O Whitesnake é uma banda britânica de hard rock fundada em 1978 pelo vocalista David Coverdale, ex-integrante do Deep Purple. A formação inicial da banda contava com Micky Moody e Bernie Marsden nas guitarras, Neil Murray no baixo, Dave Dowle na bateria e Peter Solley nos teclados. Com seu álbum de estreia homônimo, o Whitesnake conquistou sucesso moderado, mas foi com o lançamento do álbum "Ready an' Willing" em 1980 que a banda ganhou maior reconhecimento.
Nos anos 80, o Whitesnake passou por várias mudanças em sua formação. Durante esse período, a banda alcançou grande sucesso comercial com álbuns como "Slide It In" (1984) e "Whitesnake" (1987). You are not alone. One either is okay with a solo or not interested in it, and that's fine. Believe it or not, the main reason Ringo was hired was because he hated drum solos, as did the other Beatles!
