I love it when a plan comes together
I read that as "I love it when a paint job comes together."
I love it when a van comes together.
I love it when a van comes together.
I'm grew up in the 80's also and the A-Team was definitely my favorite show growing up followed by Knight Rider. I had the B.A Bracus action fiqure and the A-Team train set by Tyco as a kid. Thank you for this video. You really made me very nostalgic.
Why so many haters, the van is nice. Like you said, you would never build an A-Team for an investment, it's for the love of the show, so build it to your budget, parts availability and personal style/design.
You could paint an 80s Ford Escort with the Black/Grey and red stripe and people would know what you're going for. The van is iconic.
Absolutely! Some people have "simulated" this van with newer generation vans. It's mostly the wheels and the paint job that do the trick anyway ;-)
Yep too many bar stool body critics 4 my liking. It looks neat and it's a nostalgia piece is all it really is. I got hired for a one time driver fill in position in a late model race whereas the 70's camaro and Chevelle bodies are still legal in our Late Model and our Sportsman Late Model series you can run both provided you have the safety equipment for the Sportsman class... I did not fit in my buddies car I was too big and the set up too small so I improvised I sprayed my old Sportsman late model with a satin black primer and put a white Dale E. #3 on the door and the red and silver stripe all the way down the body line and went out on the track. My dad told me if I ever returned to the car to it's former self I would get disowned he likes it now. The fans loved the nostalgia I stirered up during that race... I ended up wining after 3 close calls and I caught the part of a big wreck had to cut the hood clean off my car and the fans ran away with it during the white flag a couple guys and girls ran out of the pits with the hood from the car and out into the parking lot. It's funny what nostalgia does to people... The hood had been setting against the pit fence right where ya come in the pit gate my guys never went for it they were too busy watching me kick ass... Some guy from Reading Pa. threw his hood in the back of truck as we were leaving people were still screaming and yelling an hour after that race ended because I fought hard Dale style to win the shit..
There was a time that I wanted to build an A Team van...
Then I watched this video.
Now I have to. ;)
This is one of those incredible videos that you discover at the very end of the internet.
For those commenting they don't like Bob saying we couldn't locate this, or couldn't get that, please listen to the video. Bob will do anything and everything if the customer deems it financially viable. All custom makers work to the customers budget and specifications. Personally, I think Bob made all the right decisions. I wouldn't want to pay an extra 2000$ just to put screen accurate mirrors on, that I can't actually see out of. Keep up the great work Bob. Peace out brother 👍🏼.
17:30 "They'll never notice the *ROUND HEADLIGHTS* " ... Great eye! 18:55 The continuity experts were paid OT for that, LOL.
I love it when a van comes together! 🤣 Or plan 💪
"Like you're hangin' a fern in your house." You rock brother!
What a great build and I also really appreciate you taking the time to point everything out and give so much info and tips.
Thank you so much for walking us though this. Especially all small little details on what to look out for. Very helpful
Mr. T./B. A. Baracus would be proud of your A-Team Van! Thanks for posting your excellent video too!
Not many videos with that much detail on the van ! Thanks 👍
Excellent discussion on conversion. I learned a lot of amazingly interesting things.
Dude looks like Lo Pan from Big Trouble in Little China.
😂
👍😂
Absolutely great job on the van. Super cool.
Hey I am glad you said something about that van that appeared in the last 2 seasons with the 8 lug wheels. That WAS a different van. If you look at the taillights on it, they are different than the van from the first 3 seasons. I thought I was the only one that noticed that.
As someone that grew up with and later on driving these old Chevy and GMC conversion vans, I can attest that having power locks, a rear heater and cruise control is a must. Very cool van, build and look into the A-Team vans! :)
Nice job on the A-Team van, I understand how difficult it is to get it right, everybody’s a critic and they don’t know the open from the closed end of a wrench, good luck on the next build
When I was a kid I wanted the A team van. I'm 35 now and I still want it whenever I see some old american van, not a lot of them in Poland...
That was my favorite TV show when I was a kid. I even have the A-Team ringtone on my phone.
Awesome videobob. Grew up watching the A-Team. The van was definitely a huge part of the cast. Love knowing about it in detail. Very much appreciate your attention to detail and research on the van.
that's a brilliant A Team van very nice well done
You did an AWESOME jpb.
Back in the day when that show was popular, there were 7 family members that had cool Vans. Some were full-blown custom, some just nicely fixed up. But it was so cool Thanksgiving at Grandma's house. And everyone showed up with their van. By the way, I could hear that van running. That small block Chevy with some sound. LOL awesome.
Your A-team van's are awesome they look like they came from the show that's how good they are videobob
I worked for a courier company back in the eighties . We had a fleet of Chevys , Fords and Dodges and we drove them ! Fond memories ,I have of the ChevyVan/GMC VanDura . BEST vans ever built in my opinion .....
that van looks amazing
Van looks amazing, very nicely done indeed
Cool video of A-Team van 👌,, I absolutely loved watching the A-team when I was a kid ,
A big thumbs up from me here in Northern Ireland UK 👍👍👍
I loved the A team ..you did a great job..now i want one
Nice looking van, you did a great job. Thanks for the interior info nobody ever talks about the inside the of the van, that will come in handy when I do my A-Team inspired van...someday
For all intents and purposes you recreated great memories for lots of people. Great job! Who cares if everything isnt "Correct!" Anyone that sees it isn't gonna care! I wouldnt! 👍😎🇺🇸
You guys did a great job on the van.
looks great to me and who cares if its not 100% accurate
The spirit is there. That's the most important thing.
