Hi. I love your videos. I bought your butter dish template and made it yesterday. It turned out great. I’ll send a pic once it’s glazed and fired. My question is with the top… once it’s glazed do you just wipe the bottom edge off with water or do you put wax along the edge? I just don’t want it sticking to the kiln.
Different bits of wood! In the thumbnail you see an MDF one, but I use plywood or all sorts of things. Usually scraps I find for free. The work surface I use is called a wedging board, you can find a tutorial for that on my other channel here: ua-cam.com/video/J6oh3QEu6KY/v-deo.html
I'm wondering what I don't know. It looks like you are placing glazed pieces directly onto the kiln shelf without either stilting or wiping the glaze off the edges and bottom. What am I missing?
Can I just come hang out with you in your studio? It looks so chill and fun
you can virtually on my other channel @potterytothepeople 😌 Lots more casual over there
Another great video, your teaching style is calm, concise and leave no doubt or error, your templates are the same. thanks for sharing x
Thank you so much! ❤️
Would you please do a template for a Japenese garden lantern?
You (and your mom) really went above and beyond to demonstrate U.S. butter!
Thanks for appreciating our efforts! ❤️🥰
I really enjoy your videos, keep them coming
Thank you so much for sharing. I love your style of instruction, simple, straightforward.

Hi. Awesome video. I was wondering what the trick is to open your templates. It takes me to squarespace and says it private.
Worth the wait! Thank you Mia!
yay!
Excellent template!
Thank you!
That’s exactly what I need 😍
Goid morning Mia😊 what size are your roller guides for the butter dish?
(US size please 😅)
The templates I bought from Mia were clear on the instructions. When we download this one, I'm sure it will be there too.
they are half centimeter which is about 1/4 inch
Yay! Two different sizes. I hope my comment and that HAI video helped.
could you give size .? any guide for new folk as it is no one will make any of these things
Do you mean the final butter dish size? You can find that info here: www.potterytothepeople.com/shop/p/butter-dish
Thank you for this! What is your wareboard made out of?

how do you find the template's
Great video and template- thank you! I’m curious how you treat the bottom of your pottery. Do you use wax resist or just wipe the down?
I just wipe with a wet sponge :)

Nope, the bottoms are wiped!
Do you use a wooden rolling pin to spread the clay? I have a wooden one but it sticks on it
Yes it is wood! Untreated wood works best. If it's oiled or otherwise non-porous, it will stick.
🐨👍
