What does this mean exactly? The time distance between this an Wano is like less than 2 months right? Law is over here getting his ass beat by Doflamingo yet less than 2 months later he's on par with Big Mom and Kaido wtf?

Same could be said with Luffy and Zoro and pretty much everyone tbh. It doesn't make sense when you use real world logic, but I look at it like DBZ where every fight and near-death situation brings haki bloom and increases the strenght, df powers, and battle iq. The progression in pre-time skip was pretty similar as well.

One Piece pretty much operates on Zenkai logic where being put in a situation of crisis allows you to come back from it exponentially stronger. Haki seems to also grow more and more both as a result of fighting but also in proportion to characters' actual "Ambition" (which Haki translates to). Law's Ambition to discover the mystery behind the Will of D and what exactly Corazon died for and give meaning to his death grew a lot after Dressrosa and supposedly what he can do with Room relates to his Haki andthe Haki of whoever he tries to screw with so maybe that's why he magically becomes Big Mom tier.
But I'm just spitballin', this is just semi-fact, semi-speculative headcanon. The real answer is probably because it's cool haha

Well I mean. At least with Luffy he went to Cake Island, fought against Katakuri, learned how to stay calm in a fight to be able to use Advanced Observation Haki. Then when he was in Wano he learned about Ryou and trained with that. There was at least an order to his training. And about that Zoro comment @textinface1. Hasn't it seemed like Zoro has been holding back in all his fights so far? The mermaid island was easy for him, Zoro vs Pica was clearly one sided and the only reason Zoro broke a sweat was cause Pica kept running away. I would arguably say that King vs Zoro is probably the first time Zoro goes all out.
Law on the other hand. After losing to Doflamingo he goes to Wano and stays in hiding there until Luffy comes back from Cake Island... Out of nowhere he's able to unlock his devil fruit ability? If his Devil Fruit was unlocked even before the Doflamingo fight... Why didn't he use it then? And yeah it's partly because of the stories plot evolution but there are still holes here