Besides if you wanted a 100% screen accurate replica one would have to choose a season and episode to do so. It's like KITT replicas. You have the pilot car, season 1 before KARR, after KARR. Season 2 car and seasons 3/4 cars.
Just found your channel tonight. Loving it! This video was interesting!!
I think hotwheels got the colour wrong. Definitely seems a darker grey in the series.
Love that van, I’m an 80s kid and remember when each of those classic episodes premiered.
Interesting and informative vid . I think blacking out the chrome mirrors (or satin gray ) would finish that off and the side exit exhaust would be way cool and make it even more unique .Thanks for watching all 5 seasons for us . This was from the era when TV was free ! Lol
That van is simply awesome it is so beautiful
Great version of the van. I'm a huge fan of the A-Team and especially the Van. I plan on building one after I build my Ls powered Durango and my Yukon XL are done
found you some helpful info for those that don't know what the original van's were I'm a huge fan of your work I love the content keep up the great work I'm also from TX
Love the old school A team van, had a red one that looked similar back in 77, tires , wheels, side pipes were same
Great van buddy, I'd love a street hawk in my garage.. loved the 80s.. still do.
Gotta say good on ya for watching the episodes! ESP knowing about the ecoline!
The scene that face jumps onto the second unit van what your seeing is the grip tape applied for the stuntman it is not a lack of paint👍
Oh yeah, didn't think of that, good one!
I always remembered the van being all black so good to know. In the 80s my mom use to take a ceramics class and sometimes she would bring me and the fist thing I ever painted was a small van in the A-team colors lol
The later version looks all black @ 2:58
I love this Van. Good build!
Oh gosh this van is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWESOME!!!!!
"hey man don't touch my van"
Great stuf.
Greetings, Kitty.
Good work on the van. Well done!
When it comes to screen accuracy there was so many versions really it is up to whoever wants to build it.
That's exactly what I was thinking. As long as the paint scheme is correct it will be easy to identify as the A Team van. Hell, if you want something a bit smaller you could even use a Chevrolet Astro cargo van.
Thanks for this! Just starting my build and this was very helpful!
Saw a mid 90s ford van painted just like the A Team van. It was hysterical, only in Oklahoma.
I lived in L. A. 80'-84' and saw them hauling an A-Team van on a trailer doing a shoot on Lankershim Blvd. Peppard was the only person of the 4 cast that i got a good look at.
because of the A-Team I love vans. I might not have a GMC 3500 or such, but I had a VW T6 Van (and loved it)
I build vans to, well done, I never liked the TV show but you have built a very nice van, great vid. William
This was a great guide to how to build it right, awesome
I never saw the van inside, apart from watching eps of A Team. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely awesome video, all the details you need. I luv you guys I always watch your videos. If I ever win the lottery I would fly straight to your workshop and order every movie car lol. Keep up the good work chaps. Az from uk
I love the 80's car shows like A-Team and Knight Rider. This is my first video I watched and now a new subscriber.
LOVE IT! WANT ONE! Awesome job bro!
Don't forget that during the heavy dialog, the interior was built on a sound stage so there could be continuity errors between the van and the stage. Great video by the way. Ive always dreamt of owning a van but I can never find a suitable van or money gets short.
great video!!!thanks from Spain
The van is cool. If I were buying one I'd request a darker grey, like the color in one of the earlier clips.
If I had the money I would certainly have you build me one of those Vans, love the video. When doing a TV show vehicle money should not be an issue, if you like something have it built.
Awesome Video !!! Nice Done Bob !! And thank you for that !
Sad thing is, I just watched the first season of the A Team, and didn't realize it was two tone with the gun metal top. :P I also thought they were all 3/4ton vans with the 8 stud hubs; I remembered those late-season vans but not the early season I just watched.
I'd like to find one, convert it to an A Team van, but set the back up as a camper of sorts with a bed and tiny kitchen.
Greetings from Ireland,Great video man. Nice to take a trip down memory lane. My kind of channel, keep up the good work.👍🏻
Very thorough. Good job!
I think that you did a fantastic job to recreate the A-team van.
Oh yeah that's the van from the past noone forgets. Grew up watching it.
no* one*
I enjoyed watching that thank you I never realised there was so much involved in it 🤗🤗👍
I’m from the UK by the way
I would love that van! I remember back in the 80's seeing a Bedford van in Blackpool painted like the A Team van. I was six at the time I was happy as a pig in shit seeing that! I also remember hearing a car round our way with the Dukes of Hazard horn . I would definitely have that!. I never saw one but there were people who done dukes of hazard cars out of Ford Cortina's.
