I watched those playoffs. The best squad for Rondo. Chemistry between Pierce, Allen, KG, Rondo was incredible. Rondo played with dislocated elbow and made back to back triple double. For me it was best team and starting five 2008,9,10.
I agree that he is underrated. So many people bring up dirk when talking about greatest PFs of all time along with Duncan, Malone, and Barkley. And I’m not denying he deserves to be up there, but so many people fail to bring up Garnet who is if not slightly more impressive, right up there with dirk and the rest of them.
Very objective approach! KG was a beast at his prime. It's true, I was left with the feeling that the Celtics assembled a team that should've won at least two titles or even three-peated, as you said in the video.
Yo love ur videos I think Dominuqe Wilkins was a very underrated player and suffered greatly by being in the terrible Atlanta Hawks organization. I would like to see u make a video about him.

Duncan is a born winner from the very start. Its not his fault he was paired right away with robinson. And happened to have landed on one of the greatest franchise.
If I'm not mistaken the 2nd year Garnett Celtics started their championship defence 25 and 2 putting them on track to be the best season in NBA history
Prime TD > Prime Garnett. I remember Duncan's stat lines in the 99 Finals were absurd - like video game absurd - and he did it even when the Admiral was there. For me, the most criminally underrated player is Rodman. He's a part of the HOF, but many people don't seem to realize how important and elite he is on D. Here's an example of his impact: in the 95 playoffs against the Rockets, the Spurs fared better putting Rodman on Olajuwon versus having Robinson match up against Dream - so much so that it led to those 2 wins. But when the Spurs realized this, it was already too late. When Rodman was in the 96 Bulls, he guarded Shaq SINGLE COVERAGE, allowing the Chicago perimeter players to cut off the passing lanes inside, effectively destroying the Orlando offense. Rodman is arguably the best defender of the modern era - better than Kawhi or any other elite defender today. He can guard all 5 positions, and he can do it in grit-and-grind or small ball.
Garnett kind of reminds me of Jordan in the sense of his 2-way dominance, natural ability, and the way he can carry a team. If he did 3-peat, the similarities would be even more striking. Except obviously he was a pf
Without watching the video I can tell you KG is one of the best power forwards/players in NBA history don’t @ me this is not debatable. He could do it all.
As great as KG is I just don't believe he would've had the same success as Duncan. And I'm shocked as to why Duncan doesn't have a DPOY award. It's truly the only thing KG has on Duncan. I just don't believe KG's abilities would've been consistent enough throughout if they were to switch places. Year 15 TD could basically do all of what Year 5 TD could do. While KG's high energy would wear and would need to change to be as efficient later on. Definitely one of the most talented. Great video!

I agree. Watching those two guys through their prime, KG was the better player, Tim had a better career. It was always clear KG could do alot more athletically. He was long, faster, more explosive, could defend the perimeter way better, a better shot contester, better dribbler... Sort of the same way I feel about Hakeem. He always outplayed his opponents like Kareem, Ewing, the Admiral, Shaq, Barkley... but all his competitors always had way better teams and the big African could only do so much. And its not the same as when lebron leaves a team cus LeBron makes the whole offense run through him and they never become a team so he could stat pad get credit and blame everyone when it doesn't work out. Then when he leaves they fall apart because the lebron system never lets his team become an actual team. KG was just the best player in their team and they played like a team.
That's nothing special. Look how far he goes when he has help. Got mvp, got to the finals, and as soon as he joined a big 3, championship. Imagine him having help in his prime. Just as many rings as Duncan.

He's one of those Grant Hill types that was headed for greatness but injuries wrecked his career trajectory, but he reinvented himself as an integral part of 5 championship teams and was a major reason Jordan's 2nd three-peat Bulls were as insane defensively as they were (they could switch everything 1-4).

