For me it was settings -- tv and display options -- video fidelity & overscan -- and I changed my display to "Auto Detect."
Thank you so much you saved me I been looking for 2 hours
Thank you so much. This worked for my son's 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you man you helped me out this worked
Thanks
Thank you, this worked for me and I've been trying for hours!
I had my sound randomly go away when I was playing games. Could hear fine through headset but no TV speaker sound.
What worked for me was going from General -> Video fidelity & overscan -> Color depth.
It was set to 8 bit and I changed it to 10 bit and it miracuosly worked. Hope this helps someone else.
Just tried it and worked.
Thank you, I have no clue what happened.
I had this issue as well. Game audio going out randomly and intermittently over the past week with my Series X. I set the video fidelity to 10-bit just as you suggested and it worked! Thank you for putting your fix in the comments!
tysm bro life saver
bro u just saved my life i got this console last week love u bro
Thanks this worked! Appreciate it
You guys I got mine to work. Once you change your hdmi audio to headset format and your headset from ant to sonic(I have mine on sonic. Change the party chat output to headset and reset your Xbox. It says audio is temporarily muted when you change it
My xbox series X alot of games audio are working and the menus are fine but some random games like holiness miami , dead island 1 don't work for audio but do on headset.... any advice?
The most important thing you can do to fix the issue is unplug the power cord from the back of the Xbox & leave it unplugged for 2 to 3 mins to give it enough time for the capacitors to completely drain. Then plug it back in and everything should be good. Don't contact Xbox for repair until you do this first.
My Xbox had so many issues since I bought it. Had to be repaired 3 times because of my disc drive not reading at all and now I got that problem and nothing worked out to solve that problem. I tried almost everything people told me to do. I updated my controller, I changed the options to Hdmi uncompressed... I turned the console off multiple times even unplugged it for a while but nothing changed. Yesterday it did function properly without any issues.
My issues apparently had to do with the video settings. Switched to 4kuhd and audio started working again. Seems the last update I received today (8/25/22) reset all my video settings. Hope it helps
What fixed my problem was turning on my wireless headset. Sound just magically stated to work though the headset and then the tv and then soundbar. Such an annoying problem. Was about to do a factory reset...
It keep connecting to my wireless headset - even when it’s not turned on. *edit* at first the sound worked just fine on tv and headset at the same time, now the tv sound is mute for no reason.
U're the best, all the videos I saw didn't help me at all, until I got to yours.
How did you record the game fromXBOX ? I cannot record it because there is no sound IN GTA4
My issue was no audio on any device then checked 3rd party audio apps and noticed they had been deleted, reinstalled them and all is fine
Bought my son a Series S. Everything was working fine except audio. For some reason it was on DVI and not HDMI. Simple switch and the audio works no problem.
how do u switch from dvi to hdmi ?
Thanks, been puzzling for ages over this.
Thanks for the video. Didn't really help but others having the same issue kinda helps. Audio went out mid game and now only works in headset. HDMI cables are fine work with other items no setting changes helped just at a loss
Same!! Just this last week.., have you got any further??
Got this a few minutes ago... Turned console on after downloading Skyrim and now everything sounds glitchy from the TV audio.
Ok, it works correctly now. I only had to disconnect it for 5 minutes or so and also changed the connectors of the HDMI cable jic (the one that was connected to the TV is connected to the Xbox and viceversa).
My Xbox isn't doing any sound at all. I've tried everything and nothing is work, live TV ect is fine just xbox itself
Mine does sound but it's only GTA 5 that I get no Notification sounds
All I had to do was plugin my mic and take it back out.. strange but worked
For me it was my resolution I think thank you so much you are amazing I was about to cry cause I didn’t have a warranty thank you so much you are awesome
I change change the speaker audio won’t let me click it
the problem of my xbox s series that the volume is not heard at all but when i put the earphones the volume works in the earphones.
do you know the problem?
did you ever solve it? i’m having the same problem. so irritating.
@@PuttBlug69I’m having that problem too..
I lost my sound through my soundbar. The soundbar is plugged into the TV via one of those optical ports. I tested it on my blu ray player and that played just fine. The xbox audio works when i turn my headset on but does not work using the sound bar
Full shutdown tv.. Unplug hdmi cable, and xbox power cable.. Wait few minutes.. Then plug again all cables.. Turn on tv.. Voila.. Amazingly it's work for me after a week no sound on my tv n soundbar..