I think it's nice! I really don't care about 100 percent accuracy. I built a general lee and it's got the stock blue interior and people still love it. I enjoyed this video.
One day, if able to afford one will contact You sir ( few years back spotted some clone in Poznan, #Polska but it was gone before making my mind to actually go there ). Since being a child, I'm still in love with the show. Watched it wherever possible, through years. Bought the entire collection of dedicated dvds with magazine & follow Mr. T on #Twitter ( hell he responds like a lot ! ) Meeting him would be so damn good too btw. Lastly, my uncle rly wanted a big Van for country road-trips - due to his work as BHP dealer but he suddenly passed away. So, having same interest, me want to bear his legacy and get as much joy as we both can from owning the A-Team vehicle. Bringing us together closer not to mention driving such a great car. Nothing less, nothing more. People like You sir are truly a bliss. Dedicated; passionate about their hobby sharing it with others.
Cheers
I really love this car. Nice greetings from Germany.
Nice Job on the van !!
I like the van you build. For most fan's of the show, it is nostalgia and if they decide to build a replica, it is how they remember it. Even if I know it has to be gunmetal gray. It is just not how I remembered it from my childhood. As explained it is just which version you like. I would prefer a more black car even if it isn't how it actually was on most of the show
Haters are gonna hate because that’s all they know how to do! Awesome Van!
Awesome, you probably don't remember me but we met in Burbank, California years ago I own KITT too. I was very impressed with the one you brought that time. Great job. I love the A-Team show was cool. After watching this video It makes to want to have one too but I love my 2015 Dodge caravan with all modern functionalities. I don't mind not being screen accurate but maybe I wouldn't mind to paint it like A-Team van just for fun. Well, that if I can convince my wife to let me do that. 😆
Keep posting more videos they are a lot of fun. In fact I would share on my #FotoRider page so other people can enjoy them too. Be safe and if you come back to the beautiful and expensive state of California let me know. Dinner is on me. 😁
See ya.
I pitty the fool who does not like this van!
Great video Robert! I can honestly say I never noticed those pinstripes until watching your video and seeing them in the clips you posted either, guess the image came out that much better on a modern LED TV than I expected. I do have experience when it comes to closing those side doors, my parents had '78 and '87 Beauville window vans when I was growing up, both with sliders and we were just used to closing those doors with enough force to have them close properly and rarely had that issue. I honestly didn't know there were issues with closing sliders until reading and watching auto reviewers whining about how "heavy" the sliders and back seats on the minivans were when things needed to be removed........guess when you're living with vans that are atleast 25% larger, it's not as noticeable🙄
Nice job on the Van!!!!
Love it , looks great.
i have a picture of myself in the late 80s or early 90s picking this van up at universal studios lol
Pretty legit! Thanks for creating and posting this video!
The Mandela effect. I remember The all black van with a red stripe
Mandela affect? What you on about, it was never all black, even as a kid in the 80s I remember painting up a toy version correctly because I was super pissed that it wasn’t the correct colours from the toy shop. So not mandela effect, more like your attention wasn’t very good at the time
@@northeast7412 it definitely was a lot darker than what these guys painted it.
Looks darker even in the old footage he shows as an example. I always thought it was all black, tv image quality was not great like today either.
I didn’t like the toy because it was all black. My favorite thing about the van was it had 3 colors.
UA-cam recommended this video for me..........spot on!!!
Yeah it was grey on top but I would have gone a little darker. If the A-Team was still in business they'd have LED light bars today lol
Well done! Thanks for video.
I love it. Man its quiet.. nice job
Kid Rock will love his new van ...
Just an awesome piece ...💪♥️😎🤙
Nice van good job on the build
I love the A-Team.
The only way to truly win dumb internet arguments is to simply not participate. You gotta ask yourself, "Is this person I'm arguing with ever going to be my customer?" If the answer is, "No.", then you've definitely got better stuff to do. Seriously that's a really neat van good luck with your business.
I've been ogling a mid eighties GMC van for awhile with the intent on building an A-Team van for daily use.
For those wondering why daily?
My answer? Why not!
My wife drives a '68 Beetle painted like a lady bug and my Jeep is zombie apocalypse themed.
Creeper Van Pete
Mia Wallace Hahaha! Not much creepy about the A-team Van. Given where I live, the Ecto would be a better choice though. Lots of cemeteries here.
Keep the Jeep & get a jeep Gladiator with A-team pin stripe
missingremote not getting rid of the Jeep. Van would make a great tow rig for the rest of the fleet though.
I swear the show was all black with the red stripe I even that scene you showed it does look black as it pulled up but then the close up u could see the gray
I thought that way to that the van was all black
The spray painted Amber lights was a great solution. They look great. Good on you.
Bad ass video, man. You guys do awesome work!
I was hoping when he turned the radio on that the A Team music would start playing. 😢
I would have done that but UA-cam would block my video for copyright....
Robert Videobob Moseley .. Roger that brother. Too bad. It would have been pretty funny. 👍
@@RobertMoseley shame, got it as my ringtone, someone calls and my phone erupts into gunfire as the tune starts lol
