Mine is scratch built with an AUW of 61ounces. I didnt have to add any weight up front. Its a 3548 motor with 2200 3 cell lipo. Its needs lots of downthrust or be prepared to add in down elevator. Crashed mine recently when it stalled but now fixed. I'm sure yours could take a few more ounces. Better extra weight than tail heavy!
That's one great looking bird. Built mine from a kit, stretched' rout to an even 120 inches widened the fuse out a smidge for a 5000 mah 5 cell batt, 60 amp esc and a power 46 spinning a graupner 13x6 folding prop. Had to add some tail weight with that setup. Little overkill on power maybe but she climbs quick and still glides well. Not sure of the auw
I rarely use full throttle on climb out and should have built in more down thrust. Its soon out of sight if not careful. I'm now flying with the Taranis and full telemetry. great having the audio and no need to glance at the Tx. Thanks for watching
xyh 3548 790 kv from Giant Shark and 13x6 prop getting 270 watts at full throttle and only 25amps. I've since brought the motor wires out of the fuselage and back in to avoid any contact with spinning case. The battery is a 3s 2200 lipo. Thanks for watching. Glad to help.
Thanks for watching. I'm still learning how to avoid the stall when flying away with power on! I'm not sure how he would feel about electric. I'm now building an aileron wing with less dihedral.
