I never stand up while on the trails, I just don't seem as in control of the bike when I stand up. It raises your centre of gravity and when you're sat down your arms are at right angles to the bars so much more leverage can be applied if the front wheel decides it wants to go it's own way. Nice bike you have, not your typical Harley, sounds nice as well. Have fun👍
I felt the same way about standing and then went on the Mick Extance experience day and it all changed. In reality the centre of gravity doesn't change, and the bike just pivots around underneath you which feels to me like it makes it more nimble. Once I got into it, it feels really great and now I spend most of my time stood up even on the minor roads and then feels weird sitting down. I'd recommend giving it a good go.

I could have drove my car along that track.
Well, next time we'll have to bring your car and test it out!
