Im not sure if you know but there are some words in filipino that has different meaning in spanish like 'puto' in spanish means 'male prostitute' while 'puto' in filipino is a type of food.

Pero is not originally a tagalog word it's a borrwed word from Spanish which retains the same meaning - "but". "Pero like" is also a common expression among Hispanics in the US, in fact there's even a UA-cam Channel called "Pero Like" and they showcase variety of videos on Hispanic culture.
