Republic has the best angle on its belt out of the tier 10's, and when its angled further by the player its amazing. That being said he could have just shot the frontal bulkhead at that angle.
angle had nothing to do with it. yamato was getting full on point blank broadsides near the end, and nearly half were bouncing or shattering. I too was in "wtf?" mode.
Republique appeared broadside on screen but if you actually look at the minimap - it’s well angled past 45 degrees. Republique has 400mm armour - there is nothing special going there.
what was with that shimi in the beginning? didn't move forward at all, but kept asking for support over and over and over. ...and that enemy Montana player was sooo lucky he wasn't KO'd much earlier in the game. was sailing in straight lines broadside to the Yamato pretty much the entire game. really, this was just a slightly above average game for a Yamato, it's just that everyone around him were mostly potatoes.
My Fing Yamato doesn't have dispersion good enough to be GERMAN many games. Can't COUNT the number of times I fire at a ship trying to charge me....8km...7km...6KM!!! Shots all SPLIT perfectly to each side. I could share 20 Fing replays of that for every ONE that's even close to this.

2.1 Yamato sigma + legendary upgrade you get almost cruiser dispersion.
Cause yamato is the best battleship.
