- In today's video, we experienced Sri Lankan new years with a local family in Sigiriya!
The traditions included, boiling milk in a clay pot over a fire, an interesting version of pinata and a huge feast full of Sri Lankan foods.
We would like to thank the family at Greenedge residence, Dambulla for welcoming us into your family home. This is an experience we will remember forever!

Sinhala and Tamil New Year is the only festival in the world where religion is remembered at the same time, food is prepared at the same time, work starts at the same time, business is done and food is eaten at the same time. Happy New Year.... 🇱🇰❤️🇱🇰

Dont forget Polonaruwa ancient kingdom. Its less than 1.5 hours away from Sigiriya. Ritigala is another gem equally beautiful as Sigiriya.
We are currently in Negombo so I don’t think it will be possible to visit these locations now but I’m sure we will be back to Sri Lanka so maybe we could check these places out next time! Any other recommendations? 😊

@@2Backpacks1Globeha ha that's great. We also enjoyed the new year. btw next week the Vesak festival in Sri Lanka starts. There are Vesak zones all over Sri Lanka which you can visit. If you come to Colombo you can have a great experience.
