- The Hawkeyes scored 60+ points for the third time of the 1997 season. The win was highlighted by an electrifying 92-yard punt return for a TD by Tim Dwight. Dwight also caught a 29-yard touchdown from Randy Reiners, who was making his first start at QB, and threw a 64-yard touchdown pass to Damon Gibson. The defense did plenty as well. In addition to pitching a shutout, Matt Bowen and J.P. Lange each added long interception returns for touchdowns.
I remember this Iowa team. Was surprised how easily Ohio State beat them.Best win Buckeyes had that year
Love these Videos! Thx so much for giving us the option to see these again!
Tim Dwight just had a gear that is mere mortals lack. He could blow by people, and make it look effortless doing it.
I miss Hayden’s offenses, his famous bag of trick plays, and natural grass at Kinnick. Love all of other changes at Kinnick, but they should’ve kept the natural grass. (or prescription athletic turf as they used to call it)
Dwight was so good. He was to Iowa, what Christian McCaffrey was to Stanford.
Damon "Gip" Gibson! Forest Brook legend
Glad to see Katti on UA-cam!
