspiracies of the Northern Kingdoms and what not that's going on in Winterfell under the Bolton's control, the whole Quintton arc, and so much more. They've become completely different stories.

The series ended awfully….and Ruined the storyline. Being Born of First Men Blood and Valyrian blood were the requirements to finish the nigh king. The entire original story was for Jon to kill him. TV shows stay ruining perfect book storylines.

Besides, D&D had no idea what they were doing. They didn't include important story beats within the books and just made stuff up. Completely changing things from the books, like Euron Greyjoy, or not including Victarian Greyjoy. They also didn't know what to do with Qauthe or show important characters at the Citadel. They just fumbled the show completely.
