Western Painted Turtle Nest Monitoring Nanaimo, B.C. May 6, 2024

Turtle nests that were dug last year at Buttertubs Matsh were excavated to determine the nesting success. In the process, some hatchlings that had not yet emerged were uncovered and released .

Thanks Marcy-I watched turtles lay eggs last year, so it was nice to see some successful nests.
