Concrete isn't actually that strong, it's actually the rebar that gives it it's resilience, which ricky could totally break

This is even funnier realizing that as a warlock, Sofia only had two spell slots. So she used them both for this.
She was using qi points as a shadow monk

@@Fibonacci11235 There's a feat for that. But ritual casting takes ten minutes so obviously she doesn't have it.
It was a shadow monk thing. Since she’s applying sobriety, she isn’t Drunken Fist anymore
She didn't actually cast Dispel to remove it, she just dropped concentration.

Somehow I never noticed that, Sofia’s season two art does depict her with one green eye and one blue eye, like La Grand Gata. I forget if it was stated in season 1 that she got those or not.
Just watched season 1 recently and yes! She gets them when she first meets La Grand Gata!

See, I thought that's what they had done at first when I was watching the original. But I backed it up and watched that part again, and I think they're just miming. You can still (really faintly) hear them breathing in between silent screams. Just. SO funny.
This scene was an amazing example of some of the unique advantages of playing together over video call rather than in person. The way that Zac and Emily just muted their mics but we could still see their faces made it so much better than if they were just trying to act while making no sound in person.
No, they just mimed. You can still hear noises. They'd be ruining their voices and getting the cops called on them if they actually screamed like that. Please THINK.

Especially since tLoVM is making money, I bet there are streaming services shopping around to actual-play livestreamers looking to fund something that's already written and comes with a built-in audience.
@@ralek592 d20 campaigns are a lot more compact though. the amount of plot covered in a campaign might be more akin to a season of television rather than a 3-5 season show (with the exception of a crown of candy, which covers so much it would work), but a d20 anthology animated series would be great!

One of my favorite scenes but kinda loses the punch without the set up scene of Ricky watching it fly into the hands of cody the dork
As an out of context animation, it works for what it got.
Having no context for this as I haven't seen TUC2, I thought it was pretty great still.

This is the first animation of D20 where I went to go watch the actual scene after watching this because GOD it is so good. 🤣
I knew it! I was watching and thought to myself, “wow, the way these characters are animating, the camera angles, it reminds me of DeepBlueInk! This artist must be a fan and emulating their style.”
So pleased I was (sort of) right.
I don’t know the context to the scene that happened before this animation, but I’m gonna go ahead and guess that some destiny sword went to that other guy instead of the person that everyone thought was the “chosen” or something.
More or less! The kicker is that in a previous iteration, it literally *had* been with the buff screaming guy. Also, the kid is a Hot Topic mall goth.

You do some great work! I would love, Love, LOVE it if it were possible to animate some of the epic actions that were taken during battle, but I understand how much effort goes into the work you do. Please keep doing what you do!

You know it’s just occurred to me. If they were to make a series based around some of D20’s worlds. Just by the sheer fact that a majority of them, especially the train fight in Season 2 Ep 4 they should definitely have Studio Trigger in charge.
The off the walls bullshitery those guys visualise fits amazingly with the craziness of some of D20’s campaigns. But they still focus on the heartfelt moments and sacrifices of the characters.
May not have anything to do with this animated short. (Which is really good btw I don’t want to diminish this animation by talking about having another studio working on a hypothetical Critical Role style animated series) but I just felt like sharing this with you all. D20 included.

The Thirsting Blade is like a jealous ex lover, it gets pissed at you for leaving without saying goodbye. Maybe this showed Ricky that giving away a possessive sentient sword that CHOSE HIM AS IT'S WIELDER was NOT A GOOD IDEA!!
When coming up with the design for the sword, were you inspired by Umbra from Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion?

You should crowd fund a rpg animated tv show. I know animation cost a lot but I think you will find lots of people want more shows like vox machina. I would gladly donate to a new up coming show with you directing it.
