Hey Eric! Another great video! I am still working on my ford transit connect. I went with a slideout style couch bed. I am disabled from back issues and having a full time couch/bed for me makes the most sense. Built it out of oak 2x2's for the framing and pine 1x4 slats. 28" x 72" and opens out to about 45"x 72". 2 turnbuckles hold it inplace to the frame of the van. It is 2 separate pieces one weighs about 25lbs the other maybe 15lbs. I tried to figure the best design to keep it light but strong. Working on the galley, will have 2 turnbuckles as well to hold it in place. 6 gallon water can for running water once i get it working lol. I put a maxxfan deluxe on the roof because the van is dark blue...let me tell you with just the front windows open an inch (I have those rain covers on my window) and the vent open, not even running it is much cooler in the van when in direct sun. I have an idea to try for something to leave the front windows open maybe 5" while sleeping with screens for more air flow. ttyl

@@ericenjoysearth2756 Ventilation here on the east coast, because of humidity is so important. Years back I had a fiberglass camper trailer. First summer I went somewhere that didn't have electricity and didn't allow generators it was a hot muggy day and the night it rained. I couldn't use the fantastic fan the trailer came with and I didn't really sleep well. When I got home I went on a forum I belonged to and someone suggested the maxxfan deluxe because of it's design it can be left open in the rain and the insides stays dry. I never closed it on the camper trailer, and it's been open in the van for the last month and a half and knock on wood it's still dry inside lol.
Yes Deryk you are right. Ventilation is the basic of temperature and humidity control. It’s the basic of a good night sleep. Opening and getting outside air is a must. A good combination of opening and ventilation will give good results. If there is no breezes, or no enough windows to open, using a fan is a must.

Hi Eric, I am using your videos for a Sienna build. You have inspired me to get out for some adventures and given an affordable way to so it! v Your plans are so well thought out and you explain them so clearly! Can you do a video on how you diid your electrical system? Thank you
Thanks for another great idea...maybe I'll decide to upgrade to solar! I sold the Transit, bought my Sienna, and I've been building my bed. It is inspired by your bed, but quite different. When I'm finished, I'll send you a pic. I had been thinking of just getting a small foldable solar and putting it outside via the sunroof on occasions when I needed to charge (I usually go home on the weekends and my 125 amp AGM seems to hold enough power for most of the week.) But seeing your solution makes me want to upgrade to permanent. It's at the bottom of the list, though! Finished floor, bed is in process (sleeping on the floor for the time being...), and then it's time to figure out the cabinet/sink piece. I think I'll be trying to copy your plan for that as much as possible. And I still need your table connection solution!! How many cans of that removable silicone did you need for that project?
Hey! Hello Wendy! It’s a pleasure to get some news!😃 Congratulations for your Sienna!👍 I used 1 or 2 cans of the sealant... just don’t remember...(?!) You have a good battery! Good choice! If you use a fridge, you most likely need a solar solution. If you don’t, you are probably ok the way you operate. There’s one thing that is really important, it’s to be sure not to go lower then 80% of your battery charge. Otherwise, you will damage the battery and it will not last long... I really do not regret my solar set up. It is really efficient and I am 100% autonome. I used a 100 watts solar panel. It is pretty efficient! Enjoy doing that cool project! It is so fun designing a van conversion! Give me some news! ✌️
Thank you, Eric. I just posted in your earlier video the exact question that you just answered in this video😉🙏. I’m wondering if most compact and mini vans have a similar place in the back doors where wires can be run from a top solar panel to inside the van. I was surprised you were able to do that without drilling a hole in the van. 👍🏾🌟😀
I think that probably any vehicle back door can be closed with those small cables. You can bring a piece of rope the same size and try it before buying the van... ✌️
I preferred, having the foldable Solar Pannel plus cabel to Powerstation. Both can stand wherever I like. As with yours you always need to stand with sun on your roof to load it.. we have 35°C in summer. So much to hot, so I park in the shadow and Solarpannel can stand in the sun
The thing, for me, is that I will not stay beside my van very long... always walking, freediving, surfing, canoeing,... Thanks for sharing another idea and point of view✌️
Wow Eric, very inspiring! I am about to design my own and your ideas are very practical. I am going to borrow them! Could you give the details on your roof rack system? It looks as though you extended it over the side, how many inches? How did you make it so wide? And safe? Thanks again!

Thanks Eric! I would love to see a video of how you pack all your gear inside your furniture and on your roof rack to go camping.
Thank you for the suggestion! Good idea!👍
Great job explaining! Looking forward to your video about heating the van.
It’s going to be a video about keep you warm in the van rather then heating the van.

You definitely need ways to cool down in Florida👍✌️
Also... did you just put 100 w panel?
Hey! Hello Wendy! It’s a pleasure to get some news!😃
Congratulations for your Sienna!👍
I used 1 or 2 cans of the sealant... just don’t remember...(?!)
You have a good battery!

Hi Eric;
If its not too much trouble would you give a basic video of your solar connections and how you run power to your systems?
This is going to be a very interesting video series. I am looking forward to do it. Thank you for suggesting ✌️

Thank you Brianna! I appreciate your comment! 👍
Wow, I love your ideas,
Thank you Mary!✌️
Thank you, Eric. I just posted in your earlier video the exact question that you just answered in this video😉🙏. I’m wondering if most compact and mini vans have a similar place in the back doors where wires can be run from a top solar panel to inside the van. I was surprised you were able to do that without drilling a hole in the van. 👍🏾🌟😀
I think that probably any vehicle back door can be closed with those small cables. You can bring a piece of rope the same size and try it before buying the van...
✌️
You rock Eric
Thanks 👍
Eric - best details on van conversion I've ever seen... thank you! Can you supply detail the LED lights you have in the ceiling? Best Regards, Mark
I will Mark. Thank you for your feedback and video suggestion 👍😃
Do you have a video about the battery, electrical, install in your van?

Hi Eric, can you provide steps/video links to how you made your rooftop solar shower? And how do you keep it pressurized? Thanks! Great videos!
It was s one of the coming ones videos... Stay tuned Jahve✌️
I love your channel your designs
Thank you Sheree!✌️
Great video! what sort of product did you use for the solar panel in addition to how to wire it on the inside - batteries, etc?
Thank you Ronnie!👍
I am using Renogy!
I will do a video about how I did my solar set up.
Thank you for this video!
It’s a pleasure ✌️
Thanks for these great videos!!!
I am glade that you appreciate ✌️
This is a good video suggestion! Good idea! I will explain everything in a video! Stay tuned my friend! ✌️
I’d love to know which rack system you’re using too. I am a surfer as well and am converting my Toyota Sienna! Your build is incredible honestly
Great Idea! I wish we thought about this, Thank you!
It’s a pleasure! Stay tune for more van conversion ideas and van life videos....👍
That's what I was looking for. It will be useful once we'll get our minivan.
