- In this video, I explore the world's biggest nightclub Privilege Ibiza originally known as Ku Club (1979-95) It's the world's largest club according to the Guinness Book of Records, also defined as a superclub with a capacity of 10,000 people. It is located close to the village of San Rafael, Ibiza, Spain less than one kilometer from the nightclub Amnesia Ibiza, the history of Privilege began in the early 1970s when it started out as a restaurant, then expanded to include a bar and a community swimming pool. It was then known as Club San Rafael. In 1979, the venue was sold The venue then changed its name to KU. The appeal of the club was such that it commissioned a medium-length film showcasing the many wonders of Ibiza landscapes and nightlife in the mid-eighties. According to official statistics published in the 2003 edition of Guinness World Records Privilege is by far the world's largest nightclub covering an area of 69,968 sq ft (6,500 m) and holding 10,000 clubbers, Designated areas of the club include the Coco Loco bar area, and the La Vaca dance area (now known as the Vista Club) A number of live performances at the venue have included Duran Duran, Grace Jones, Kylie Minogue, Freddie Mercury, Spandau Ballet
The clubs in Ibiza are left like abandoned buildings this summer on the island. There are many super clubs in Ibiza, the others are Dc10, Pacha, Amnesia, Eden, Es Paradis, Hi Ibiza, Ushuaia Beach Hotel, O Beach Ibiza

Used to work there some summers ago, and was a huge change seeing everything from the inside in daylight, and once night came, whole club (including Vista) becomes another place, for sure. Thanks for bringing back some memories when I was working hard there for everyone’s “partying”, back when COVID wasn’t around at all.
I miss performing in Ku back in 84,85 and 86. The Ku Bbreakdance Team was the name. We were the first dance groups perform nightly. Miss having a great time in Ku. The best put together parties. I would love to see Ku bring back those amazing parties where people dress to the theme of the party. Dwayne we should talk.

Great vlog! Thanks for showing us around while the club is empty. Not been in Privilege for years but remember being completely blown away with the sheer size and scale of the club when I first went to Manumission in 99. Had many a great night in there from Manumission to Xtravaganza. The coco loco bar, DJ in the toilets, out door bars and the huge outdoor dome. Would love to go back for Resistance as it's looks insane! 👍

My favourite memories of it are Tiesto with Mark Knight doing an incredible warm up set (actually preferred him to Tiesto), but my favourite of all time and a real eye opener on my first visit to Ibiza was Manumission! Blinding night and such a shame they are no more. Keep the Vlogs going chap and good luck for the winter 🍻

Club Ku opening night circa 91/92.... I remember the opening track was Song for guy by Elton John, fireworks lit up through the back windows, lots of happy people, white Italian caps, pure bliss. Thanks for showing this, brought back some really nice memories of this very special place.

Been there the once but it was for the most iconic night that the club as ever had. MANUMISSION.
That was in 1998. Hopefully be back next year to re-live it. 2015 was the last clubbing break. But definitely there in October next year for a chilled one.
Personally the best looking club is Es paradis. Just amazing.

I remember going to Manumission in the 90s with 2 pals. We accidentally lost one of them almost immediately. The taxi queue outside in the morning is ridiculous! I remember getting back with a pal at 9am in San Antonio Bay. Our other friend was so off it, he walked from Manumission to the Bay. He turned up exhausted at 1pm. Such amazing memories!

Out of all the times i've been to Ibiza this is the one club I never properly been inside...well I did go once after Zoo Project but we never made it out of the first bar/room! I kid you not i've actually found myself using Google streetview to circumnavigate the outside in idle moments over the summer lmao.
If you ever go back in filming I was reading about some of the original features of Ku Club that are still there which would be really interesting to see. I recognise this might be quite niche content tho haha. Keep up the great work.

Absolutely mental the vibe in that place back on Tuesday 29.AUG 2017 @ Resistance Sasha and Digweed. Super grateful we got to experience this massive club. Very interesting perspective, it being empty. Loved the vlog mate.

The first year we went to manumission (2000) we were very unprepared, was skint after buying a round and for the rest of the night we had to borrow ice cubes from the bar to keep hydrated! The lift out there from bar M was mental, a local in his Fiat uno with a wheel bearing louder than his minidisc player! Each year after that we took plenty coin and had a ball. Sadly my clubbing days are over but o I would love to see the resistance show in there.

