I'm so sorry to read your update about the loss of your son. Thank you so much for sharing a bit of him with us through this video. I'm a pediatric resident, and these types of visual examples are so helpful for us when trying to learn about the many ways seizures can look in infancy. They're so hard to catch sometimes, so the more examples we see, the better we can help other families who may have concerns about their own children. Thank you again.
Thank You Daniel, We have always said if nothing else his purpose in life was to help others understand extreme intractable epilepsy's. One of our hospital stays was at a teaching hospital and one of the young nurses commented repeatedly how thankful he was that we were so open to having students care for him and ended up picking pediatrics as his specialty partly because of Gabe. Always happy to help.
Omg noooooooooooooooo!!!! Please do something to that poor angel!!!! Pleaseeeeeee 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 no sweety no!!! Keep calm!!! Please you gotta help your baby at any cost!! He is soooooooo precious!!!! Pleaseeeeeee 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Please do not judge this mom. Being a new mom is hard enough on top of that a baby with a medical condition no one is ever ready for it. You do what you think is best for your child. No one knows all the answers nor is anyone perfect. Sadly this baby passed away in 2019. Please give her some slack and don't be rude she suffered enough already . No parent should ever bury a child. May he RIP and don't listen to the ignorance of some. You are the best mom in my eyes hands down
Not that you knew but never put a baby on their back when they are going through those. Keep them on their side and rub their back. Lost my baby brother at 22 months from epilepsy. He was on his back, seized up in his crib and inhaled his throw up. I hope that precious baby is doing alright 🙏
For all those commenting on this video, a few things. 1: I was verrrrry new to seizures (had never seen one in my life) prior to having my son. Our doctors had said if you try to move his limbs or move his head and they/ it are "stuck" in that position then it is a seizure. Being as he was so small and his seizures were largely non vocal, it was hard to accurately count them early on. Yes I know now that trying to force a movement during a seizure can cause harm and I assure you I was not pushing that hard, simply seeing if he was seizing. Also, as I said, new to seizing so all the comments of lay him on his side, yes I should have done that, but you cant fix what you dont know and sadly I didnt know that at the time. Granted, he didn't have issues from that instance and thankfully never had choking or aspiration pneumonia which is rather unheard of in the medically intractable seizure community. 2: We moved to a state where you could get CBD oil (before it became classified as hemp and legal to use elsewhere) and saw a reduction in his daily seizures. He went from having at least 3 tonic-clonic a day to 1 a week but still had countless spasms. While the CBD helped his quality of life, we didn't see much improvement on the mental side. He was non-mobile, non-vocal and ate via g-tube. He had double hip dysplasia surgery at almost 5 years old due to them being 95% and 75% out of socket respectively (the majority of his seizures he would "scissor" his legs and effectively trained his muscles to pull his hips out over time). He went on Oxygen for the surgery and his lungs never fully recovered so he was on low flow oxygen at home from then on. Gabe started having cardiac episodes when he was 7 years old. We saw him have a heart rate as high as 210 bpm all the way down to 30bpm in the span of 12 hrs. His seizures started affecting every part of his body. On December 13th, 2019 after having a minor cold, Gabe passed in his sleep, he was almost 8 years old. We take great comfort knowing that he is not suffering and not fighting for bodily peace anymore, though we greatly miss him.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing. No parent should have to go through that. I understand, we lost our 4 yr old daughter Jan. 26th, 2019 to leukemia. 😢❤🙏🏽

I'm surprised by the number of people who don't know basic first aid procedures... I hope that if I ever have a seizure there's people around who actually know something and won't end up killing me. You're supposed to clean up the area so the person doesn't hurt herself and wait for the seizure to end, always paying attention to their breathing and then lay them on their side, with their head tilt back, in the recovery position. Also, remember to keep track of time. If you don't know if the person has a preexisting condition such as epilepsy you should call 911 asap
Beginning with epileptic seizures in infancy, my son lived 37 years with epilepsy before his tragic sudden death due to medical error. Larissa Spinola, I thank the Almighty for His/Her having placed sensible folks like you on this planet!

