Train Sim World: Resetting from a PCS / Alerter Emergency Stop
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 сер 2024
- When the alerter goes off and you don't respond to it, the train will be brought to an emergency stop - it's assuming that if you can't acknowledge the alarm then something is seriously wrong and the train should be stopped for safety reasons.
When this happens, the Pneumatic Control Switch (PCS) will lock the controls out until a correct reset procedure is undertaken - in this video, I'll show you how to do that and also how you can simply turn the alerter off by disabling its fuse if you prefer.
6 years later and still helps
Yeah
PCS stands for "Power" control switch. It cuts the power during an emergency, and can trip for other reasons.
It stands for Pneumatic Control Switch.
Mine keeps tripping for no reason on TS2020 Sherman Hill. No alerter or anything just randomly trips out of nowhere ever after activities such as adjusting inputs.
@@stephenmartin5766 What locomotive? Are you sure you're not accidentally hitting the emergency brake key?
@@stephenmartin5766 That one super easy, that's a newer model that trains are using, less complications if you ask me. its all laid out in front push that yellow button in the middle that's the Alert button reset, then if same problems keeps happening go to your fuse box which could be behind you or inside that area below left hand side or just look around find the Alert fuse switch and just simply shut it off like how this UA-camr explained. So I hope this helped
My Loco engine totally died, no engine sound.......could just hear the birds tweeting. I was using the Union Pacific engine in scenario mode on Caltrain missions......turned everything off, waited.....all back on .......nothing, just restarted the mission again. Only have the game a week on PS4, but what a find!......I went from playing Red Dead redemption online to this......its *that* great. Downloaded some DLC too, Canadian Oakville yard, BR freight ops, another engine for Caltrain missions......and found out that by doing this it gives you more missions......excellent, and the LIRR engine......a very happy camper
Big thanks! Now I don't have to restart the scenario when this occurs any more!
I like the tips and understanding of how to stop it from happening and thought it show it on it's tutorial, but shows it on the London trains but sense your constantly goin and stopping, it wont do it as much, unless if you where doing long hauls thru places where your more easily distracted, I've read some the comment's on here, and that PCS has a full spectrum of different meanings. But most important, don't spout anything you don't know, I'm a train enthusiast and take my research to next level by talking to train fans or actual train conductors about certain topics, but yes what you all say do all mean that. but theirs a PCS meaning for Path Coordination System, then Pneumatic Control Switch is a type of switching device that uses air to send thru a PCP piping to activate a circuit to activate that device that's on. then Power Control Switch doesn't mean nonthin but simple way to explain this that the power to the train itself, It's literally the shut of and on switch or a circuit breaker to the main power switch of the locomotive to itself.
I got this emergency brakes application testing this same Service Eastbound coal and don't knew how to restart. Well now I know with your very help full video and explanations. thank you very much @Mattpeddlesden ;-)
Very well done video! Thank-you for making it!
Thanks for this explanation. I ran in this with TS2020 and Shermanhill. I got a PCS triggered and did not know how to reset. Waiting 2 min is a key hint! Tnx!
I just discovered this in the GP40-2 after A hard stop. I then noticed the red “PCS open” Thing. the locomotive would Go, But the I couldn’t go in reverse. The only direction I needed to go. But I could go forward. eventually I couldn’t even move. I went to the Engine, opened the doors to the prime mover, I throttled the Governor in the Engine, It was running. I didn’t know, Until this Video, Thanks!!!!
Ya
Thanks i didnt now where they alarm button is... rest is clear
Thanks
I just wonder if the "black box" records the event that the engineer switched off the fuses, or if he can find a way of conceiling his or her "little cheat" in the real life?
You sure have great FPS on your O.S.
I am contemplating TSW, but I am doubtful that performance will be as good with my beloved T.S 2018.
Superb video and audio presentation!
🙏🏽 Thank You!!
Thanks! That was very helpful. I still wasn't able to get the train moving the way you explained by getting the brake pressures up after 2 minutes. This maybe due to the video done during the beta version of Heavy Haul. The moment I turned off the breaker, bam!, the pressures came right up. Could you pls redo the video on an updated version of this game? I still need to figure out how to get the loco moving without having the breaker permanently shut off.
Ty for this one.
I have another problem, I'm stop and my train got no energy, can't continue my mission oO
Have you an idea ? For me, it's a bug.
Can you turn off the warning system on the sd70ace?
in this new game, will passing a red light without asking quit the map instantly? that was the most petpeewe of mine...i mean i have a slow computer and reloading a map sometimes took a couple minutes even and then replay the last hour of the gam because i tripped the light at 2kph while stopping...you probably know what im talking about :D
just trip a huge minus points or something but don't have any status of kicking the player out, fatal blowback another one like this :D i want to see my fireman screaming while alit! :D
Márton Szabó yes run a red light instant mission fail
@@BigBudzGaming that's stupid
Railfan Graham I agree
is there a way to deactivate the alerts for my Metro North p32
Matt Peddlesden I like Freight trains in the USA and I was wanting to know how I can purchase some of the game sceneries you play on UA-cam? Basically want to get started in doing what you do with twitch. Please give me instructions on how to get started?
Hey, I've been running Microsoft and Dovetail Train simulators for a while now BUT my laptop (7 years old) doesn't run them well anymore , real slow and sluggish, and getting ready to buy a new laptop, will you please tell me what I need inside to make my TS run again like it use to. Thanks, James Lee
Thank you so much
One time I did not have the fuse on and it glided me off the train with no alarm to stop the train
Mine kept doing this and after releasing the brakes the train wouldn't produce any power in order to move no matter what I did.
Anyone happen to know if the raildriver controllers which are around I think $200 (USD) work with TS2017? I think they do with 2018 and 2019
Didn’t work, when I put power if shows how much power there is but the train is not moving anyone know why
Where are the f***ing tutorials for this shit in the game? I can't understand a thing on what's happening in this game, since they never explained this shit you're talking about in this vid. Like WTF...
Thank you for the explanation, I rage quit this shit because of this
You don't have to wait 2 min you can start the PCS reset once the brake pressure reaches 0
What train is that??
How do u shut it off on ps4
Also if anyone is interested someone made a Joystick interface for TS2017, 2018, 2019 (Just find the version that works best for you, I use actually the latest one in x86 mode with TS2017 I think running in 64 bit mode which is odd but it works. I have to hit escape to pause TS2017 every say, 15 minutes typically if it crashes, and restart the interface. Works with my T-Flight HOTAS X and should work with basically any joystick/throttle that's USB anyway.) www.dropbox.com/sh/cbwyvjrt3x6gxat/AAB5WALzXgIqxADDO1ST-rBqa?dl=0
What a load of rubbish it doesn’t work
