One of the best DL videos ever produced. Straight fire.

I used a stack spike back in 2009 through the end of my career. It was a Game Changer

Did I miss how you should actually throw the ball? Or is a slider simply all in how you grip the ball and then throw it like a fast ball?

What about the sweeper/whirley bird grip being taught in some pro orgs? With index and middle apart on seams to get side spin

We did not include all the slider grips within this video, just the 3 that are most commonly used here in gym!

Hey very helpful video. Any cues for a throwing a slider while having a higher arm slot? I got a great 12-6 (efficient dropper) curveball but I want to add some slider.

Your best hope is a gyro slider, or a power cutter, very difficult to produce any sweep from a slot like that

Earliest suggested age to start to throw a slider?

Hey Coach! 13-14. If it's thrown properly there's no evidence suggesting it will be more stressful. Most important is if a younger pitcher is having fun/trying to throw hard, but we don't think there's anything wrong with working on a slider at a younger age.

What the hell is a cue???

Coaching cues are snippets of information used to teach athletes how to perform a task.
We try to create independent, self-sufficient athletes by minimizing cues, coaching intention, and letting athletes explore movement.
During a pitch design session, the instant feedback allows for "good" cues to be adopted quickly and tweaked and "bad" cues to be rejected, improving the accuracy of the feedback over time.
Not every cue is going to work the same for each athlete, so it’s important to come up with a variety of cues and also communicate with athletes on what they think and feel to come up with the best fit!