I read the comments, and initially thought he would grow out of it. At 8yrs old this would be such a painfully loss to the parents. God gave you a beautiful sole to experience and God wanted him back to be next to God. RIP dear boy you did make an impact on this world.
My daughter has seizures everyday kinda like these one. She was born with hydrocephalus microcephaly and ventricularmegaly. my heart goes out to this baby and his mom.
people didn't say anything when you said "lord" but got angry when someone else said the same thing but instead, they said "Allah"... people are so close-minded, Allah means lord but it's in a different language
@@rxndxmchxnnxl1930 Normally the only thing painful about a seizure is when some idiot shoves something in your mouth thinking they will stop you from swallowing your tongue. The only other way that it can be painful is if the person injures themselves during the seizure. Just make sure they don't bump into anything and never shove anything into their mouth.
I was just thinking this! I really wish people did more research on seizures. Do NOT lay anyone on their backs! ALWAYS THE SIDE! INFANT TODDLER OR ADULT! I suffer with epilepsy
@@lmlslife yeah I don't have words for how strong you are. I'm positive that baby's entire life was filled with love and you are responsible for that ❤️❤️❤️
you guys do realize that forcing limbs or any body part into any kind of position is EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL ! there is no need to move a person having a seizure unless there is risk of harm, such as rolling off a high surface, banging their head on something, etc.
@@alanah3775 you're absolutely right-both you and Kelly H...if you notice, as soon as she turned the baby's head, it was having a much harder time breathing. No hate towards her though, I'm sure she's an amazing mother and I couldn't imagine seeing my child go through this
I'm extremely sorry for your loss.He is having good times in heaven.I was crying a lot when I was watching it. Alee no then you don't know seizures. You're awake one moment and I'm a instant you are awake again. It is more painful for the parent to see. I have epilepsy.
Beautiful baby The baby suffered a lot He couldn t continue in that way. Sorry he passed away but he is in peace now .In a place where there is no suffering
Thank you so much for posting. My daughter had her first seizure last week. It was so terrifying and I had no idea what to do. Just being able to research and educate myself is making me feel a little bit better. I’m so sorry for your loss.
69peridot Notice how I said ‘usually’ not ‘all the time’ or ‘always.’ So what I meant was that a small amount of people actually remember their seizures.
My son was born with epilepsy. I know how hard it is to sit there & be completely unable to help them, when they're having a seizure. God bless your baby!!
I randomly came across your video and I’m so sorry to hear Gabriel has passed away. Thank you for sharing a piece of him with us and sharing more visual presentations of seizures to help other parents recognize it in infancy. He knew he was loved and will be waiting for the day you meet again. *Hugs*❤️❤️❤️
That was so hard to watch. It made me Just want to pick him up and cuddle him. It must have been Hell for you. Hope he's doing well all these years later.
You handle this so beautifully and calmly. My 7yo has been siezure free since October & only had 3 last year :))))) Even though people have opinions of what to do and what not to do, this mum did just great, so tempting to just pick them up and cuddle but you cannot, and we know the timings after a while of when an ambulance needs to be called. As a mum having to ride through, sit and wait for each fit to go its course, you have a great knowledge of your child's pattern and know when the time is coming to call an ambulance, 12 mins was average fit time, speed dial at 12m 30 sec for an ambulance, cancel it if she came out of it by 13m A trip to the hospital was the worst thing for her and we avoided it unless absolutely necessary. All she wanted to do was sleep, & a trip to a&e meant a huge disruption to her schedule over the next day or 2, absolute confusion andupset when shewoke upand wasnot in her bed etc We are fortunate, there are hundreds of types of siezures out there and we probably got dealt with the easiest to manage. Hope your prognosis is good, I'd the epilepsy is here to stay, your boy is in the best hands. PS your voice is so soorhing :)
I had tonic-clonic seizures as a child and seeing this made me break out into tears. I am truly sorry for your loss. I am 22 now and lucky to be typing this. God bless.
I’ve only just watched this video and time has passed. I’m sorry for your loss, you did what you could for the little one and you could do no more. Now he sleeps with the angels and is out of pain. This video will help other mums to cope with this illness if it , god forbid, should happen to their child. So thank you for sharing and helping others.
This brings tears to my eyes and tears at my heart. It must be so very difficult to have to watch your baby suffering and struggling with seizures and unable to help. I hope hope your little young man will be able to have control over his episodes with help. It's been a while since the video, and my prayers are going out to you and your family. God bless you 🙏

