I was a company commander at Ft Benning in 2016 under Obama as Commander in Chief. Every in the video reminds me of the changes the Army was going through during that period. It seemed like perilous madness.

He said bayonet training was discontinued in the Army but I went through basic in 1980 and we did bayonet training all the time. And I wasn't even a 11B, I was a 19D.

For a time bayonet training was elimanated in the army. It was reestablished mid 80s.

From hearing this I think I read this before from a book called About Face by Col. David Hackworth (Ret). He enlisted right after WWII in the Army at the age of 15 who lied about his age. He was in post war Italy in the 88th Infantry Division. He is correct in his memoirs as growing up as a young soldier, making NCO, combat in Korea and dealing with again post war bullshit. He was a battalion commander in the 101st Airborne and did retire because he was disillusioned with the US Army and became a vocal critic as a columnist writing articles seeing the double standards of the military playing political games until his death.