Restarted my Xbox that def was the problem. Idk how my audio stopped working when it was just working fine yesterday but thanks I was stressing out rn
Thank for the help
Didn’t do anything
Same
Ik
General>tv & display options> video modes. Uncheck “allow 4K”. Worked for me
Thanks , that worked for me too
Thanks man. It works for me.
Yeah but 4K is important for your games to look good why would you turn that off
Press the Xbox button, then find the volume settings and turn all the way down the headset speaking volume
Thank you
Did nothing
Thanks 👍🙏
Thanks for this, the resolution worked for me, no idea why it changed on me but at least I found a solution!
Didn't do anything
changed it from 7.1 uncompressed to stereo u compressed, thanks bro
Thanks g
I was just watching UA-cam, then out of nowhere the audio stopped working, I’ve tried literally everything and nothing has worked. What should I do?
you change your hdmi audio to headset format and your headset format to sonic(I have mine on sonic) Change the party chat output to headset and reset your Xbox. It says audio is temporarily muted when you change settings so after that you should be able to hear
I’m using a monitor not a tv and I plugged my speakers into the monitor and xbox but I get no sound from them and no nothing is wrong with my speakers because I literally just got them from amazon thinking something was wrong with my other speakers. Oh and I only get audio through headset but it just stopped working through speakers any solution to this?
same issue for me hav you solved it?
@@Linizer my issue was that I bought USB powered speakers and found after I bought them that xbox does not support USB powered speakers so I had to get speakers that are USB powered AND has aux 3.5.
Hope this helps you
@@rjholloway1997 doesnt help me but thanks for letting know
This happened to me today. First time I turned my Xbox series x on in a couple days though. I just unplugged my TV and Xbox for a few minutes and that solved it. Samsung TV.
Did some of your games work and some other not? As I have a few games audio not coming out at all but the menu audio and other games are fine. The ones that don't work still come through the headset .
@@mecharobots yes that is what was happening with mine. It seemed like all my games specifically for series x/s were the ones having the audio issues.
Try checking the video fidelity settings. Someone suggested changing them from 8 bit to 10 bit and it worked for them. I did the same and haven't had any issues since.
@@jsmarzan08 hero, it worked thought I was going insane with this
Lifesaver, much appreciated 👍
All I did was plug in a usb type c
And it worked
The problem is with certain games (Zoo Tycoon and Dead Space Xbox 360)
Same here with Braid (360) backward on Xbox SS
This just made my issue worse I had sound on my games and most of my apps, but I had no sound on the Xbox movies and tv app and I didn’t have sound on Fortnite so I tried some of these to see if it would fix those issues and no I have no sound at all🙄
did you ever solve it? i’m having the same problem. so irritating.
Why do I need you to tell us to PLAY around with everything? I knew that on my own.
reset xbox s
I had this problem and it was actually my TV. It confused me because the TV audio was working when Id use the apps on it like UA-cam, etc. But out of nowhere my Xbox stopped playing audio through the TV. I discovered it was a problem with the TV because I had the same issue w my Switch. The solution was to unplug my TV for 60 secs and turn it back on. I think it was some weird caching issue with the smart tv because now my systems play audio again. Hopefully this helps someone else 🙂
this actually helped me, thank you :) i also thought it was my Xbox when i got home cause the way i switch inputs wasn’t working until i had my sister do it a way she knows but i forgot about that until now. unplugged it for about 30 seconds and it’s working now!
Worked for me. Liking so hopefully other people see this.
I just got my xbox 3days ago. I just wanted to fix my Video settings for TV borders, after that all the audio is gone. Did all the tips in the video and in the comments even did a factory reset on the console, nothing really worked. I was about to kill my self already.😅 what worked for me was I gave my tv a factory reset. Sheesh Microsoft y'all gonna give me a heart attack.
This doesn’t help AT ALL
It worked!!! Thank you!!!!
I just can't believe that I simply had to turn on mono sound. I literally reset my console and tried everything but nothing worked, except for turning on the damn mono sound. I spend an hour on this dumb shit. Glad it works but upset it was so simple
You literally just regurgitated the ‘suggested’ fixes from the Microsoft site 😂
Try putting party chat audio to headset and then reset your Xbox
Or check your tv
Damn I’m stupid I just had my headset all the way down
Don’t forget to reset your tv
This is literally the solution 😂
Omg thanks
Just trash omg
Thanks it worked .
Thank you so much I had no clue what the issue was and I’m very happy as able to figure it out because of your tutorial