I don't know why does adorable infant like Gebe or Beans has to have life threatening diseases like seizure and cancer, it just doesn't fit and such suffering are indeed cruelty of the nature! I had a friend who was good to me had seizure too and I witnessed his suffering! I haven't seen him for a long time! I hope he is still alive! Praying for these unfortunate patients and God bless them with his love and grace no matter where-in the earth or heaven he keeps them.
My son has had seizures for 20 years (drug resistant seizures) he's 22 years old now, nonverbal and between one and two years old mentally. It really helped me to watch Ray Comfort's videos and movies, he explains why bad things happen on this earth. And the answer to it. God Bless!
I am so sorry for your loss. It had to be incredibly hard seeing him suffer through the seizures and not being able to take that pain away for him. Sending you all the love.
Some people are born without certain Electra like things in the brain causing muscle spasms which are usually in like tourette's and epilepsy is like a really really bad case of tourette's when that certain electrode is triggered it can cause muscle spasms and you go completely unconscious sissy just happened because in imbalance in chemicals and missing electrode
This truly breaks my heart. How would a first time parent even begin to know that its a seizure this poor sweetheart was having? I've had a child & im not even sure i would be able to figure that out. I sure hope parents were able to get him some help. Children should never suffer.
For all you "bad mommy" accusers, you are not supposed to to touch ANYTHING that is having a seizure. I know it seems wrong, but would you want the poor kid to die from choking or something of the sort?
OMG... how is he doing now? I had to shed some tears seeing this video. I pray that the Lord heals him and restore him to full capacity to never feel this pain and the discomfort again.
Oh my goodness, thanks for letting me no of this unfortunate news. The good news about it, this child is in Heaven, a better place where there is no more pain.

Omg poor precious boy! I'm terrified just watching this, I can't imagine how scared and confused he must feel when this happens. Poor Mommy too. How awful this must be to watch daily knowing that he's distressed and knowing there's really nothing you can do other than comfort him. What a scary helpless feeling you must be facing. Prayers for you both
I'm going through All of this. My grandson is 7 this February. Seizures at 3 months on. Cant sit crawl roll or hold a bottle. Nothing at all. Feeding through the g tube. Had the same surgery ur sweet baby had. My grand baby has respiratory problems. Its sad your story. Im afraid to even imagine going through that. Despite every thing wrong with my grandsons health he still likes to laugh. Hes got neurological damage. But still knows every now and then when somethings funny. He can't communicate nothing... but hes very loved and it hurts me knowing you lost your precious baby. I couldn't imagine. Breaks my heart and made me tear up watching you videos. 💙💚💛

