- For 15 years, a group of friends have battled budgets, bad timing, and bad luck. From weathering hurricanes, to being marooned on an uninhabited island, they’ve seen it all. Well, except for good fishing.
But then, they joined forces with a sage of flats fishing, Nick Denbow, who just might have the key to unlock their fishing misery. All signs point to the “Holy Well.”
What follows is an insane combination of clear water tarpon fishing that crecendos into mayhem when an "angry frog" popper is tied on to the hook.

Heading to Mexico in February for juvenile tarpon and in May to Florida for some big ones I’ve been tying up some gurglers and poppers just to see if they would work . Glade to see they can . Heading to Kelly’s for some green foam to tie some froggy things :-)🐸
Small tarpon love poppers. Fly poppers or regular poppers doesn't matter, they love em...

I've fished with Nick before and know where you all were! What weight rod were you using for the tarpon fishing?
We really loved throwing 9s in this context. A little more punch than an 8… but more precision than a 10.
As technical as that sounds it was more for keeping the poppers out of the mangroves and into the water haha
