Due to budget constraints I’ve had most of my life I played tib wars and kanes mid life crisis on Xbox 360 until earlier this year when I got the ultimate collection on origin (now ea app) and the difference in experience caught me off guard I kinda see why people prefer the pc versions of the game but I still play Xbox 360 of these games regularly but I can’t deny the experience of playing tib essence and one vision keeps me returning to the pc port
It was shocking how competently put together the console controls for both Tiberium Wars and RA3 were. I'm sure PC players probably felt some level of compromise to the overall vision and depth of the games since design was undoubtedly compromised to some level to accommodate gamepads, but as a more casual RTS player its hard for me to notice any of those compromises. RTS had a bright future on consoles, its a shame it never caught on.
I discovered C&C3 TW when I was six or seven years old, on Xbox 360, and that's probably why I pretty much mastered the pad controls. Only a week ago I tried for the first time Kane's Wrath and some days ago i finished the campaign on Xbox One on hard with all insignia obtained, it wasn't too hard at all, only sometimes I experienced a little annoyance with the commands, for example for the quick control of the units and the selection, which I actually didn't have that much on Tiberium Wars, in fact I find the previous commands much better, but all in all I very enjoyed the game and the campaign
I don´t know about TW and KW but played RA3 on PS3 and I think the controls were amazingly implemented. Passed whole campaign on medium and enjoyed it. The pop limit (cos of console) was actually plus. You couldnt just spam any units, you had to more carefully craft your army composition and combine units (and use their potential). Defense structures also were more useful because of this, you could have any number of them.
Have you ever played Kane's Wrath on an Xbox?

I can't imagine playing an rts on an xbox
It's almost as bad as not using a mouse.
Halo Wars is the only game that has done it right imo
C&C 3 Tiberium Wars makes Halo Wars 1 and 2 look like kindergarten play...