@@halowarrior917 Magic, Oscar Robertson, Curry, Jerry West and Chris Paul are all rated above him
@@halowarrior917 I'd personally put Magic, Curry and Big O ahead of him
@@Be_Honest_Not_Afraid and that's laughable. Stockton almost never missed a game in his 19 year career. All time steals and assists leader. 5th all time in total games played. Stockton's records will NEVER be broken by anyone. He's the Kareem of Point Guards
I agree 1000% he proved that when he carried the Timberwolves against shaq and Kobe and put up a hell of a fight by himself
That was his MVP season, and Cassell went down just b4 the series, but he didn't really step up. He just did solid, not spectacular, against the Lakers. 23.5-13.5-4.5-1.2-1.2. His numbers fell compared to his regular season averages.
@@torpedospurs Of course his numbers went down, all The Lakers defense had to worry about was stopping him!
@@torpedospurs I think he's talking about the year prior when he and the Lakers went at it in the first round in 2003. 2004 he got help but the Lakers got a super team with Gary Peyton and Karl Malone, two 10yr all stars coming off their franchise teams with 20points in their previous year.
He stayed In Minnesota way too long, something LJ learned from.
KJ Carson true. You would still be seeing a lot more of this is LJ never went to Miami.
KJ Carson linden Johnson?
back than it was about being competitive not switching up because things dont go your way like the league we have today
@@nicelymade Most people see the team up in Celtics in 2008 is acceptable when they were both 30s so can't last long and desperately sought the first champion ... In Miami Lebron brought this to the next level when Wade had a ring already and both three of them is in prime ...
@@shadowballgaming351 why show loyalty to a system that will throw you away or trade you if you underperform. Players started acting like teams and mfs get offended
As a Boston fan I ain’t never gonna forget KG’s efforts to get us the ring in ‘08. If only he didn’t stay in Minnesota for so long and got to Boston earlier there would have definitely been more rings.
@@eobardthawne5653lets be real, kg is my favorite player ever but that squad wasnt beating the pistons with the lack of help he had to go against a gritty defensive team like that. He had sprewell, wally and cassell but they were severely outclassed
The most intense player ever. One of the best trash talkers ever. One of only a few players to win both a MVP and a defense player of the year award.
Mind you a championship as well the year he won the defensive player of the year award-goat shi
@Greg A atleast of the 2000s sure
bojo perez can’t disagree. I won’t say Garnett didn’t deserve it or that it was weak but Camby did have a better defensive season. More defensive boards and way more blocks with steals and DWS being almost identical. Maybe it had to do with Boston winning 16 more games than Denver did. I don’t know. You couldn’t go wrong with either one but I would have taken Camby.
he made fun of duncan's dead mom bruh.
Yes, intensity is great, but there is a line, and KG crossed that many times. Not great.
For me, Moses Malone is the most over looked bad ass in nba history. Though a legend in his time, I feel Moses is largely forgotten. At only 6'10, and a pro straight out of high school, Moses was like no other. An episode on my favorite player would be awesome. Thanks for the consistently awesome content. You rock. Peace
When MJ retired from the bulls, I feel lost.. then I saw KG, Damn! it brought me back. My next to MJ, KG big fan here.. :)
His leaping ability was crazy!! No one could stop that fade away
That was me exactly.
Timmy, kg, and dirk.
21 is a legendary jersey number.
Dirk used 41, if memory serves.
Miko correct
Uhm Dirk was 41 but yeah they are all legends
In the late nineties and early 2000's, KG was the best all around player in the NBA
O neal, Bryant, nowitski, duncan and 10 other players was way better than him, and win tittles...
@@johannsimonot u misunderstood me. I said best all-around player. Of course shaq was better. I'm talking about all-around. Smh
true. But Jason Kidd and Tracy McCrady are debatable. I'll take KG doe.
Grant Hill, Pippen
@@johannsimonot Dirk is not better then KG LOL
One of the most intense players ever! I loved his game.
anything is possible ...
He can do everything. And he actually did everything. I'm so lucky I saw his astonishing performance, so that I know what a man can really do on a court.
Kg is most definitely mine as a kid growing up my favorite player because of his heart, versatility and impact on the game🙌🏾💯
If KG had been in the East during those prime years, he would’ve had so much more success in the playoffs
kg for sure makes a final...he was good enough to lead a team to the finals alone
I always believed this guy was better than Duncan but people try to kill me everytime I say it thanks for showing this legend some love Jonny.
@Rusty Shackleford Absolutely right
He arguably was better but never had the supporting cast to get the chips in Minnesota. He controlled the game every night.
