Any homeowner can have solar panels installed but are they going to be affordable and reliable. Are the installer placing them facing the sun? Are all local permits obtainable? Do you have trees blocking efficiency? Are you in a snow region? Is the debt within time that you can pay it off. Technology is still changing. Better panels are now available. Is a generator and off grid panels more affordable? Don't mortgage your life to Solar installers.

SunDrum Solar provides hybrid solar solutions for industrial, commercial, and residential applications. SunDrum Systems combine PV, solar thermal, and heat pump technologies to provide 24/7, high-efficiency heating, generating 6x more energy per panel to meet heating and cooling loads with fewer panels in less space. To be fair, if the following is true, idk if it’s exactly popular. I was told that in California, it’s now law to have your home be solar paneled or something along those lines. This I heard in 2023. I never verified this. But there are those who want to do away with all fossil fuel vehicles as well. So, assuming it’s true that state law is imposing their will on the will of the people, can it actually be said to popular? my friend, who is a roofer, said that the problem in solar is that people don’t want to buy your home, if buying your home means taking on the loan of buying the solar. so, idk. Maybe solar roof tiles are better because you can do the roof and solar at the same time and rather than have the two jobs be staggered and cost more to get done. Imagine you have to get the roof done, but you have to get the solar panels removed first and then get the roof replaced, then reinstall your solar. Then 5 years later you need new solar and then pay for that as well. Solar roof tiles seems to me to be a better option, if one is gonna go solar.
    Thoughts ?

It takes 15 years to recover your money, probably more. Parts burn out before then. Instead I invested that 40k in stock and had 180k. So saying it pays for itself is BS. Looks like trash, usually doesn't cover all energy costs, huge costs when components die. The only good side is that you have power if the grid goes out. Though you could just get a portable generator.

They all end up bankrupt. The system doesn’t last for ever. Those batteries don’t either. Way too much hassle and things to go wrong. Also you will probably move before paying them off so you have to hope buyers want to pay extra for them or transfer contract. You still have a power bill too as you’ll still be on the grid.

Interesting my company has been around since 1998, I know of many companies that install since the 80's and 90's. And would buyers want a $500 electric bill or a contract paid off (just add the remainder of the loan into the mortgage)
