The Audiomodern LOOPMIX is a sick VST! I can definitely see myself grabbing that! Anything that can bring new life to my hard drives upon hard drives of music, will get my attention.
You did the best demo so far. It's just a a but expensive but worth it for some ( can't vibe days) for sure. Thanks again for your take on it, your stamp of approval means a lot. EDIT; They lowered the price from what it was earlier this week. It was much more expensive. Now I just may get it at $50. Thanks again, if you had not done a review on it I may have never looked at it again.
Thank you for this fair and in-depth review, Ave! Playbeat made me an Audiomodern fan so I'm hyped for this one. I have tons of loops in my collection that I have no idea what to do with... well, now I know :D
That's interesting. I use the same workflow in Maschine. Normally I make my own break patterns with different kits in Addictive Drums, record the loops in Maschine, then layer them as audio tracks in gate mode. Then I resample with some distortion and compression and that's it. This though is WAY more flexible with the assignable fx and remix feature. Pretty fucking cool.
@@AveMcree exactly what I was thinking as I watched your vid - this is the Maschine 'audio' chopping worfklow as a nifty plug-in with some extra creative juice thrown in ... it's one of my fave features of Maschine, part of me thinks it's overkill but I'll probs get it anyway, at least compare and contrast!
I have never seen any video make good use of audiomodern plugins when it comes to hiphop music genre. So does this too. I was seriously considering about getting the bundle of audiomodern plugins. But now I can't decide.
@@robertablanca6469 You bought loopmix? So what is your opinion. Do you like it? I already have serato sample but you know loopmix looks more handy and could save time. I wish you kindly share your experience.
When Loopmix was first released, I thought it would be very popular - even though it’s very similar to Playbeat 3 - but enhanced [could have been Playbeat “4”]. Is it like a 6 track DAW? Is it a sample chopper and sequencer like what’s built into Ableton or Logic? Does it overlap with Serato? Yes, Yes and Yes! Maybe without a definitive use, that’s been the problem. It’s cool and fun to play with, but how it fits into the composition of a song is vague in practice.
I was going to buy this but realised I can do the exact same thing using take lanes/ comping in ableton and get similar if not way more wild results. but this is fun for an easy way.
Good point. I think I'll try Loopmix demo and Ableton, and see what's faster. I'm an Ableton beginner (tried MPC software before, but had trouble with my Akai pad controller in that DAW).
I tried the trial version on Linux / Wine. It plays audio, but the GUI doesn't get updated in time (had to minimize / maximize the window to see GUI response). I think they have to implement multi-thread tasks for audio and GUI. My CPU usage is at ~10% while running the VST3. So I'll wait for an update, and learn Ableton in the meantime.
Considering Loopmix after this review. have demo now. I was looking for something that could also play sample chromatically! Dont think Loopmix does that. Still ery quick at generating loop sequences. Also looked at Initial Slice by Initial Audio.
Been waiting for a alternative to Live Slice for years now. This is not quite it for me I think because you can’t drag and drop the slices around yourself. Going to demo it though.
Can anyone please tell me how I can tell Loopmix to play sound at a specific time in Ableton Live??? (Loopmix is currently only playing immediately when I press play in Live. I need a specific time, not an immediate one).
This plugin is extremely confusing to use. it keeps generating sound at random, unwanted times and it's completely ignoring all midi files that I exported from it and dropped into ableton. I only want sound to play specifically where the actual midi file is at in my project. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Great vst, they have a free version that is close to fully functional. Buy it if you can, but no big deal, just add your samples to the factory sample folder and it is basically full. No import of expansion packs is only limitation. Well worth 50 bucks, yes I donated.
I am so sick of loop samples they need to ban that damn mpc machine this is 2022 not the 90s anymore...there's nothing wrong with sampling a kick snare hihats and percussions but when u start sampling a whole loop its either u lazy...uncreative or untalented...just my opinion...look whats happening these days...people taking credit for whats not their work...pressing 4 pads cause you chopped up a sample is soo out dated! SMH lmao!
its an artistic choice just like how choosing a common chord progression is an artistic choice not everybody is out here tryna re-invent the wheel when it comes to chord progressions in fact you dont have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to anything when you're making music, it's all about the way you choose to express yourself in that specific moment
Your comment make no sense they mainly use a computer to chop up loops not a MPC if anything they need to ban the computer not the MPC on a computer you just drop the loop.
what is your favorite sampling plugin of 2022?
Still alright with serato sampler. This seems like a good plugin for sure
Loop Mix for the time being.
Serato. If they bring the stems feature over from studio game over.
Serato at the moment but this looks like a challenger for that spot 🥹
just been trying the trial version and it's pretty tough. I think I might just grab this and use it with loopcloud.
Do you use momentum?
You nailed it at the beginning: This is perfect for Drum 'n Bass variations. I want this - thx!
Yeah, they won my soul with this. That’s literally how good it feels to mesh loops on the Maschine plus.

Looks good , Can you edit the start and end of a sample in it like maschine and can you copy a chop as well ?
does it chop up dead straight or can it detect swing in the beats?

Now I learned that "Take Lanes and Comping" is a new feature in Ableton Live 11. Thanks for the pointer! 😃
Great observation. What set this apart is the deep randomization. Does Live allow you to randomize or is it manual?
Yea it’s basically take lanes with sequenced Fx and randomization

Hello, does loopmix offer you loops with the elements perfectly on the grid or does it add some groove ?
Been waiting for a alternative to Live Slice for years now. This is not quite it for me I think because you can’t drag and drop the slices around yourself. Going to demo it though.
I think its missing some crossfade overlap function so you can really make beats n hooks sound more warped or even granulated.

Did you use Loopmix on this video, cos it seemed to be in a funny order 😂 [this plugin was an insta-buy for me... it's superb]
Yes and it won’t be the last time
Definitely can change how to sample and get more than what can be a face value taken from a loop.
It's cool. I don't know if I REALLY NEED IT though.
You don’t need any vst plugin tbh. It’s all optional
Watch how Dahi uses it in his streams. He makes it sound way better lol