Love this place! Still remember first walking into Privilege for Manumission in 1997 several days after finishing my GCSE's blew my mind! Been back multiple times over the years and still amazes me! Can't wait to get there again!

Hi from Canterbury in Kent. I was there when it was KU back in 1994,Monday night for manumission. It was incredible,back then they had a swimming pool inside & a little roller skating rink. I have never experienced another club night like it & now I’m in my early sixties I doubt I ever will. Such great memories of my holiday to Ibiza,I also experienced a brilliant night at PACHA.

Me and my mate went to shine five years ago such an awesome place, we sneaked in the main room I was gobsmacked how big it was truly mind blow, we had the time of our lives, my mate started crying as soon as we walked in, thanks for doing these vids I can remember like it was yesterday keep up the good work, were coming over May 20th for my dad's Birthday Carnt wait to see what's on🤷♂️ defo be going to one of the super clubs👍🏻👍🏻😁

Been many time both there and amnesia, over the years totally mashed, 🤯😵, haha
Seeing Fatboy Slim in the toilets is a big memory of mine too, plus them selling sheets of loo roll as you went in! Remember being in the restaurant within the club and the waiters all naked aside from tiny aprons....had steak and chips off my face....never a good idea then ashamed to say we did a runner without paying...all young and daft once eh. Also they had Gurning Police, dwarves in police outfits firing water pistols at you when you were off it and a HUGE bed in there with everyone just wasted on there. Smokin Jo was always best DJ, Manumission nights were the best and simply cannot be matched

Stumbled across this video which brought back many happy beautiful feelings it was great retracing your footsteps, from the long walkway up too the club entrance brought back locked away memories the club nights on Monday's at Manchesters Manumission are ingrained in my DNA. The nights full of happy multinational loved up people.. back then it was unleashed care free dancing high energy all night long, it was amazing to see the club in the day light.. I remember back in the day the giant back windows would open up at sunrise to let the warm sunrays signaling the party to move onto space.... no mobile phones, no egos, no influencers.... im now 56 and I still get a rush or goosebumps when I here a tune from those times.....

Hi Dwayne..In the summer of 2003, and 2004.. I was Manumissions Props and scenes Artist, in Privilege.During the day painting props in the main room,with the massive roof open.Then had the most wonderful magic night with VIP pass..all summer. In 2004 I DJed in Privilege over the famous swimming pool, in the main room,for Balearic people. I remember two trees growing inside!

Great vlog. This place has fascinated me ever since I've been going. It's legendary. I first went in 1997 to a 'trade' gig & saw daft punk live 😯 which was just incredible to witness. The VISTA club is so so cool too, staggering out of there with my ears ringing many many times. Getting out of the car park in the dark is an experience too 😂😂
That’s amazing! Love knowing the video hits a spot for everyone, I’ve been studying peoples emotions for years on social media through Ibiza content so I think all the videos will get big fast. Just sometimes takes the fun out trying to arrange a time and date etc

It was unreal. 🙌😃
My life changed that week in Ibiza,
Was addicted to the island and dance music after that.
Followed it up with 7-8 holidays there over the years since 😝😝

Great vlog never seen it empty, I was there in 1994 for the first year of Manumission when it was & went many years after. I seem to remember there being a pool inside where clubbers would jump into I think that got banned in the end. Is the pool still there?

August 1978, Eddie's Grant concert at KU. I was 17 y/o and I lived this mythical night. Unforgettable!

I first went there for manumission 99, I remember boy George playing in the toilet, their was a DJ booth at the bottom of the stairs in the main room toilets on the left looking to the big windows, there was a guy selling potatoes out of a sack, and he sold out!
I remember a platform that used to extend over part of the pool when the DJ booth was on a bridge over the pool, I still remember the sensation on the floor bouncing when members of mayday 10 in one was played.
The last time I went I wasn't keen (Tiësto night) Meganight with picotto and Ricardo farri live was amazing but massive curtains shut off the back of the main room.
Best memory was early morning 9am ish, Griff was playing and the sun was shining through the massive windows at the back, a surreal moment I'll never forget