Just look how the Timberwolves are after he left the team and you are going to understand how good he was
And its not the same as when lebron leaves a team cus LeBron makes the whole offense run through him and they never become a team so he could stat pad get credit and blame everyone when it doesn't work out. Then when he leaves they fall apart because the lebron system never lets his team become an actual team. KG was just the best player in their team and they played like a team.
Willy doe You are 100% right
abziani Garnett missed the playoffs his last 3 years with Minnesota
Willy doe Cry? 😢
That's nothing special. Look how far he goes when he has help. Got mvp, got to the finals, and as soon as he joined a big 3, championship. Imagine him having help in his prime. Just as many rings as Duncan.
I completely agree with everything. Always loved KG.
i like you're style my-boy
40 yrs old, started paying attention to basketball late majic/divac days. Saw Jordan win all 6 been loving basketball ever since. from LA. love my Lakers. dig you're analysis on b-ball
KG ought to leave MN 2-3 years earlier. Loyalty hurts sometimes.
Looks like Durant made the right move
yeah but he got paid real well too though.
redman0901 and his legacy goodbye
xastric legacies can go so far when the team around you is not ready made for a championship
Thank you for this video. KG was mean, really mean. Second greatest PF of all time, can make a valid argument for greatest PF of all time to.
Factz Bro!!! KG is the Randy Moss of the NBA.. Waited too long to play for a real Team💯💪.
KG is my 3rd favorite Player of all time 💯
Yep and more skilled than Bill Russell, Evolution
that's actually a pretty decent comparison. I also think that Randy Moss deserves more recognition. How come nobody talks about Ken Griffey Jr ????
And of course coincidentally, they both played for Minnesota teams
The '98 Vikings were more dominant offensively than the '07 Patriots taking era into account. They also would've easily gone to the super bowl if John Randle didn't get injured right before the NFC Championship.
This video made perfect sense. KG is my favorite PF of all time
kg and barkley are my favorite pf than kemp ,rodman and malone ,duncan was always boring to me:)
Kg has a better footwork and better mentality than duncan
@@mt2_974 that’s a lie.
@@andymontetaco6730 kg was more agile tho h gotta give him that
How good was Ron Harper?! He's one of those Grant Hill types that was headed for greatness but injuries wrecked his career trajectory, but he reinvented himself as an integral part of 5 championship teams and was a major reason Jordan's 2nd three-peat Bulls were as insane defensively as they were (they could switch everything 1-4).
i feel like Harper should have made at least 1 all defensive team. same with Bryon Russell. there should be 3 all defensive teams i guess, but really so many times they leave off more deserving players than the ones who make it
The best stutter in the game an could ball on you, naw but seriously on the bulls team he put in work solute to Flavor 💯
What I love about KG is he knew it was a Dog eat Dog league, an he brought his intensity he loved his team an wasn't trying to make friends, you either match the level an completed or if you were mentally weak you folded,an a nice high light seeing the love an respect he had for Kobe is priceless
kg like lebron got screwed by his organization...they lost marbury billups and sprewell and traded ray allen on draft night..the way the cavs lost boozer...any of guys stay the t wolves and cavs have an extra title
KG played for a crappy franchise in Minnesota during his best years. His fortunes obviously changed when he was traded to Boston to form the Big 3 with Pierce & Allen.
Uh... yeah, that's exactly what the video talked about.
Thank Tyrone Lue and Chauncey Billups for making him get over his "be loyal" pride and doing it. Now people wanna bash him and say that he wasn't loyal for staying in Minnesota because of his comments on forcing Lebron out of Cleveland.
@@younglove3362 Of course, he should have known that he would get called out on hypocrisy since he encountered roadblocks of his own.
My favorite post Jordan era player

To your final question, Stockton. He wasn´t spectacular, but his numbers are surreal
This. Even Gary Paton feared him, moreso than playing MJ.
People sleep on Stockton heavy, he leads in assist by 4K and steals by almost 1k
Stockton wasn't flashy, but was efficient as hell.
Played 19 seasons and only missed 22 games. Iron man, literally.
Preach, Stockton is so over looked. Arguably the best PG ever

Dirk doesnt belong in the category of Kg And TD. When he was missing on an entire side of the ball
Mr. Suhaib agreed, and remember dirk lost to an 8th seed smh

@@skywalker2676 man that was the most exciting playoff series I watched until the Philly vs Toronto of last year. Shit was epic
@Rusty Shackleford I'm not gonna say that having the greatest NBA coach of all time diminishes TD accomplishments but when people bring up TD's rings over KG as a measuring tool, then i have to point them to the organizations they were on
