For someone whose husband does ALL of the car stuff and was just dumped 😂 I am so happy I found this video ! I also got a free oil change and air filter when I went myself to a local car place. Today is my lucky day 🙏🏻😌🥰
Thank God for UA-cam (and this video specifically)! I just got the "15% oil life" warning on my '15 Accord and thought, "What the hell?" since I just got an oil change 4 weeks ago. Thought I had a leak or something faulty with the gauge or something, turns out I just had to do this thing on the instrument panel to reflect the 100% after the oil change. Should the auto shop guys have done this for me, did they just forget, or do they just assume the owner should know to do this after the oil change?
Every shop is a bit different. If you got the oil change done at the dealer they will usually reset it always. If the light is on when you take it in, most independent/jiffy lube places will turn it off for you. Many times if the light is NOT on and you got an oil change, they will not reset it. The light is just a computer in the background that turns on at every ~5000K miles.
Thx man, changed my oil myself this time and this popped up on my dash a couple days later. Was really confused considering I had replaced the filter aswell. But all is well now thanks to you♥️
Thanks for the videos. My reset knob was broken off by car washer person and Honda does not sell new one or help. They say entire console must be replaced. What do you recommend? The stub is still deep in the hole and I can push it with a pencil eraser end, but I would like a fix. Thanks.
Thanks for this. However, for my 2014 Accord model, I had to go to the Settings button > Vehicle Settings > Maintenance Info > Maintenance Reset > Oil Life reset, to be able to reset it from there instead. As the tips from holding down the clicker didn't do it for mine. Just a note for ones who are having this model.
I have a B123 code on my 2015 Accord sport. I'm gonna get the oil changed tomorrow. Can I just reset the oil change code and the other codes will still remain?
I e watched this so many times & I still have to come back every time 😂😂 my oil life is already blinking bc it’s so far over so I don’t know what to do & need to reset it but it’s not working
How do I change it back to mileage those every since my oil life dropped I got an oil change and it’s at 100% but how do I take that off so I can now view my mileage again?
An algorithm is used that takes into account the number of times the engine is started, the length of each trip, the temperature of the engine coolant each time it is driven, the amount of stop & go driving, the amount of idling, the amount high-speed driving, and--of course--odometer mileage and elapsed time. When you change your oil, you should have 0 trip miles on A and B of the odometer, and that's when you should reset it to 100%, right after your oil change.
Every time I change my oil I look at this video on how to reset. I should know this by now lol Oh well, great help!
Lol. Even though I posted this video I do the same.
Blu-TSX omg that makes me feel better about looking every time 😂😂
Blu-TSX has come up to me with this app for me haha was my

My was 15%, do I have to go oil change right away? Can I still driving for another 40 miles?
Katie Khou you can still drive on it but youre running low on oil so id change it asap
I heard even though they tell you 10%, you should get it changed at 20%, better on the engine.

The car can be running when you reset the oil life. It doesn’t have to be off.

Thanks for posting
So even if the oil wasn't at literally at 100 you could reset the light to 100?
yeah
An algorithm is used that takes into account the number of times the
engine is started, the length of each trip, the temperature of the
engine coolant each time it is driven, the amount of stop & go
driving, the amount of idling, the amount high-speed driving, and--of

Bravo!!! Thank you.
