My most heartfelt condolences. Been there too many times myself, but have never built a coffin for my beloved pet. What a fitting send off. I will do this for any of my pets in the future. Godspeed Rusty. You were truly loved.
I have always enjoyed your videos. Especially the way that you put humor in them. I had no idea until i watched you assemble the dog bone cross. I am very sorry for your loss. All the best to you and your family. Much respect for you sir. Take care.
So sorry about Rusty, people that don`t have dogs don`t understand that they are not just a pet, they are a member of your family. My condolences to you and your family.
When our (my Mom and I) had our Chihuahua named Betsey Ross age 16 had to be put down do to failing health we were devastated. Mom said she'd never have another dog. I didn't say much and thought it best to let time pass. No mention of another dog was mentioned for a couple years. Then I began to hear very vague and subtle clues. Mom took to making at times very oblique references to dogs. Eventually mentions of dogs she had seen while out and about. I encouraged or discouraged her preferring to take a wait and see position. Then she started reading out loud to me the dogs for sale in the local shopper paper. Her recitation of the ads grew more wistful. It was really very heartwarming as she grew more able to contemplate the idea of replacing Betsey Ross. Finally one day she found an ad for someone with Chihuahuas for sale and she was really excited. I asked her "oh are you thinking about getting another dog" she gave me a look that spoke volumes. So I said would you like to go look at them (by now Mon wasn't driving anymore) she said "Yes" so I called the lady and she had 2 left a black one and a tan one. Mom instantly said she wanted a black one since Betsey Ross had been black. We got in the truck and drove to the location. Mom waited in the truck and I went to the door the lady brought the two 8 week pl puppies to the door and handed them to me. I told the lady "if I turn around with these puppies they are both going home with us". So I did and they did both go home with us. That was 10 years ago. The girls Cricket the black one and Brawny the tan one are still with me and going strong. They are a constant source of loving fun and companion ship. Occasionally I wonder if someday I'll lose them the might out last me. Sorry for such a lengthy post. I just got a message from my best friend who is 3,000 miles away and has been taking care of his dad for over 10 years. He has him in home hospice care it won't be long. So I'm going to see if I can avoid having a long unmanly cry.
I was told buy my wife that we are doppelganger ,so I don't know whether that's good or not and to top it all I,ve been a cabinet maker all my working life in England and now in Canada ,Bryan