My son had seizures when he got his DPT shot 30 yrs ago. He froze and shook hard. I thought I'd die watching this as I dialed 911. When this baby was hiccuping I believe he was seizing. I always watch videos like this so I can learn what different types of seizures look like in babies. I have 12 grandbabies and this video may help us all be educated and know what to look for. May God bless n heal this 👶
I’ve got epilepsy and seizures are beyond terrifying! Although I have no memory of the 10 min right before my seizures-or the actual seizure itself but when I start coming out of it I’ve got memory and words can’t describe everything I feel and the place my mind goes to. It’s an emotion and response I never felt before
I pray for Gabriel, A baby should never have to go through anything like this. i can't imagine having a child and looking at the baby knowing it can't control this. I cried, Rest in peace Gabriel. 💕💕
I have added more videos of him to my channel, they are still from when he was little. He is over 2.5 years old now and still seizes about 3x a day with basically constant spasms. We have tried the Ketogenic diet, steroids and over 8 medications with no success in achieving full control.
Try GOD he is the only one who cures. He open the eyes of the blind. He cure people. But you have to give him your life. Live just for him for the rest of your life. Then you'll will see the miracle..
Please try cannabis based products if this is still ongoing. NO I do not mean SMOKING. There are oils derived from cannabis and other cannabis based products that for many reduce seizures from several a day to one a week or even rarer.
sexy lexii there are different types of seizures but I have never heard of anyone feeling pain. Maybe the baby is panicking or feeling scared I remember feeling scared when I had seizures.
antonela bakavic Purpose of sharing is to educate. I'm pregnant and have epilepsy, this is the first time I've seen a baby have a seizure. Very interesting.
@Tacitto Jenni this is also to help figure out that the baby is having one. my niece didn't have very classic signs of her epilepsy at first. there are different kinds and it's helpful to have visuals.
@Dr Sr its for educational purposes. until you've been in this sort of situation, you won't get it. don't judge someone for uploading something that helps other terrified families going through the same thing. it's just a visual aid for explaining seizures. if you can't handle that, don't watch these sorts of videos.

Reading what you wrote brought tears to my eyes. I'm really sorry for your loss and wish you all the strength. Thank you for sharing this
Poor sweet baby angel may the lord help him and all his glory

He's so cute. Poor thing. I have seizures too and they're genetic. I feel bad for him.
Is it painful when you have a seizure? Or do you kinda just blank out?
What is it like to have one? Does it hurt? Can you see anything? Is it cold? Why do people shake when they have one?
I hope this isn't rude, but what is it like?
@@rxndxmchxnnxl1930
Normally the only thing painful about a seizure is when some idiot shoves something in your mouth thinking they will stop you from swallowing your tongue.
The only other way that it can be painful is if the person injures themselves during the seizure.
Just make sure they don't bump into anything and never shove anything into their mouth.
You're not suppose to lay them on their backs during seizures! on their SIDE so they don't choke on saliva / mucous / vomit :/
***** you need Jesus :/
***** three months later and I just got your joke lol
I was just thinking this! I really wish people did more research on seizures. Do NOT lay anyone on their backs! ALWAYS THE SIDE! INFANT TODDLER OR ADULT! I suffer with epilepsy
Palmina D'Alessandro you're not suppose to touch someone having a seizure all. Together
You can turn their head to the side just like she was doing. Don't criticize her for doing what was right 🤦🏻♀️

you guys do realize that forcing limbs or any body part into any kind of position is EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL ! there is no need to move a person having a seizure unless there is risk of harm, such as rolling off a high surface, banging their head on something, etc.
Kelly H I might be wrong but don’t you have to put their head on the side so they don’t choke on their toung or saliva or something

It’s scary for the parents and the people around him, but usually people/babies with seizures don’t remember the pain and fear.

So what I meant was that a small amount of people actually remember their seizures.

I have added more videos of him to my channel, they are still from when he was little. He is over 2.5 years old now and still seizes about 3x a day with basically constant spasms. We have tried the Ketogenic diet, steroids and over 8 medications with no success in achieving full control.
Keep trying different things. A friend of mine is on a cocktail of drugs and it works.
Try taking your child to a chiropractor. I have seen several children who had seizure disorders find resolution through chiropractic adjustments

sexy lexii there are different types of seizures but I have never heard of anyone feeling pain. Maybe the baby is panicking or feeling scared I remember feeling scared when I had seizures.
People stop saying STOP RECORDING the doctor may want her to record it
antonela bakavic Purpose of sharing is to educate.
My daughter is epileptic and her neurologist wants me to record them!
More importantly, if this bothers you so much why did you click on the video to watch it to begin with?!
@Dr Sr its for educational purposes. until you've been in this sort of situation, you won't get it. don't judge someone for uploading something that helps other terrified families going through the same thing. it's just a visual aid for explaining seizures. if you can't handle that, don't watch these sorts of videos.
